Lately I have been trying to stick to a low Glycemic Index way of eating...I actually started it because of acne problems, and BOY has it cleared up my skin! GI is 0 for water, 100 for pure sugar, and the rest of the foods are in between. You try and keep your blood sugar level from spiking. sounds more complicated than it is. You eat some protein at every meal, eat it first, and generally avoid potatoes, breads, rice, pastas and cereals (except for oatmeal). I eat slow cook oatmeal and fruit & some almonds for breakfast, plus some form of protein like yogurt or eggs. Lunch I am still playing with, but try and graze on fresh vegetables plus some kind of protein like a bean salad or some slices of turkey. Dinner I am striving to eat more seafood. Lots of times even if my family is eating pasta or something I can control my portions and fill up on the more healthy stuff. My skin is clear for the first time since I was like, 10! Plus I feel like a million bucks. If you cut the SIMPLE carbs, I have found I have stopped craving sugar.
