Are you a squirmer, a fidgeter, or a doodler?

I don't know about the rest of you, but I spend a lot of time in really long meetings during which there's a lot of talking w/nothing really being said.

So I started noticing my co-workers' habits. Some of them doodle, which I just cannot get into--even if I tried I couldn't figure out what kind of bizarre shapes & lines to play with on my notebook.

Some people fidget--twirl their hair, play w/their pens/pencils, etc.

Some squirm--that's me. I have a hard time sitting still for very long & I find myself changing positions every few minutes. Crossing & re-crossing my legs, leaning from one side to the other, etc.

Meetings suck. x(

I do all 3. Sometimes I squirm and fidget simultaneously, or I might doodle while I squirm. I have found though, that it's kind of hard to doodle while you fidget because fidgeting often requires 2 hands.

I am all three. I cannot sit still in a meeting. Primarily a doodler with a lot of squirming in between my works of art. If things get really boring, I start figeting, and at that point, you've lost me totally. Let's just get to the point and get it over with, please....I have other deadlines to meet. }(

I'll admit to doing all three as well. Meetings used to make me insane because people could NOT stay on point, and what could have been completed in 20 minutes took an hour. Grrrr....

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘Wow - what a ride!’ — Peter Sage

I'm a squirmer. If I don't move around a bit, I become a napper.

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good

I'm a squirmer.....I have the attention span the size of a gnat's you know what, so it's hard for me to be still!!:p

I begin by fidgeting, then move on to squirming, and if that doesn't occupy me, I chew a piece of gum and concentrate on not making any noise while doing it. Makes time fly...:p

I'm a doodler and a foot shaker. We just like to stay busy burning calories even during 'down time'.

Funny thing is my son is a foot shaker and a leg tapper...my 12yo dd is a doodler.

And thank godness for me all those freakin boring meetings are a thing of the distant past. You know who invented the meeting...a guy who had nothing better to do.

I still doodle when I talk on the phone.

I'm more inclined to fidget or doodle. If I get terribly bored I will distract myself by using the strategy that got me through loooong masses as a child, I'll count just about anything, ceiling tiles, holes within pattern of said ceiling tile I don't care. If the person speaking uses words over and over ie. right, okay, like, basically, ummmm, errr...I'll keep a running tally of the word use,...almost makes me look like I'm really paying attention:+

I'm an awful fidgeter. Especially in the winter, I CANNOT stop peeling the dry skin on my fingers. I moisturize like crazy, but it doesn't help. I have very dry skin and it's always peeling, and I'm always playing with it. Disgusting but true.

I suppose I make some people crazy, but squirmers make me crazy. When I talk to a squirmer, I always feel like they're just dying to get away from the conversation with me. To me, talking to a squirmer is like talking to someone who is looking at their watch. If it's a long boring meeting, it's understandable, but some people squirm from the minute they hit the chair!

Squirming is something I do well. Can't stand to be still for too long...drives me nuts! And it usually takes me 1-2 hours to fall asleep on most nights as I am very restless.

I mostly fidget and doodle (I doodle A LOT), but in exceptionally long meetings I squirm. I also do what Laurie said, and find myself noticing/counting things people say, such as how many times the speaker says uhhhhhhhh, and things like that.

I was in training for 4 days with this woman who said "bear in mind" almost every other sentence and I kept a running tally. And bear in mind, that by the end of day 4 I wanted to scream at her or hit her if she said it again!}(x(

I'm a doodler and a fidgeter. Then when the meeting gets way too long and I have to pee I am a squirmer.

I fidget...I can't sit or stand still for any length of time....that's primarily why I have such a difficult time with yoga postures. I love what yoga does for me, but I have trouble staying still long enough to allow it to happen;)

I fidget. I cannot stop my leg when sitting. I don't mind, though, I wish it were aerobic and burned alot of calories. Oh well.
