•• CHEETAHS •• Conquering Monday!

RunninTeach

Cathlete
Good morning, cheetahs!

Christine—hey, that's great about the bloating...how much water are you drinking now as opposed to before? Sometimes the best rides/runs happen when there’s no pressure. Sounds like a tough ride!

Carole—I do love the 4DS, and I am feelin’ it today, boy…Ha, I’m laughing that you extended your long run to avoid you-know-who. J I tend to avoid trails for that reason (the ankle thing—I’m not too good on the uneven surfaces), but it does look like it’d be fun.

Judy—I have done it so many times that I can catch myself pretty quickly and stay upright.

Wendy—I have not heard that news report. Always disturbing to hear that a child has murdered his own parents…Yup, ankle is fine. Experienced klutz at work here. J…Naps can be very refreshing. Lucky you to have time in the day to take them.

Gloria—thanks for lookin’ at the pics. J Great bargain getting all that for $100! Hope the visit with your aunt and mom goes smoothly. It can be a little awkward at first when you haven’t seen someone in a long time.

Monday = a rest day. Comes at a perfect time 'cause I'm majorly DOMSin'. :)

Have a good day, everyone!

Good Morning!

Cathy: I am sure it will be a nice visit today. Enjoy your rest day today!

Today will be yoga I think. Better get moving!

Have a great day Cheetahs!

HI Cheetahs

Today is long run day for me, and I am still keeping it to 7ish. Although I have bee here for 4 weeks...

Gloria- ahh yoga.... a good way to improve on a Monday!

Cathy- How did your cousin's SO do at MCM? That reminds me, I have to go check to see how Kathy did.

Well this is a short week with all the requirements of a regular week:confused: We leave for Chicago on Thursady early. I will be getting the family and house ready over the next 3 days. DS has two more PT sessions before we go. Keep your fingers crossed.

I'll try to use forum time as reward time for getting through my To Do List!
Ta Ta

Edit to add:

Wendy- I am so sorry/sad to hear about that double murder. I am sorry for You Mom knowing of them also. Thanks for the encouragement on looking for a half. I should check with DearBro for suggestions.

Morning Peeps.

Today calls for Power Hour but I no longer have it so I'll be doing Jari's Ripped and Chiseled instead. :)

Cathy: Enjoy your rest day AND your DOMS. ;) Experienced klutz, ey? LOL I am too. I continually bang my elbows into the door jam in my house. OUCH! So do you have your first ski trip in the works yet?

Gloria: Enjoy your visit with your mom and aunt today.

Judy: You have lots on your plate this week. We know you will get it all done though. :) Keep us posted on the search for a half marathon!

Have a great day!

Good morning Cheetahville!

MIA Cheetah reporting in....finally:confused:. I only have time for a fly by for right now. I should have time after work to catch up on all the den's weekend news and events:).

Quickie run-down....

1. Horse show went well for the kids on Saturday:).

2. Monkey headed down to Alabama Saturday night:)...gonna miss him though:(.

3. Ran my fastest 10 miler yet on Sunday...1:26:30. Funny because I almost quit after the first 3 miles cuz my legs were LEAD...I even had to walk (which was the first time ever for me) on one of the medium hills cuz the HR was sky high:confused:. After 4 miles though I felt fantastic! So, go figure, right?

4. This morning did SB/SJP Step and Weights Circuit #2, minus squats and lunges, added the plank work. Just the ticket today as the legs were a bit drained.

Okay, gotta scram for now. I've got a riding list a mile long because of the nasty weather heading our way tomorrow. TTFN! Have a great Monday ladies!

Hiya Ladies!

Carole – That’s good about your mom. My Dad had something similar with a PT coming to the house. It helped so much. Oh, how did Beau do hunting? When I picked up DD15 from YAB, I went and visited the doggies in the pound. Oh man, there were two gorgeous female labs – obviously field labs are they were smaller and sleeker. I wanted to take them both home. Oh yeah, and the 11 year old husky/shepherd mix (who could abandon an 11 year old dog?!), and the poor little thing who was so traumatized by being in the pound. I probably should not go visit the dogs next time.

Judy – Yes, I plan on doing a long, tough ride, and then taking a nap before going to the party. This party goes well past midnight, and I’m one who is in bed by 9 most nights. Good luck with all you have to do this week! Sounds crazy!

Wendy – Oh, how horrible about the double murder!! I’ll bet the son has mental issues. I’m sending feel better vibes to your mom. I experiment a lot and have gotten to the point where I can usually read a recipe and see if it’ll be tasty or not. Not all the time though! When do you start your fund raising, etc?

Gloria – Good job on the 5 milers! Oh have fun visiting your Aunt! Hope the visit goes well! Yeah, I typically gain weight in the winter, too. I am hoping knowing this and taking action before it gets out of hand, I can keep the damage to the minimum!

Cathy – I’m trying to get in 10-12 glasses. I think I was only drinking about 4-6 glasses. I is helping a lot. I so enjoyed my ride yesterday. It wasn’t as tough as the rides I’ve been doing lately, but I’ll tell you coming down that mountain is a blast. I was up to 40 mph! :D Have a great rest day!

Wendi – Hey there MIA Cheetah! Glad to hear from you! Monkey was sold?! Yippee!!! But, yeah, I’ll bet you’ll miss him. Poor guy will probably miss you too. Odd about your run, but I’m glad it ended up wonderfully!

I can’t believe it’s Monday already. Oh well. I had difficulty sleeping – I think I ate too much chili and all of those beans got to me. :p It was so good though, and I was within my calorie range. I have Spinervals Recovery followed by GS Back and abs. Our DP (Dear Puppy – thanks Wendy!) is in dire need of a grooming – he’s shedding up a storm. I never really knew before this past week that he has enough fur for five dogs. I’m going to see if I can take him in tomorrow. Have a great day all!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...it was funny about avoiding oldests sis yesterday, Karen was laughing knowing as we were out there running, her DH had to listen to my oldest sis. I bet he was wishing he was at work...:)...Trails are fun and we have quite a selection around here. But you do have to be careful. Enjoy your rest day...

Wendy...avoiding my oldest sis can get very creative...:)..Have fun with your Jari workout.

Wendi...thanks for the rundown! Way to go on the speedy 10 miler.

Christine...Beau did great on his first hunting outing. DH see's where he needs some work but overall DH was very impressed. Oh man, visiting dogs in the pound is something I try to avoid as I end up wanting them all!! Sorry about your lack of sleep. Have fun with Spinervals and GS back.

Gloria...I think most people gain some weight in the winter because of the comfort foods. I look forward to homemade soups myself...:)...I hope the visit with your Aunt and Mom is a good one. I for one know about family issues...:)

Judy... Yes, Beau did great on his 1st time hunting. As far as the course yesterday, I was going to run home anyway, but laughing at Karen who ran extra with us to avoid oldest sis! Enjoy your 7 mile run.

This week is my upper endurance week so I thought I would pull out the BBC's. Today will be BBC Sho & back and a 5.5 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Semi -Back in action cheetah. Last week was rough with all the sickness. We are all almost better so I took the girls to a Halloween Party they were invited to ages ago. Anyway we get there and begin to eat and stuff and the women who is giving the party and made the food says to me that she had the stomach virus two DAYS AGO. Freakin Idiot. ( sorry) So now we all may be contaminated again. I swear. Anyway today I decided to begin a slow and heavy rotation with two days of running. I did chest and back today. My calf is still weird but manageable. Anyway I have to get going. Just wanted you all to know I'm still alive. We have soccer today which I have to get to since we didn't make practice all last week. Two more weeks of soccer and tournaments and we are done. Have a great day and I will try to get back. If not have a great day and workout. Pray we don't get sick again. Still so mad about having went yesterday :mad::mad:

Good morning!

This weekend was a blur. I barely had time to turn around…..and now here it is Monday :)

Wendy – I am so sorry about the double murder! That is awful :( Your CCPP mix looks good! Enjoy R&C!

Judy – I am so glad you DH agreed with you on running a half! So, Buffalo is out? I am excited for you! Congrats on DD race! Enjoy your 7 miler today! Trying to fit everything with a “shortened week” is tough! Hope all goes well with your DS’s PT!

Cathy- Great job on your run yesterday, but I hope your ankle doesn’t give you trouble. Hope it is okay! You cousin’s SO did great in the MCM! That is great! Enjoy your rest day!

Karen – Oh my gosh! I sure hope you guys don’t get the stomach bug on top of the illness you had the past couple of weeks! Hope the calf is 100% soon! Good job on your workout! Sounds like a good rotation !

Carole – Enjoy your BBC and run! I have been craving BBC! That is great that Beau did so well with the hunting! The only thing Madison is trained on retrieving is frisbies and tennis balls ;)

Christine – You ride sounds great yesterday! Don’t ya just love when you feel like powering up hills! That was awful about the flooding/rains in the marathon in England! Scary stuff! Sorry you had trouble sleeping! Yep…the chili may do that to me, too! Especially if I ate it in the evening!

Gloria – Great job on your run yesterday! Enjoy the “get together”. That is cool that you aunt Is a runner:) Maybe having something in common to talk about will help it go more smoothly!

Wendi – So, is Monkey gone “forever”? Did the people buy him? Good job on your 10 miler! Good job on your workout this morning, too!

Hey Jackie, Dallas, Posh and anyone else that may pop in ! Hope everyone is having a good Monday!

Saturday was my 10 miler (by myself….Patty is out of town). I missed running with her, but this run still went really well. I was pleased with myself

Yesterday was a 4 mile run and Core Max #2. Today is a rest day.

Linda

Happy Monday

Mornin’ Ladies,

The weekend turned out to be a fairly busy, so I haven’t posted since Friday. Let’s see, DS’s team won their game (yay-one more win towards some play-off action). I managed to get my run calendar coordinated for the next 6 weeks to be ready for Napa training, and got more custom food added to the nutrition program. Oh yeah, and I made Judy’s marinara lasagna – delicious!!

Cathy – hey girlfriend, that’s some hardcore workout this weekend – NICE job on the DOMS…lol. Way to go on the runs too – I may be getting to dodge some splashing puddle drivers come this weekend. Yes, hard to believe California MAY get some rain… Like your marathon photo! Enjoy that rest day OH WAIT! CONGRATS on the ten pounds!! YEEESSSSSSuuuh! awesome!

Gloria – Sounds like you scored some steals at the GAP! Enjoy your visit with your favorite aunt – cool she’s a runner too so ya’ll may have much to talk about…

Judy – Sweet of you to send DD’s friend the bouquet! Thanks again for posting your marinara lasagna recipe – DELICIOUS! I added a smidge of cabernet to my sauce and I did use whole wheat pasta as well, but my goodness, what a simple, tasty meal – uh, except I have enough to feed the neighborhood now! LOL… Enjoy your run and getting your house/family ready for the Chicago trek!

Wendy – So you had a great time trying out the new shaker Friday night, eh? LOL. Oh yes, there were numerous hoses, and even hydrants open during Chicago – I did often partake in running through some of the sprays, but I was also cautious of getting my shoes wet cuz too wet of shoes and running long miles is a recipe for huge blisters! Enjoy your workout!

Wendi – Congrats on the horse show – sorry you have to see Monkey go. Nice job on the run.

Christine – LOL’ing re: Jim Dog’s shedding…I take Violet to the groomer and they brush her out good, but the in betweens - whoo wheee it sometimes seems like wth? where is all this fuzz coming from? LOL. Great job on your cycling!

Carole – Oh gosh, I bet you were laughing! Good job on the run – good you have your sis to get out there with. Um, although the defense was operational, wasn’t too sure the cowpatties could pull off the win. DS and I argue about Romo being a pansy – I say, “tape the damn pinky and get out and play”, and DS says, “you know how hard it is to throw a football with a broken finger?”…lol..he does have a point but still.. What was up with no Sunday Night Football ?!?!?! dang baseball.…lol

Karen – Nice to hear your family in recovering. Have a great Monday.

Linda – Way to go getting’ the last 10 miler done by your lonesome. You should be pleased with yourself!

Ok, I’ve run out of time now and must get out the door (wasn’t able to “start” my personals last night..lol)… Hello to Jackie, Dallas, Shelly and any other Cheetahs to check-in.

Have a terrific Monday, Ya’ll :D

POSH

Hi Cheetahs! Starting off a nice 3 nite stretch off:D Hoping I can start to catch up a tad around here with organizing and painting. Had a pretty nice nite at work but it was a bit slow. This ICU is definitely on the whole a lower acuity and slower pace then what I'm used to.... but not complaining here;) It just makes the nites seem VERY long!

I'll be heading out soon for a 12 mile country road run, the weather is nce and mild:)

Cathy- The Philly Marathon has a track the runners feature so I'll have to let the cheetahs know the details on that when the time comes. Congrats to your cousins SO!MCM is on my must do someday list (along with Chicago!). Nice 4+ mile run yesterday! EXTRA KUDOS on the weight loss!!!!!!!!! Enjoy your rest day today.

Judy- Glad you enjoyed Rumble but if you have access to a heavy bag you really would LOVE that section. It gives me as good a sweat as a 5 mile interval run! Great to hear that you are set on a HM to run! Awesome run for you yesterday with those hills... great pace! Hope you get all of your TO DO list accomplished. How long will you be in Chicago? You sure are a travellin family!

Jackie= Nice job on your 10+ mile run Saturday!! I'd say you're looking good for that upcoming HM! You are right! I have no shortage of tasks and workouts lined up for my stretch off.

Christine- Sounds like you had a healthy and fun weekend with a hike and a bike ride. Interesting story about that marathon in England... hoo boy, sounds like some ROUGH conditions! LOL about Jimmy's shedding. My Trooper falls in that category. I swear sometimes I think I could stuff a mattress with what I brush out from him!

Carole- You and Karen are already pealing off those 15+ long mile runs well in advance of your "serious" marathon training!!!! You two are gonna be in awesome shape for Napa! I guess there is a drawback to STS coming out soon... may have to back off some of the leg sessions? What are you thinkin?

Gloria- Nice job on your run and I hope your visit with your Mom and Aunt (a runner.... good for her!) goes smoothly.

Wendy- Nice job on the CC run yesterday!! I have only one vid of Jari's and it's one of the few I regret buying. She just isn't my "style" I guess you could say.

Wendi- AWESOME job on that 10 miler!!! You sure did recover quickly from whatever was ailing you there speedy cheetah! Hope the long riding day goes well for ya.

Karen- Glad you are feeling better. That was pretty brainless of that woman hosting the party you went to!! Hope you stay healthy and are back on track soon!

Linda- Hiya! That's great that you had such a nice 10 mile run a week out from the big date.... gotta be a good confidence booster!!!
Posh- Busy as always! Congrats to your DS!

That about catches me up for now. Have a great one y'all!

Good morning Cheetahs!

Cathy - DOMish!! Good use of vocabulary! :D I'll keep that one in mind. Enjoy your rest day.

Gloria - Enjoy the visit! Know it will be fun.

Judy - How did the long run go?

Wendy - Have fun with Jari today.

Wendi - Glad the horse show went well. Bet you will miss Monkey. Who's going to take his place?

Christine - Sorry for the sleeping issues. Those beans don't play around sometimes. :D Enjoy your workout!

Carole - Any excuse to extend that run, huh? :D Enjoy BBC S&B and your run.

Karen - Glad you and the family are feeling better.

Linda - Why don't we petition for a 2 day work week and a 5 day weekend? :D Good job on the 10 miles all by yourself. Enjoy your rest day.

Posh - Congrats to DS! Think they will make it to the championships? You were quite busy.

Hello to all others.

Today's workout was speed drills, some of the chest work from 4DS, some core work and stretching. Legs are a little sore today especially the calves.

Gotta dash! Enjoy your day!

Shelly - Posting at the same time. Enjoy your days off and have a good run! Hope you get lots accomplished.

Karen...well, my way of looking at sicknesses is that most people are contagious before they get sick and not as much after. So I am hoping you all don't get it again!!

Linda...BBC was fun, although my main dislike is the SAME music playing over and over!! But hey, Joey was worth it today...:)...Funny about what Madison retrieves. DH got Beau mainly for hunting but in a few months (per Christine & Posh's advice) I will begin short runs with him. Glad you got in the last long run. Enjoy your rest day.

Posh...Way to go for DS's team!! I am smiling to read you are all ready for serious Napa training. You should see my custom food list, OMG!!! You betcha we were laughing..:D...I was so happy the "Boy's" pulled that game out as my DH picked The Buc's to win and I of course picked the "Boy's"! Now though we are tied and the winner is the one that picks the TOTAL score of the Mon night game....yeah bummer no sunday night FB! I am not even interested in the series this year.

Shelly...yes, Karen and I are for sure getting in the distance I wanted to. I do want to be in tip-top shape for Napa! There was a question posted to Cathe in both the STS and Ask Cathe forum about STS and distance running. I am not real concerned and will do STS. As I have always worked my upper and lower body with marathon training. I will just back off heavy a month before the marathon. Hope you have a great 12 mile country run.

Jackie...Yes any excuse to miss oldest sis!..:D...Good job with the speed drills and 4DS workout. Hope the legs feel better tomorrow.

Had a good run and fun visiting with Joey..:D...Ran some errands and picked up a sandwich for DH. Then he met me at my sister's to spend some time with Mom. She seems very happy...:D

Carole: Aaaahhhh Joey. He's such eye candy, isn't he? :) Glad mom is happy. That must be a relief for you to know she's OKAY.

Christine: So I did Ripped and Chiseled in full for the first time today. Uh, what she doesn't say about carbs and cals in the upper body work, she makes up for during the lower body stuff! It's a good work out but you'd have to put earplugs in I guess. :p So all I know re my marathon training is that TNT will be contacting me in Dec or Jan. Beyond that I am clueless right now!

Jackie: Hope the calves feel better soon.

Shelly: Give me your email addy (by pm) and I'll send you the race pics. :) Jari is not my favorite personality but her work outs are tough so I do them.

Thomasina: Yeah I guess wet runnin' shoes are NOT a good idea, ey? :p So you are liking the nutrtion program? What happened to the other eating program you had been doing? I know you were enjoying success with it. Did you get tired of it or are you at a place where you are looking to maintain now so it's not needed?

Linda: Great job on the solo 10 miler! I'll bet it's hard to make yourself get out there alone when you are used to running with company. Do you use an ipod when Patty isn't with you?

Wendi: Glad the horse show went well. Sorry you'll miss monkey. Good job on your 10 miler. You are one fast cheetah there girl! So are you doing the Phila half??

Good evening ladies!

Let's see if I can catch up...sorry about the lack of personals this morning:eek:!

Cathy - Oh, WOW, congrats on the 10 lbs!!!!! Loved looking through your Chitown pics...you looked fantastic in your marathon pic!!! Oh, owie, on the ankle. Glad you were able to catch yourself before you did serious damage:confused:. Ohhhhhhh, yeah, that 4DS UB premix is always good for some serious DOMSin, as you so eloquently put it, *lol*:p!

Gloria - Hope you have a good visit with your mom and aunt. Hope you enjoy your yoga!

Judy - How *is* DS doing with the PT? Hey, whatever half you find I'll do my bestest to join ya:). Wow, good luck on that to do list! Hope you had a nice run today! Oh, BTW, the hammy is feeling pretty darn good, thanks for asking!

Wendy - Oh, gosh, I'm so sorry to hear about that tragic double murder:(. I hope your mom is doing okay...wow:confused:. Hey, you got rid of PH...I actually really like that one. Sorry about Jari's, ahem, *commentary*. I admit I was really on the fence regarding Philly cuz I didn't think I'd be ready in time but yesterday's run pretty much settled that:p. I'm so excited (and terrified) to do it now!

Christine - Your bike ride sounded like an absolute BLAST!!!! Glad you got out there and had fun with it. I can't wait to try that Cassoulet...yummy! Um, wow, just WOW, about that marathon in England:(. Yuppers, Monkey has a new home...I hope they have great success with him. He deserves to be famous:). Heehee, there a few things that Monkey just dudn't like and I feel bad for the poor groom who discovers them and decides to pick a fight with him:eek:...it's a fight s/he will NOT win, I can tell ya that:eek:. Funny horse:cool:!

Carole - OMG, LMAO about the water spray story...TOO funny!!!! Also had to laugh at the strategy for avoiding you-know-who:D! So glad to hear that mom is in good spirits...she's been long overdue. Yay for Beau on his first outing hunting! Have fun with BBC this week!

Karen - Glad to hear that you guys are finally on the mend! Sending {{{{VIBES}}}} your way so that you may ward off that bug:confused:! Great job on your slow and heavy workout today...enjoy your new rotation!

Linda - Glad to hear that you had a great 10 miler this weekend. You sound like you're good and strong and will rock your mary! Yup, Monkey is officially sold:):(. Those two smilies about sum it up.

Posh - Hey, I forgot to ask you about Smokey the last time I posted. Did they ever figure out what was wrong with him exactly? Hey, congrats to DS! Um, if you have enough lasagna for the neighborhood do ya mind if I drop by:p? Did you ever get to hit the asphalt this weekend?

Shelly - LOL, only you would *complain* about things being too slow in an ICU;)...J/K, of course! I would imagine that that *would* make for some loooooong nights:(. I wasn't sure I was going to be Philly-ready but yesterday's run pretty much locked it up for me so definitely count me in! I hope you had a great 12 miler today...perfect running weather:D.

Jackie - WTG on your 10+miler this weekend!!! Glad to hear that your hammies are feeling good. Nice mish mosh you put together today! Hope those calves loosen up for you soon. Oh, I hope no one is coming in to take his place...at least not yet!

Dallas - Ooooh, nice scores on the tops! I think I'm going to have to browse a bit more thoroughly through that site:p.

Hey, I think I've actually caught up now...woohoo;)! Gonna go shower up and settle in for a nice cozy evening. Nightie night ladies!

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:+ Tantrum Girl!!!

I can't believe that Philly is SOLD OUT!!!!!!! WWAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!

Last week registration was still open but last week I didn't think I had a chance in he!! of being ready:confused:. I am *beyond* bummed right now:(:(:(:(:(:(. Now I've got nuttin' to shoot for until, what, spring:mad:?

Okay, done being a cry baby now....

Shelly -Hope you enjoyed your country road run! It sounds really nice! I'll bet your are really glad to be off for 3 days! I am sure it is nice to not be working in such a stressful job!

Jackie - Yes! I agree with you! I think we should have a 2 day work week, too! Ahh! That would be heaven! Good job with the speed drills and 4DS!

CArole - I would love to be able to run with Madison. I can't, though, because of the invisible fence. They said it would confuse her :( Poor little girl. Let me know how he does with the running ! Glad you enjoyed the BBC! I agree with you on the music!

Wendy - Yes, I do use an iPod when I run by myself. I actually use one when I run with her, but only put one earbud in and keep it down low...because we talk the whole time.

Posh - Congrats to DS's win! The playoffs would be great! Gosh! You are so organized! Getting your nutrition plan ready for your training and marathon! I need to be more meticulous! I just kind of "fly by the seat of my pants"

Well, I guess I had better get busy and get everything ready for work tomorrow.

Have a good night!

Linda

Wendy - Have you received your October "One on One with Tony" yet? I got the replacement abs DVD....but nothing else. They did charge me, though. I called them the other day and they told me it was shipped the 15th.....but still nothing :( Just wondering if anyone else received theirs.

Wendi: OMG I'm so sorry Phila is sold out. You can always come down my way and do a 15k race with me at the end of November if ya want. :)

Linda: My One on One got cancelled when I quit coaching. I was about to start it up again as a regular customer but had no end of trouble with BB regarding placing that order AND it took a while for me to get my replacement ab disc. That being siad, I am now a quite weary of re-upping the subscription to One on One for fear that they will botch it all up. :( I am so used to running with an Ipod that when I ran the race with Shelly I did the same thing for most of it...I had it in only one ear and the had the volume low. I couldn't not use it though. :p
