About that One Word thread....

For me, it was a coupla stress meltdowns I had during my National Board work, when I was feeling like a total failure. Seems silly now in view of the burdens others have to bear. Most recently, I cried for my friend at work whose hubby has stage III cancer. It seems like it is striking more and more of the people I care about. :(

I was touched by reading all the responses. Hugs & support to Michele and Beavs, who have been through an especially tough time lately.

A tv show made me cry on Sunday. It happens to me all the time. There's is also a commercial about abused animals with the song "Arms of an Angel" playing and I can't even WATCH it.

I gave notice at my job of 7 years that I'm leaving to be a SAHM. Tears of joy, but it's bittersweet since I've been here so long! ;(

Beavs, can you make mine a frozen margarita? :7

Thanks for all your kind words. Like others have noted, I feel like my troubles are trivial in comparison, especially to those who have lost someone dear, or have children with special needs. You all have a special place in my thoughts and prayers.

I've cried in church the last two times. I'm really not a particularly religious person, but we have a female pastor that is phenomenal. I go just because her sermons engage me and are very thought-provoking.

Well, two weeks ago, she was talking about visiting Jerusalem and all the deplorable conditions, the poverty and suffering. She told a story of a Christian woman who wove scarves for money, virtually nothing, and the pastor offered for our congregation to buy them or what could she tangibly do to help. The lady said to just "tell her story" to others. Well, when she told the story, you could tell she was breaking up ang getting, well, verklempt...well, when other people cry, I immediately start crying. I'm the biggest wimp!

I had NO tissues, snot was dripping out of my nose and I had to wipe it somewhere, on my pants, the pew, my neighbor's hand when we had the passing of the peace. I was mortified!!

I cry in every Disney cartoon - Finding Nemo, Toy Story - yup, leave there all red-faced like a lunatic...

So, I last cried in church.

So my story pales in comparison but I did cry when watching 'Juno' the other day. It was the part at the end when they show a framed note on the wall from Juno to Vanessa and then they cut to the scene where Vanessa (Garner) gets to hold her baby for the first time. I'm not sure why that got me but I got all choked up.
