Another fraudulent eBay seller...

I hope there is some way you can stop the seller wiredvds on eBay. Unfortunately, I bought a DVD from them. They said it was a new Cathe DVD, but I discovered when I got it that is was burned. I'm sure it is an unauthorized copy.
I have notified eBay of this and am alerting current bidders on their auctions. I will attempt to recover my money through PayPal since wiredvds are not responding to my emails.
If you need or want to take legal action, I am willing to send you the bootlegged copy I bought from them so you can press charges.
I have definitely learned my lesson and vow only to buy from you directly!

I also just received 2 Cathe DVD's from wiredvds on eBay -- how can you tell that yours are unauthorized burned copies? I just checked mine out and they look like the ones I've bought from this website and have all the pre-mixes and everything. Is there some way I can check and be sure?

Thanks for posting your original -- even if the DVD's I just bought are real, I have still learned my lesson and will only get future DVD's from this site.

HI Mel!

I knew right away with looking at the cover on the case - it is too small and even though it looks real, the coloring is also off.

The DVD has a large silver band on the underside (like store bought recordable DVDs); whereas, the originals are a thin band.
On an original, the name of the DVD is printed on the inner band as well as STEPN001 with other numbers.

I also saw the grittiness of the color on the DVD itself. If you have Cathe DVDs that you bought from the site, you should see what I am trying to explain.

I used to work for a company and we burned our own software so I am used to lower quality reproductions when I see them.

I won't be able to check back for your reply or any further questions until next week (going on vacation!) but, I do hope you report this seller to eBay if yours are fake too. On eBay, click the Help button at the top of the page. Type in unauthorized copies in the search help box. Next page, click the top line that includes unauthorized copies. On the next page, click on Report unauthorized copies of media. You will only be able to enter in the item #s of the DVD auctions not any text.

I hope you paid by credit card so you can dispute the charge. I have a Paypal account which withdraws from my bank account, so now I have to get an expert to verify the illegal copy and file a claim to try and get reimbursed.

i am so sorry both of you were duped by this butt-head,you know what word i wanted to use ;). i for one,am boycotting ebay b/c that is terrible they let this to continue, i know its hard to catch them when these ppl open accounts under different names,but i still feel there is a way to stop them. companies just don't want to spend the time and money on their consumers piece of mind and that is sad. i really hope things turn around at ebay and paypal(which they own). its ridiculous that you pay your hard earned cash on a low=quality and ILLEGAL copy.

it took me a little while but i saved and saved and finally got the other cathe dvds that i wanted,as well as other workouts. i felt much better paying a little more then running the risks with one of these clowns. in virginia just being in possession of illegel copyrights warrants me fines and possible jail time. doesn't matter if i bought it or sold it,if i have it thats all they see. so you see why i can't run that risk b/c you never know what could happen.

good luck and i hope you can get them closed down and run out of business and that you get your money back.

I bought from them too. I just compared it to one I got from College and it looks fishy. It wasn't wraped in plastic wrap either when I received it. I got one in yesterday from Cathe and it was wrapped so I quess I got screwed. I payed mine through PayPals too. I think I've learned my lesson and I'll just buy directly from this site.

I sent Chris an e-mail regarding "WIREDVDS" last week. I hope he and Cathe are going to take action against them & E-Bay.
 
i saw them on ebay today (nefore reading this post) and immediately shied away because their feedback is "private" to me that is a red flag. hopefully they get kicked off soonx(
 
Thanks, Kassia. You were absolutely right -- both dvd's were frauds. I thought the picture looked a little grainier but generally ok, so I was fooled. But both dvd's had the wide silver band and no "step n motion" printed on them.

Boy, I feel like such a fool. I already contacted the seller, e-bay and paypal to fight the charges and I will go ahead and order my dvd's from here from now on.

don't feel such way, they fool alot of ppl daily. they prey on unsuspecting ppl. they are cowards for doing so as well. i almost fell for similar auctions but started to see what ebay was turning into. they care more about lining their pockets then consumer's sound mind and its pathetic. they are no better then the crooks selling these items.

I know it can be expensive to buy all the videos directly from the Cathe website, however you know you will get a quality video directly from Cathe and it is well worth the extra costs. A lot of items on Ebay really are junk and as I found out the hard way dealing with a seller who took my money and never gave it back you really can't sue them in small claims unless you live in their county or city.
 
I too bought dvds of Cathe's thru wiredvds. I bid 9.99 on the stretch dvd and just for fun a few others. I won the stretch dvd and wiredvds asked if I wanted to buy the others as second chance purchases. Of course I said yes!! I spent over $100. on 5 different dvds (hardcore series), they were all listed as new so I thought, no problem. I too noticed right away they were copies, my DH said they "smell burned" and the cover colors were off. Anyway I got really angry, contacted ebay, paypal and wiredvds and gave him a BAD rating on ebay. He responded by giving ME a bad rating and emailing me that he will refund my $ and change my rating, if I take back his bad ratings. (he didn't even want the dvds back!!)-what does that tell you?! Needless to say I took back the bad rating, he sent my money back to paypal and I now have 5 free dvds I don't know what to do with. No wonder his ratings all said good things. If I hadn't already had cathe dvds I probably wouldn't have known they were fakes. I ended up buying all the dvds again from Cathe.com because I didn't feel comfortable using the copies- I also notified cathe.com. and told them I would send them the copies but they didn't want them. I was going to donate them to the library but my husband stated since they are copies we could get in trouble.!! I learned a VERY good lesson and will never shop ebay again. Alot of aggravation to save 30 bucks.

I just bought Hardcore Extreme from Wiredvds yesterday, and am reading this post now. A little too late. I have not recieved the dvd yet, but I did go ahead and email EBay, seeing that they have done nothing. I know his feedback is private, so they only show the ratings and no comments. His ratings are all 100% positive. Odd that he has a perfect rating but soooo many complaints from people who were conned. Has no one here who posted gave him a bad rating? That seems to be the only way to warn others. I know that I will AND demand my money back. It will not be one or the other. This is wrong and I encourage everyone who has bought from them to do the same. Give him BAD ratings so they cannot do anymore business.
 
I had been bidding on them until I received an e-mail from another e-bayer warning me about how they weren't delivered as he stated. She told me to check his negative feedback. I did and right after that, his feedback became private. I am glad I was outbid! I will no longer bid on his/her items.
 
I did give him a bad rating and contacted ebay fraud department and pay pal. However, he would not refund my money unless I withdrew my rating. I contacted both paypal and my credit card company and they both stated there was nothing I could do until I contact the seller. He was willing to give the refund so pay pal would not help me. For me $136. is alot of money to lose, so I choose to alert ebay, and cathe.com and I posted here. Ebay fraud dept. has stated they are looking into it. Hopefully you can give him a bad rating once he has your money and still get your money back. I don't know how if you paid by paypal. Good luck, and I hope that he gets caught.

I too, just received a DVD from wiredvds, and it's an illegal copy. Unfortunately, I gave them a positive rating before I read this posting. I am demanding my money back and have reported them to eBay.
 
Same with me -- I learned they were frauds after I posted my feedback. But I contacted the seller today and he has already agreed to give me a full refund (probably because my feedback was already positive). I will note that he offered to do the refund immediately if I withdrew the complaint from PayPal (going through PayPal can take up to 30 days). I told him no -- I want PayPal to have a record of the complaint so I'll wait.

People like him make me so mad. But all of you on this site have helped put a dent in what he's doing, so thanks to all of you!
 
I rated him before I knew they were burned. I emailed him today and asked him if they were from the manufactor or if he burned them. If course I have not received a response. Also when I bid on the items he was showing his feedback and every response was positive so its been in just the past week that he has made his feedback private.

Thank you so much for writing about this seller. They have the Hardcore Bundle for CHEAP CHEAP right now and I was thinking of getting it. I also just checked my DVDs and two that I bought off Ebay that I noticed the picture quality was gritty, didn't have the StepN0000 writing on them! It wasn't Wiredvds I bought those from, so there must be quite a few dishonest ebayers out there!

Again, thanks for posting about this, opened my eyes!!

I just got done emailing all of Wiredvds higgest bidders on all his Cathe dvds, warning them of what was going on. It is crazy that he is getting away with illegallly selling these pirated dvds. I understand that people want their money back, and some have already given him a good rating. There are other ways we can put a wrench in his business. If anyone is on EBay and sees his things there go ahead and give the highest bidder a friendly warning. I know I would have been very thankful for one myself. Cathe needs to take legal action agaisnt him, he is taking away so much money from her. Let's band together and help out other loyal Cathe fans who might get taken by this man. DOWN WITH WIREDVDS!!
 
I have been doing the same thing, contacting bidders and warning them. There are currently about 3 bootleger right now. Wire dvd's has no negative feedback yet so he really has scammed some innocent folks! Ebay's system will only let you send a certain amount of emails and then it will give you a prompt telling you something to the effect that you have exceeded the amount allowed. Within 7 or so hours you can go back on again.
