BB DVD's & that Jurassic Park music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TarHeelMom

Cathlete
Hi everybody! I've been "offline" this week for the most part since our DSL service is out and I'm having to share dial-up with my two teenagers. (You can guess how much computer time that leaves me in the afternoons and evenings, and my days have been wacko with holiday stuff!) Just wanted to pop in before the boys wake up and take over. :)

I got my BB DVD's yesterday afternoon and immediately all my planned errands went right out the window! I spent a very pleasant couple of hours previewing -- and ohmigosh, these DVD's and the workouts themselves just surpass my wildest hopes!!! Everything about them is a whole new level, IMHO. I love the variety, the music, the new exercises and tweaks to old ones, the intensity, all the cool new DVD tools, the cast looks great, CEDIE'S TAN OH MY!!! -- the list could go on and on.

Last night I got quite ambitious and did Kick Punch & Crunch -- what a fantastic workout! This one's going to take me some time -- my form on the combos was pretty laughable (I can't keep up with Cathe's speed and keep anything resembling decent form yet), but I did keep up and finish and felt SO pumped. I am going to really enjoy growing with this video.

Can I tell you guys my absolute (silly but true) favorite thing so far? I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Jurassic Park music that's on the main menu titles page and was the abs music for KP&C. I don't normally stay at the main menu page long enough to even focus on the music, but this time I was lingering and inspecting the page because of all the cool new toys -- and gradually I realized what I was listening to. That music combined with the picture on the main menu -- the awesome close-up of "Cathe the Terminator" in a tough punching pose -- well, the combination just makes you feel ready to rock! Picture this, folks: I am sitting on my step previewing (dressed to workout just in case the urge to sample something hits me :)), and for three straight minutes I am staring at an UNMOVING SCREEN (the main menu) with this goofy huge grin on my face! (I can only admit this to you guys -- my children, had they seen me, would have thought their mom had lost it completely!)

Is it me being hopelessly square (to use a word that definitely betrays MY age!), or do you guys love this music too?? Something about it is so cool and motivating!

So -- who knows which one I'll try today, but I'm off to do one (or two -- it's so tempting!!!!) and get my "fix" for the day so that I can stay on task and get some Christmas/Hanukkah shopping done this afternoon.

Everybody still waiting for the DVD's -- take heart, 'cause they are SO SO SO worth the wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)

All our friends up there in the snowy Northeast, please stay warm and safe today!!

RE: BB DVD's & that Jurassic Park music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Kathy~you are sooo right! The music rocks in this series. My hubby is probably sick of hearing me say, "I LOVE that song." (every other song!) Cathe & crew look incredible as usual and I love the way they all are sooo relaxed and come across the screen so well, if that makes sense??? Love your new guy/gal too. Looks like Smilie-Potato-Head to me! :7

I just finished KPC. What a workout! Yes, I'll be working on my form, too. I also love the Jurassic Park music. Lorraine's form is great and very motivational on KPC. Brenda's laugh is very contagious on Legs and Glutes. I'm afraid to try that one. Anyone who's done it, is it as scary as it looks?

It's not scary at all Val, it's FABULOUS!! You will love it!!

We call the Jurassic Park music "Hooked on Jurassic Park" from that series of electronic classical music from the 70s. Heh.

kathy-
Looks like your barbell smilie is doing endurance, while the new one is doing a slow and heavy workout. Very cute!

I wasn't really planning on getting in on the BB thing because I don't like strength training where you work the whole body in a single workout (and my apartment is too hot for cardio, so I always go to the gym). I finally broke down and ordered one DVD (Push/Pull and Supersets) though, in the end of November. Reading all these posts is getting me excited about getting it now! I'm sure I'll find a way to break down the workouts into segments so that I can do 30 -40 mins. per day.

Hi Kathy! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Jurassic Park music too! There's a song in KP&C while Cathe & crew are doing the stretches the music is pumping & makes my adrenaline soar so high while I'm stretching you should see what my FEET ARE DOING!!!! Their pumping up & down to the beat of that song! All the music in this series ROCKS!!!!!!!!!! Have fun! Kathy:D

Hi Nancy!

You'll be so glad you ordered that DVD -- I think both P/P and SS are going to be favorites, and I think you'll find that they're easy to break up. Push/Pull is only 44 minutes long, Nancy, including warm up and stretch! I like it just as-is -- if you heavy up on your weight you'll feel pleasantly worked out through your whole body, including abs, even though it's just a single set of each exercise. The premixes will allow you to double-set the whole thing for a long and intense day, too!

I love your comment about my newest barbell smilie. I just looked at the name of this gif -- you'll like this. It's from one of those German smilie sites (the best) and it's called "spudniklifter." :)

RE: Hi KathyH!

I cannot get that Jurassic Park theme out of my head! Now they'll just have to come out with the Body Blast Music on Cathe Vol 2!
