Anyone else thinking about Christmas yet?

I am one to start my Christmas shopping about this time of year to spread it out. The wheels are starting to turn for gift ideas to bad the funds aren't moving as well.
Does anyone else get a jump on their Christmas shopping too?

I always think about it early, but never really shop before late Oct/early Nov. We are trying to save money, though, which isn't easy. I love the holidays!

I don't enjoy the holidays at all. I'm so not looking forward to Christmas. I know, I'm a scrooge.

Yep, I've already got 4 gifts stashed in the closet.

I LOVE Christmas.

Yes, I have started to think, although I have not bought anything yet. I was thinking about WII - Outdoor Chellenge for my 12 year old girl. I have also started looking at prices and looking in the flyers to get idea.

Yes!
I'm usually done shopping before Thanksgiving.:D I hate fighting angry mobs in the mall, so I shop early!

Oh, well, I guess I should clarify. I usually finish by the end of Black Friday weekend, and I start sometime after Halloween. But I don't consider that early because I know some folks even shop year-round.

JennieR I agree really don't enjoy the holidays except probably for the family Thanksgiving. The whole shopping thing I see as such a scam. Wonder what will happen this year with the economy in the tank. I see people spending all their very hard earned money in Walmart's for plastic crap that will be broken before the day is finished. Bugs me. BUT we do celebrate and my son's birthday is Christmas day so we celebrate that also. My other son's birthday is New Years day. The holiday season is very busy for us.

The end of summer sales have a lot good bargains!

I do enjoy the holidays, but I miss my mother. She has been gone 5 years, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss her. My heart has a constant little ache in it.
My mother and I use to Christmas shop together the day after Thanksgiving. We always had so much fun. :D

Yup! I just ordered my first couple of gifts. Plus I am doing Thanksgiving this year for the entire family, and just ordered my turkey from the local farm. I love this time of year. :)

I just wanted to add that I have recently started using "You want Santa Claus to come see you this year, don't you? Well then you better listen to mommy!!" with my toddler!!

I wasn't thinking about Christmas at all until my 17 year old daughter came home last night. She visited her boyfriend at University this weekend 5 hours away and came home last night. The first thing she said when she got home was "I bought you some Christmas presents Mommy!!" I'm going to start snooping when she goes to school tomorrow!!! :p

Take Care

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that's not crazy about the holidays.

I shop all year as I see something on sale. I enjoy having my immediate family together at the holidays. This year though my youngest will be stationed who knows where with the Marines. I find out soon.

Jennie,
I'm a fellow scrooge! ;) I hate the holidays. I hate the fact that since Labor Day, stores not only have Halloween candy but Christmas displays as well!
I hate the expectations, the unrealistic holiday traditions, the whose house are you staying at? are u coming for Christmas this year?, the pressure to create a perfect holiday, and most of all I HATE the fact we've never had any money to do a nice Christmas for our kids! :(
I'm already in my pre-holiday funk b/c my hubby and I both have birthdays in the next 2 weeks as well as our 20th anniversary and as always...NO MONEY to celebrate.....
we're aiming for a trip to McDonald's followed by window shopping at WallyWorld! Haha! LOL!
Sorry about the rant...did ya notice, I'm not a fan of holidays?:p

Yep, already have my nephews, and Dave. Kids are easy to buy for, gift certificates and USC and Clemson items. I have some presents stashed.
