Aerobics Shoes

RE: Caitlin!

So if the Enlight II is discontinued, can we assume that the N-Gage is its replacement and is the most recent technology? If that is the case, I'd get the N-Gage. Anybody know?

RE: Caitlin!

I finally bought the Ryka N Gages, and I love them. They are higher topped, and they provide excellent support. I had to order them a half size smaller, and I have them in a size seven. I do not find Rykas to run smaller, and, in fact, I think they are very roomy. I think that I have them almost three months now. How often does everyone change her shoes?

Thanks, Bella. That was indeed my main concern. That darn toe box:) Thanks a million...now when will those shoes get here.....

Hi, Catlin,

I got N Gages right before New Year. I got a black one so it looks more like Cathe used in Kickmax. At the beginning, I was fine with it. But when I started to do side lunges, or squat, it hurted my ankle because the tops are too high and too stiff. Do you have same problem? Too bad, I love the shoes, it is so comfy, lots of cushions. But I just can't use it. Any one could give me a suggestion to fix the problem?

Thanks

RE: Ryka N Gages

I have been wearing Ryka's for years, but I am leaning toward Shox Legend trainer, Turbo OZ, or the Shox NZ this year for the very reason you mentioned below. I really need lateral stabilization when doing lunges and dips. I have been twisting my ankles and my knees a lot lately. I have about 3 usable pair of Ryka's right now. One pair hurts my ankles because of the way they are cut.... Perhaps my foot has changed shape as well????? and perhaps I have been listening to too many great reviews of these shoes at other websites.???

I also want the Shox Boot NZ but I can only find one pair and they are like in Japan!!! They are sold out everywhere I have looked on line...even from Nike themselves!!!! Gotta have 'em. :p

RE: Wanda!

Debbie! I have spent so much time on line looking for these crazy boots, now I can't stop until I find these ellusive things!!! Hahahah }(
The only pair I found was in Canada:I was a click away from Japan LOL), and they wanted like $229 for them but the only size they had was 11 and the color was black. I want the light gray. The list price is $129 and I thought that was bad enough!!! I think these look so cute with skorts.

Anyway....great to "see" you too. :) :)

So you like these shoes. I have very flat feet. Do those shoes make for flat feet?

That was so funny. BTW, where can I buy Shox Legend trainer, Turbo OZ, or the Shox NZ? I don't want to spend over $100 in my shoes. I have 3 pairs (I only wore a few times) sitting in my basement.

Thanks

Well the scoop...as I am still on the trail....lol The best deal I come up with, so far, is at finishline.com. If you first go to BRADSDEALS.com and get a coupon code for a 10-15% off then go back to Finish Line. ( I found the Brad's Deals by scouting around at www.shopping.com. When I searched for shox Legends, (which comes in 3 colors..the most expensive silver/gray; the one I would want of course! lol)there was a box below the shoe listings for Brads Deals and the letsrun link).

Or you can to to www.letsrun.com/shoes and get a coupon code for finish line shox shoes. There is also a special no shipping on oders over $70.

D!ck's Sporting Goods has a few styles in stock (so I read from TurboJam website. A girl bought an adorable pair of silver/pink NZs). My local Finish Line did not have my size, but will order when I finally make up my mind which one I want. BTW, there is a $10 off coupon at the finishline website for IN-store buying..... Just print out and take with you.

nike.com was more expensive. eastbay.com was in the same ballpark as far as prices go, but they didn't have my size in the NZ or the Legend.

I can't answer the flat foot question, but I do know Shox has a shoe that advertizes a HIGHER arch. I always have to get arch inserts because I have too high of an arch...., so how the regular shox arch is made???????

All this research for a pair of shoes, right?
:p

RE: Ryka N Gages

Hi, Want Fit,

The higher top of the shoe didn't bother me, and I found that the shoe broke in very quickly. I think I am ready for a new pair now, and I am sticking with the N Gages. By the way, you have a beautiful photo album.

RE: Ryka N Gages

I had a pair of Nike Shox crosstrainers that were made specially for people who needed more support. I didn't care for them, and they hurt my feet.

RE: Ryka N Gages

Thanks, Catlin.

How did you break in the high top? Do you think I will use it as walking shoes for a couple weeks would help?

I just received my Ryka N Gage studio shoes yesterday. I've done two workouts in them Cathe step and this morning I taught kick box class with them. They're great! I did lots of shuffles, scoots, jacks, and plyo moves I love the higher cut. They have more support on the lateral moves and hey I'm sure I'm jumpn' a little higher now ;) Brigitte

RE: Ryka N Gages

I broke them in by just plunging in and doing some high impact exercise. The leather is soft, and it broke in rather quickly. I am getting another pair very soon. I just love them.

I have another shoe question. I do my Cathe workouts in running shoes. I used to use cross trainers, but those were just too heavy, too stiff in the upper, and not enough cushion on the bottom. I have bought running shoes because they were the lightest shoes on the market and also had a lot of cushion. How do aerobics shoes compare? I have steered away from them because I didn't like cross-trainers.

I LOVE the Enlight II. And they're not available ANYWHERE in my size anymore, so I am once again on a quest for a good fitness shoe. I tried the N Gage Studios and hated them. Much too stiff and high, causing friction around the ankle area.

Does anyone use the Avia 672's that Cathe used in Kick Max??? What about those??
