Hi, its me again
I'm thrilled to be able to get back on the computer (now that I can fully focus) and share the account of today's surprise gift with everyone.
I must have been teaching when the delivery arrived but saw a box on the counter later after returning to the office. I noticed it said both Cathe & Chris on it (which is not usually the case)so I had wondered what it was. The funny thing was that I had just finished lunch and had a sweet tooth but didn't have time to pick up a snack and went straight to work. So now I am opening this box saying "Chris, did you see this box? It is for both of us?" There is no recognizeable name on the box so we are curious what it is. As I open the box, I just see the tops of a bunch of cookies. The first thing out of my sweet tooth mouth is "OH YUM, look at all these cookies Chris, who could this be from?" Then I reach down deep into the box and realize that it is attached to an arrangement. I pull it out and now I see all the edible flowers and the pot. At first I am distracted by the wide assortment of cookie flavors (being as I was having a snack attack moment)and began to sniff all our yummy flowers, ha! Then as I am rotating the arrangement I realize that the pot is painted. Now an even closer look reveals that it is uniquely painted with all Cathe.com paraphernalia on it.....AND a black lab. That's when my heart melted and my eyes watered. I quickly looked all about the arrangement to find out who it was from. When I saw all of your names typed on that note along with sentiments from the entire "educated crowd", I became very emotional. I don't think I'll ever be able to truly put into words what went through me that moment. I was in disbelief and pointing out to Chris all of the attention to detail on this beautifully painted pot. We ran out to grab a picture of it before it was devoured, ha! I actually was going to pose along with it but I had a REALLY SWEATY class earlier and didn't look very put together after that. But the good news is I worked so hard that I was entitled to a few cookies right? As I am munching away I am reading the note and in complete awe of this kind act. I had wondered who had organized the whole thing? How everybody got involved? Who painted this amazingly precious pot? etc. Chris of course is feeling the same as I am and I told him I would type a note from both of us. I wanted to immediately sit down and type this note out but I knew I couldn't express myself in a rush. We had some things we had to finish before mid afternoon so I had to wait. It was KILLING me not to be able to write. I was busting at the seams wanting to share the news. We are just so extremely moved by everyones participation and overall generosity. A HUGE HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU!!!!!
Nighty night!
Cathe
PS....This pot will be one of the most treasured keepsakes we own. And yes, without a doubt, I will always think of all of you when looking at it.
PSS...Kathy, I will surely work on getting that photo out to Blooming Cookies. How neat to be part of that. Also, after browsing their site I noticed that they have three artists on staff who do their beautiful painting. Their attention to detail is so impressive. I also came across the nutritional information on the website about the cookies by total accident, yikes! Not sure if I really want to know that now that the flower pot is near empty :9
:7 . What a neat company, I will be a future customer for sure.
