This is the first season that I have watched, and I actually like it! I am amazed at some of the talent these girls have I have definite favorite after last night, and DH and I actually voted!!! That 16 year old girl was amazing, I couldn't believe she is that young with a set of pipes that she can control so amazingly. Mandisa really kicked it off, didn't she? She set the bar for the rest of the girls, I think. She is a favorite of mine; her soul is so beautiful! I thought that Becky (I think that is her name: the really hot girl with the dark hair who has a twin?) sounded a lot like Pat Benatar, I don't know why. Maybe I am just crazy? Yeah, that is probably it! :p Paris is a born performer, isn't she? She owned that stage! I like Kelly's voice, but she was so nervous, I felt so bad for her! Honestly, though, Katherine McPhee is my favorite. She has an AMAZING voice. I think that she will go all the way. :)

But, now out with the nice stuff, let's get to the mean stuff... who is going home? I can't stand that Breena girl. I think that she needs a good kick in the ### to straighten her attitude out. I hope she goes, but I think it will be that really sweet girl, Stevie. I hate saying this, but it really was painful listening to her. Ugh, but I can't stand Breena!!! I hope someone from the competition gets mad enough to slap her silly.

I agree with you about the twin Becky...I was thinking Pat Benetar or Sheena Easton! I do hope she advances. And Paris, Lisa (the 16 yr old), and Katherine are my favorites. Brenna was a bit irritating...it'll be interesting to see who goes...:)...Carole

I don't know all their names yet, but the one who was posing over and over again has got to go!! She was annoying me. Is that Brenna?

I do remember the last girls name for some reason (maybe because she was last..lol). She was amazing. The 16 year old (#10) who wore the black dress has made me cry every time she sings. She's definitely going to go far. I hope! Paris, I think that's her name, was a natural.

It should be a fun show to watch. I know my kids enjoy it. :7

I agree Missy. There's not much you can watch with your kids during prime time. My kids break out the karaoke during the commercials. :)
 
I am happy that someone agrees with me, DH thought I was crazy! Of course he probably couldn't bet past her looks to hear her voice. :p

I can't wait to hear the guys tonight. It should be fun!

Dallas, it is great to be able to watch something that comes on primetime with your kids isn't it? DD loves it! She like so perform with them when she knows the songs. Too cute! :)

I loved Mandisa, Paris (what performers!), and the girl who went on last. (She had the best voice, I thought.) I could not STAND Brenna (the poser) as she was in the background making faces through half of the other performances! What a b&tch!

There were also a couple I thought were just, eh. This is also the first season I have watched and I was a little disappointed with the music choices. I thought the ladies who picked the rousing songs will do the best because they really drew the audience in.

Interesting show, for sure.

I thought Becky O'Donahue was terrible. It was like she was just yelling instead of singing. I also thought Stevie Scott (opera girl) was pretty aweful.

My favorites of the night were Paris Bennett and Katharine McPhee. My husband really liked Lisa Tucker but she kinda bugged me 'cuz she makes weired faces when she sings.

The guys are on tonight and I have a feeling that it won't be as good as last nights...but I was wrong once before;)
I think the problem last night was there were some awesome singers right at the beginning so that left the other girls to be compared.
I love Paris...I think she is the sweetest little thing ever! Her singing voice and her talking voice are totally different and I think she is going to make it quit far.
I like Mandisa to, and Kelly (just cause she is so sweet) and the last girl...was really good.Im not as good as Missy and I can't remember the names:) Oh...and the 16 yr old was great to.Those are my favs.Hope I didn't forget anyone.
I think Stevie Scott will be going home and the twin.Both of those were terrible and I think they have reached as good as they are going to get.

This is the first time I've caught it too and it's actually pretty interesting. I like Paris, if she's the one who sang "Midnight Train to Georgia." Mandisa too. Who was the obnoxious girl? I really hope she goes though my guess is she'll be around for a while. Why do so many women mistake being loud, crass and tacky for being self-confident?

I think the pretty tall girl (Becky?) is going home.

That is a great question, Sparrow. :) I feel like there is no likeness between self-confidence and being loud, crass and tacky. Confidence means that you don't have to put others down or be difficult, it means that you don't think that you are better than others but you do know that you have worth and are important. I don't feel like she was confident, I feel like she definitely crossed way over the line to arrogance. I can't stand people who think that they are better than others and have to put people down, or in this case make faces at them while they are performing on stage. I can't see anyone wanting to work with her (and they didn't during the auditions) and even the judges admitted that the problem that they had with her was that she was hard to get along with (in previous shows, not this one, even though she was told to eat some humble pie). I don't want her to be my American Idol, no thank you!

These girls made me look short. Did you all notice their long legs? Gosh, the inseams on their jeans must be at least 36 inches, and I thought I was tall...geesh! My son just kept saying, "She's hot, she's hot" over and over again. LOL! I think though that the last girl singing was the best. I don't like the show off /drama girl, whatever her name is. Too much in your face attitude for me.

I like paris, madisa,and kathleen.I also liked melissa's voice(the faith hill song) but she wasn't great.I don't care for kelly to much twang in the voice (not a country twang fan)I like country that is to me a normal sound in the voice.I didn't like kerry underwood at all and don't listen to any of her music.I love kelly clarkson.I was rooting for Bo (really constitine) last year.I just like rock sounding music.I think of the guys chris doarthy will be the one I like.At this point I don't really care who goes-altho Breann would be nice to see get the boot.

Constantine is hot, huh? Although, Ace reminds me of the lead singer of Creed...well alittle. LOL! I think Paula thinks he is hot, well he is! Did you see her fanning herself when he walked away after he found out he would be in? Paula needs herself a fine man. I was watching Dr. Phil with her on his show and she doesn't have a man in her life yet. I think she should grab a hold of Ace. LOL!

All of the women are very beautiful! Its crazy! Long hair, long legs...slim...the whole kit and kabodool!:) I think its the prettiest bunch so far.

Charlotte, you are so right on! My hubbie and I saw Paula fan her face when Ace walked out...poor girl! He is just hunky enough to get her into trouble..she needs to wait until the season is over and then make her move...

Did you see the one male contestant who said "We all can't look like Ace, who can?" I was laughing so hard...apparently he is so good looking he is causing jealousy amongst the male members...
 
okay I will make the first post after tonights performance...

just my opinions so take them lightly!

copa cabana guy was awful - nice guy but awful vocals...

Ace - well what can you say...can you get past his looks to even listen to his voice? (which is very good by the way)

Loved the Bon Jovi guy - he just needs a little more stage presence

and I am liking the guy with the gray hair more and more...I cant wait till he sings Ray Charles...

I love the rocker guys. Chris is HOT, HOT, HOT!!! Love his voice. I am voting for him ALL THE WAY!!!!! Ace, well he just makes me melt like butter into the couch when I look at him. I feel instant hot flashes overtake me....wowza! WHEW! He is good too, but Chris has really got the voice I love. Buckley was good too. And Elliott just looked like a Amish man singing in my opinion. It was weird to hear the voice/song and to see him looking Amish-like.

yeah toasty paula is hot for ace.I thought all the guys were great-tuff choice.The girls are really going to have to bring it every week to compete.chris was awesome he is my favorite along with taylor.I liked Bucky -ace and elliot also.I love the copa cabana guys personality he looks like he would be so fun to hang with.
I think with any of the guys you couldn't go wrong with voting for them.
