Any yogurt eaters

I was wondering since my hubby works for Dannon Yogurt and he says their sales are down, I was just wondering since you all are into healthy, clean eating, do you eat yogurt and if so what brand and what kind? no this is not a sales pitch for Dannon LOL I was just wondering. I do eat it because he brings home so much and at times I do get yogurt out. LOL

Hi Leslie,
I LOOOVE yogurt, and it just so happens that I really enjoy the Dannon light and fit. We eat about 10 - 12 containers a week around here (my kids love it too). I used to buy the store brand but discovered how much better the Dannon is...I do tend to wait for a sale on it to stock up. I would imagine that they are getting alot of competition from the store brands that are so much cheaper.

Have a good one

I eat (or I guess drink) the Dannon Light and Fit Smoothies almost every day for a snack. They are yummy and only 80 calories, and I like that you don't need a spoon! My favorite is Mixed Berry, followed by Strawberry Banana in a close second. Apparently other people eat them a lot too b/c Mixed Berry is always sold out when I get to the store.

Not very often because of the sugar content, even the sugar free has lactose. But if I do it is Dannon Light & Fit.

I've been cutting back because I'm on a low-sugar eating program, and yogurt is high in lactose/milk sugar. When I do eat it, I buy Dannon plain nonfat in the 32-ounce container.

My husband likes sweeter creamier stuff, so he eats all flavors of Yoplait or La Yogurt. He used to eat Dannon but got VERY pissed off when Dannon decreased the size of the single-serving containers from 8 ounces to 6 ounces, and our local supermarkets did not decrease the price! Now that they have decreased the price, it doesn't reflect the new smaller size (regular price is around $0.89 per 6-ounce container, vs. $0.99 when it was an 8-ounce container - so a 10% price reduction for a 25% size reduction.) Not a good value.

I love Yoplait yogurt but have to be careful because it can make my stomach upset. Its the dairy products.. have to be careful.

I eat yogurt, but buy Safeways generic, as it is nutritionally superior to Dannon. Sorry.:)

But Dannon Light n Fit is my next choice!!!

I LOOOVVVEEEE yogurt. I also watch my carbohydrates and some brands are just chock full with sugar, even if they say low or non fat. The store brand of yogurt where I shop is not that high in carbohydrates and has the added benefit of frequently going sale.

I try to eat yogurt every day. I used to eat the little Dannon ones--I forget what they're called, but they're blended or something, so they taste yummy. Lately I've been buying Stonyfield Farm--they're small, too, and I think they're marketed for kids, because one of the flavors is Rockin' Raspberry! I like the small ones; they're only about 100 calories. I don't really like the sugar free yogurts (they taste funny to me), so if I eat one, I try to eat a small one. I'm not sure why I switched from Dannon to SF; for some reason, SF seems like a good company with natural foods (but I could be wrong!).

I like the Dannon creamy yogurts. They come in a small serving and are very satisfying. You just can't skimp on sugar with yogurt. Aspartame makes them taste funny. You don't get the full flavour.
Are there any yogurts out there that are made with Splenda??

I love the Dannon Light n Fit Creamy (vanilla) and eat it in my oatmeal every day. I only use 1/3 of a container in my oatmeal but my fiance uses an entire container when he makes fruity shakes about 2-3 times per week.

As a note - the creamy vanilla is almost always sold out or low on the shelves of Kroger in Dallas. I work for a food manufacturer too and we are always glad to follow-up on that kind of information!

Hi Allison
Yes they did that and they realized that was a huge mistake when the decreased the size so they might go back to the other size I am not sure that is what my hubby told me, they lost tons of money when they changed sizes

Hi, I eat Dannon Light n'Fit too. I eat just about all of the flavors, except Blue Berry. I love yogurt for breakfast. We are huge yogurt fans in this house. I also buy Gogurt for my son and whatever is on sale for my DH, he's not into the fat free.

Kathy

I eat it everyday. I recently switched to Dannon Light & Fit. There is only 60 calories and 8g sugar! That's pretty darn good for yogurt.

I'm vegan, so I don't eat regular yogurt, but I eat soy yogurt, and most days I have a cultured soy beverage (like keifer--not Sutherland--but soybased).

I always buy Dannon Plain yogurt and then make my own out of it for the next few weeks (I suppose that's not so good for Dannon sales, but they do have a good culture). I'm a vegan too, but I give it to my kids and lots to our puppies - very good for their little tummies.

We make "shakes" out of the plain yogurt almost every day. Yogurt, strawb's and bananas (frozen). The kids and DH love it.

That is cool about the shakes. have any recipes can share? I would love to make some for my kids and hubby but I think he gets plenty of yogurt to eat at work LOL. I also feed my dogs the yogurt and also sour cream it helps with the digestion for little puppies.

I buy Alta Dena's plain non-fat yogurt by the quart. Alta Dena's suppliers don't use BST. If I can't find Alta Dena, I buy the brand with the lowest sugar. I believe Dannon's sugar content is on the high side but the texture is nice.

I have to admit I like flavored yogurts but I don't want to consume that much sugar or artificial flavorings so I rarely buy them. I'm not a low-carb eater but I limit empty calories.

Besides eating yogurt w/ fruit or crunchy cereal, I also use it as a sour cream & buttermilk substitute, & pancake topping. My dogs also get a glop of yogurt along w/ a cranberry tablet with their breakfast to keep their urinary & digestive tracts healthy. They love yogurt!
