American Idol - who's going?

I think Paula likes *all* the young hotties...:D

I liked the guy who sang the Bon Jovi song. I love that song and he's more attractive than ACE, who is too pretty, IMHO. I want Taylor (?) to win though. As Simon said, he seems like he just flat-out loves the music and he's interesting.

Okay, standouts for me:

Elliot - he was awesome!!! What a voice!!!!
I actually liked Sway, I thought he did a good job with a song that is so hard to sing, and he hit that high note! Increcible!
Ace has already stolen some hearts (so I see! :p), he has major star quality, but I don't think that he is the best vocalist.
Chris was AWESOME! He has a great voice, too, huh? He doesn't have much of a personality, I agree.
Taylor Hicks. I have never seen anything like him! He is wonderful and refreshing!!! He is definitely a favorite of mine!
The cabana guy... hmmm. I thought it was sweet that he sang that song for his (grandma, was it?) but... he really should have waited to seal a record deal to do that. I like him, but last night, I am afraid that he is leaving. And he does look fun, doesn't he? :D
And that cute little 16 year old, as sweet as he is, I about fell asleep while he was singing. And I forgot anything about the first contestant. Patrick, is that his name? Forgetable.
Anyways, my faves are Elliot and Taylor.

Okay, I have to say this. The guys outsung the ladies, I think. I agree that you couldn't go wrong with who you voted for! BTW, do you guys vote?

Charlotte, he's the guy with the grey hair. See him here:

Ya'll like Taylor that much??? Hmmmm. LOL! I dunno, we don't care for him too much here. It's all good though. Great personality though. I am still sticking with the rockers.

I like Taylor, but I don't get the tics he has like (who was the singer of "My baby wrote me a letter"?). That guy had some kind of palsy, didn't he? Which is why he moved that way?

I like Ace, but he makes me feel like a dirty old woman (;-) ).

There are several that didn't impress me much last night, including the Donny Osmond look-alike who sang the Michael Jackson song, and the 'nerdy' guy (his lisp was distracting) and the crooner. I liked the rocker (the one who had the thickest southern country accent) and the two balding guys. The big guy gave me the impression of being the MC at a circus or some cabaret, or a singing waiter!

For the women, I liked the first woman, Paris (though I thought she bounced around a bit too much on stage, if I were a judge, I'd suggest she pull back a bit) and the other black contestant. None of the blonds impressed me (I don't remember names very well at all, and definitely not yet!). And the twin sounded to me, first, nasally, then pitchy, then strident. I pretty much agreed with Simonn about the opera singer. I was rather bored during her performance.

Randy seems to be a bit nastier this year! Maybe he figured since Simon gets so much attention for it, he'd join in?

And I wouldn't take much of what Paula says to heart, because she's usually so positive no matter what, like she doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings and wants to be a supportive 'mom' type. Simon does go too far in how he says things, but I agree with a lot of his opinions. When he praises something, it's WORTHY of praise.

The Copa-Cappan guy reminded of Jackie Gleason. And the one singing Michael Jackson reminded me of one of the Brady Bunch boys. I liked some of the guys but still think the women were better. Taylor has a good voice but the mannerisms are distracting. His moves make me think of Elaine dancing on Seinfeld. ALthough hard to really tell until they get them all together on the same night. It looks like a good season though!

I'm having a hard time this year figuring out who I want to win. There are several factors that I'm considering. First is obviously the ability to hold a note, that would go to Taylor, Paris, the rocker and Ace (He's so dreamy!). Then there's the entertainment factor, I really liked that kid that looks like Peter Brady, I think I will ejoy watching him perform, and also Mandisa, loved her performance. All the others for the most part can go. But those are the ones that I want to win, so far. We'll see as time goes on, I usually change my mind as they grow and get into the whole fame thing.
The DH likes Elliot, the one that Simon said had the best voice, or something like that. He was good, but, not that much fun to watch, for me at least. I have to be entertained, or forget about it. That's the reason that I liked fantasia, she was interesting, and Bo Bice, same thing. There's my thoughts on American Idol.

You're right, I can't wait to see how they will be as the show goes on! I am sure that they will grow and get more confortable on stage as the show goes on. I really like Kelly Pickler, she is so cute! My heart just broke for her because I could tell that she was nervous, so her performance suffered.

So, who do you guys think is going home? I choose...

Stevie
Bobbie
Kevin
Breena (*crossing my fingers*)

We'll see!

My vote for the winner (I already have one) is Chris. Not only is he a sexy, sexy, stud , but he can really sing. He is unique. He really caught my attention from the beginning!

Couldn't you hear the thumping of millions of teen-girls hearts while Ace was singing? I was watching thinking, "when my DD sees this tomorrow, she is going to be a goner!!!!" He really does have "it", doesn't he?

I like the mysterious vibe that I get from Chris. I think that is really cool.

*still crossing fingers that Breena will go tonight!*

I missed the first two guys but saw the rest of it. I think that Jose "Sway" guy was awful! Also, Kevin, the young guy didn't do very well IMO. Those are my two picks for going home.

I missed the show with the girls.

Ace, Bucky, and Chris are my favorites. :)

My two favorites last night were Ace and Chris. Ace is a hottie *drool*

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good

I'm thrilled that Paula made a comment about Will looking like Bobby Brady. He really does and noted this during his audition! Good thing he didn't sing a Partridge Family song... :)

Yeah, baby!

But the "look' he gave at the end of the song didn't look so much 'sexy' to me as 'scared to death'!

Sway did a good imitation of the singer from "Earth, Wind and Fire," but good singer don't IMITATE other singers, they give things their own flavor.

Kathryn, I agree! I think it is so funny that you said that because I don't think that there are many bodies that produce estrogen that would agree with us! :+
