    iTunes App

Now that we can link our workouts to Facebook, we need an application for our iPod Touch and iPhones to log workouts when we are away from our computers and to keep up with the forums!

    Ok....now I'm depressed

I hold the belief that diet is most important as far as weight loss/fat loss goes. Combine that with strenth/resistance training and cardio. It all goes hand in hand. Most opinions I have read all say, though, that you can't rely on cardio alone. Strenth training is what builds lean muscle...

    marathon and sts

I agree with those who are doing the 6 month rotation and extending Meso 1, which I believe is for endurance. That's what you want to focus on for marathon and/or half-marathon training. Also, you'd be wise to work it so the leg workout portion of STS is not do right before or right after your...

Got STS now I am concerned....

Tpa Girl is correct. Women don't have enough testosterone to bulk up. You'd have to do what the women bodybuilders do to bulk up and take/shoot some steroids/testosterone. Of course, then you'd end up looking more like a man in drag than a woman! Weights/resistance training help you build...

That was great! Makes me want to order even more!!! Have fun when it arrives!

I love you Cathe but I am tired of waiting.....

I have not pre-ordered but would have liked to have; it just wasn't in my budget. I did believe them when they said it would be a long time. I have been in some form of retail for many years and know that things like this take time to get right. Everyone had a choice to pre-order or not to...

    Debbie! Help with quad work

If you have access to a "machine" or some fitness contraption you can do leg extensions. They are great for the quad and depending how you position you feet you can target outer, middle, and inner quad muscles. I'm sure there are others, but that's the one that I like. You will feel it...

    What about Stevia

Thanks for this link. I am heading to town to try it! I am addicted to Coke Zero and want to break the habit!

    What about Stevia

Thanks for all the information. One more question. Does anyone know if there are any negative side effects to using Stevia? I know that with other sweeteners like Splenda and Equal, there are all sorts of reasons to stay away, like increasing cravings, headaches, digestive problems. I...

    What about Stevia

Does anyone out there have information about stevia? I think I used to have customers who were diabetic and their doctors had them use stevia because it does not affect blood sugar (the spike). I am trying to get off of artificial sweetners and I limit suger as well. Any information is...

If you consume artificial sweeteners, you may want to read!

I also heard a report that sucralose (Splenda) may interfere or destroy that "good bacteria" that are in our digestive systems. This can cause so many digestive problems. I gave up adding Splenda to my Go Lean cereal and tea and have tried to cut down on "Diet" anything and have noticed a big...

carbs, protein, fat, just not sure

As active as you are it seems you are not getting enough calories. When caloric intake is too low your body can go into a "hybernation" state where it it will hold onto everything you give it because it thinks it is starving. Are you eating every few hours and getting plenty of lean protein...

    Could use some help....

I think you can use both of those ratios. Keep your fat under control and let your body tell you what you need. There are many articles written about carb cycling for weight loss. That's why cheat days are important. Of course, by cheat day, think increasing carbs and not gorging yourself...

    Half marathon runners . . . question

I would definitely incorporate speedwork and hills in your training. This will really help improve your pace. Also, focus your non-running workouts on endurance instead of muscle building. Good luck! I am currently training for a full marathon! I really recommend anything Jeff Galloway...

    cardio or weights first

I also read that weights first then cardio will burn more fat since the weight work depletes those glycogen stores letting you get to the fat burning faster in your cardio session. Although, I can never have a long run after one of Cathe's leg workouts! Davina

Anyone else think that Sarah Palin resembles....

Katie, I can see where you are coming from, and, having never met either in person, I am sure that they both have a lot of class. I thought this was a forum to lift people up, not bring them down.

    Protein Requirement

A good rule of thumb is 1-1.5g of protein per pound of body weight per day. If you are active lean towards the higher number. Try to get protein at every meal. It helps me to eat 6 times per day. I spread my calories out fairly evenly. Protein keeps you fuller longer and it is the building...

    Why am I so hungry?

One more thing, you should consider cutting the sangria and any alcohol if you are really serious about losing weight. Alcohol will really make you store the fat. If you have to have it, it should be the occasional treat once or twice a month, and limit to one. Good luck! Davina

    How Many Calories??

Ditto to DeanaMax. I have used FitDay.com and I find their #'s are higher than I would use. Even though it is more time consuming, the best way is to track your calories and weight for a week and see how it changes. Then adjust for active days, rest days, etc... Davina
