Another fraudulent eBay seller...

eBay should be held responsible, or partly for allowing bootlegging of DVD's.

O/T my husband purchased a CISA DVD (supposedly) original from a seller on eBay, with the book (which he had) the purchase price is 150.00

Anyway, when he got the DVD it was OBVIOUSLY a burned copy and the cover was a joke. He got no repsonse from the seller, but had the mailing information. He contacted CISA, they sent him a new DVD and wanted the bootleg version, yes they went after this individual through legal channel and eBay.

eBay is in IT Data Warehouse business. I can not believe that with hundreds/thousands of complaints of bootleg sellers that they can not do anything about it. But they sure do not have an issue increasing fees, etc on their site do they? }( If the RIAA can catch individuals through their ip addresses, please do not tell eBay can not do the same thing.

wiredvds is one of the sellers, has a large amount up for sale. I believe you may not retract a bid simply because someone alerted you to the possibility of fraud. However, if someone is the winner of these fraudelent dvds, maybe just not pay the seller and notify the seller why you are not going to pay and notify ebay. So what if they leave negative feedback. You can always explain why in the feedback. Ebay will not revoke your right to bid simply because of one or two non baying auctions. I would rather get negative feedback than get stiffed because some jack&ss who wants to be a scammer.

Well, I think ebay's stance is that it's partially the responsibility of the buyer to look for the red flags. Too good to be true? Probably is. Loads of DVDs listed? Suspicious. Private feedback? *Huge* red flag. "Second chance" purchases... more of the same.

I'm not blaming anyone, but I do think that if you want to buy stuff from secondary sources, you need to be very careful.

I do hope ebay starts taking a much stronger stance on this.

And I will say this is the reason I never buy designer purses on ebay. Too many frauds...

Good luck & I hope you all get your money back!

D'OH

Hi! New kid here. And don't I feel like such a bloody idiot. I've been online for over a decade and after all this time can't believe I didn't see the red flags! I just saw a bargain :(

I recently bought four Cathe DVDs full price through Amazon and was charged a fortune in import duty (I live in the UK). But I love the DVDs and wanted to get some more. So on the weekend when I saw the ones from wiredvds on eBay I thought I could save a few bucks. So I bid for and won FOUR more.

Now I don't know what to do. They will take a week or more to arrive here, ie before I can look at them and confirm their dodginess. I mean, I know they're going to be illegal copies, but I don't even know if the seller has sent them yet. So if I ask for a refund I don't know if I'd get it.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh... I feel like such an idiot :(

RE: D'OH

Contact paypal and ebay immediately and let them know that you purchased dvds from a seller that they just terminated. Cathe just got the seller "wiredvds" booted off. Maybe you can get your money refunded by paypal before the seller closes out his paypal account.Best of luck.
