Anyone else having a sound problem?

I just received my new DVDs yesterday and couldn't wait to preview them. I put Low Impact Circuit in my Pioneer DVD player in the living room, and there was absolutely no sound at all! So I opened up the other DVDs and tried them. There was no sound on any of them.

I went downstairs and tested them on the DVD player in my workout area. The sound was there. This is good, since this is the player I'll be using.

However, I went to preview Butts and Guts and used our computer to do so. There was sound up until about 3 minutes into the warm up. Then, it disappeared. I went back to the beginning because I wanted to see exactly where the sound disappears. Now the sound isn't working where it worked the first time. I am so anxious to try these workouts, but I'm very disappointed that I'm having a sound problem. I haven't been able to watch enough to see if I'm having freezing problems. Has anyone else had any sound problems with their DVDs? Is this something that can be easily fixed, or will I just need to return my shipment?

Yes, I am having the same problem! I put B&G in my disc player on Monday night when I got home from work, and there was lovely video but no sound. I put the disc in my computer and it played fine.

I have to add that my disc player has had problems playing newer discs I've gotten from Netflix -- some just won't load, it's hit or miss. The machine is at least seven years old, and I wonder whether it just can't handle some of the newer technology?

We have heard of only 2 people so far having this issue. We're pretty convinced that the same "missing flag error" that causes some people to have a freeze is causing you to have no sound. Different DVD players can sometimes interpret code differently. When we fix the freezing issue it should also solve this problem.

I received the DVD's yesterday while in the middle of working out to LowMax. I was so excited to try one out and popped in Low Impact Circuit. NO SOUND. Again, this was while I was in the midst of LowMax with no sound problem. I put the remaining DVD's in the exchanger and not one of them had sound. I put other DVD's in and once again had no problem. It is definately NOT the player.
Unfortunately, I do not have another player, in fact this player is only 2 months old (Yamaha), but I have had no problems whatsoever with this DVD/CD player up to this date.
I did contact SNM yesterday and they responded that they feel it is related to the freezing problem others have witnessed.
Hope they resolve the problem and reissue new ones soon.
I sure don't feel that I should be responsible to find a different DVD player in order to use the DVD's properly.
I'm so frustrated having finally received them and that not being able to use them!!!

I don't know if this is the same issue, but with the DVD audio set to Dolby Digital(DTS) there was no sound, but when I went through all the DVD audio settings and put in on PCM (not sure what this stands for)the sound worked.

Maybe this will help someone else!

I know this doesn't have anything to do with this topic but did you take that picture as your avatar yourself? That picture of the squirrel is soooo adorable!

I know I'm getting in late on this subject. However I have been so busy i am just know getting around to trying the new videos. When I put Body max2 in this morning i had no sound at all good picture but no voice. the same with b&g. I dont want to open the other two videos. I did just email customer services but I'm sure I wont hear from them until next week if lucky with Thanksgiving. Can anyone give me insight onto what they have said they are going to do for those of us with this problem? Thank You so much, Jodi

SNM is sending replacements of all workouts to EVERYONE once the problem they have identified is resolved. Even those of us who do not have any problems at all are getting new ones sent. Along with the new ones will be a return envelope for the old ones. Hang tough it could take a while but it is being worked on and has been addressed uner ASK Cathe Forums if you want to do a search.
