Thank you! I have off between Christmas and New Year so maybe I'll try a month of on demand and do a few :)

    Step Recommendations

Well, I just read through some of the 'I hate step' thread below and got a few suggestions. If anyone has other suggestions, I'm all ears. Thanks!

    Step Recommendations

I've been away from the Cathe workouts and forum for a few years now and am just coming back to it. I did basic step yesterday and realized that step is a lot of fun! I have the two step videos from the beginner's rotation, basic step and low impact step. What are some good step workouts that...

women over 40, whats your favorite makeup foundation brand

I used to use Everyday Minerals but now use Silk Naturals. It's got fabulous skincare (I use it exclusively on my sensitive skin - and they have sample sizes to try first) and you can mix your own mineral makeup blend to match your skin tone. There is someone there that, if you post your...

    Ultimate Yogi

I have Ultimate Yogi and I think it is a fantastic set. The only thing that keeps me from doing it more often is the fact that they are all about an hour long, maybe a bit more, and I just don't have that kind of time. He's coming out with a Short and Sweet set soon, and I'll definitely get those!

    Worksheets

After quite a long hiatus from Cathe (and other workouts, too, for the most part), I am getting back into Cathe's workouts. I used to have the weights worksheets that I got from Lainie's website a while back, but some time ago my external hard drive (where it was stored) crashed. I just did a...

Ok so tell me what I need to look for in an Elliptical

My biggest piece of advice would be to actually try several out...they all have different 'footprints' and so they all feel differently (some may have an awkward stride).

    Jersey Shore question

Jerry (aka Eaglobo) works at the Jersey shore. Hopefully he will see this thread and give you some advice. Where along the Jersey shore are you planning on going? North? South? I guess he won't be much help if you're going to stay on the opposite end of the state :-)

AM workouts/so very hungry - help

I hope you feel better soon! Right now I have flexibility with my workouts as well...I just graduated and haven't found a job yet (and am hoping to take a good portion of the summer off!). I get up between 6-7am and eat breakfast. Then, I make DH's lunch for the day and get DD's breakfast (if...

    Cold Cereal ideas

Elaine, I've done the cold oatmeal as well and I was surprised at how much I liked it. I mixed 1/2c. of oatmeal with 1/2c. of milk, and added cinnamon (a ton-I love cinnamon) and a small handful of raisins. I let it sit overnight and then have it for breakfast. Hmmm...I haven't had that in so...

What kind of friend am I? Long

Don't feel guilty. You made yourself available but she did not want to follow through. She says that she wants to start exercising again but that doesn't mean that she WILL. Maybe the two of you can go walking in the evening? That way she will be getting some exercising (she can push a...

    Cold Cereal ideas

I love cold cereal! Right now, my favorite is Frosted Mini-Spooners (malt-o-meal brand) as it does not have high fructose corn syrup in it.

    RE: Sleeping problems

Melatonin never worked for me, unfortunately, but I do use Natural Calm when I have problems sleeping. It's a magnesium supplement that effervesces in hot water and it really helps relax you and helps you sleep. You can find it at health food stores like Whole Foods, but it's a lot cheaper...

Cardio vs. Weights? Full Body Weights vs. Isolated? HELP!

RE: Cardio vs. Weights? Full Body Weights vs. Isolated... Tanya, why don't you try a split routine for a month? A little less cardio, a little more weights. It will give you enough time to see how your body responds without being married to the rotation. Of course, this is coming from...

    Flying phobia

Why don't you take a couple of extra days off from work and take the train? Or what Nan suggested...make a road trip out of it? Flying will get you there quicker, but if you can drive or take the train, it will reduce your stress.

My road trip from 2 years ago!! (Long)

I hope you don't mind if I add in my two cents. Some people have a bad experience and then tend to dump on the focus of that bad experience. However, I can vouch for what Jerry said as I was there with him. I like the old workouts so much better and actually returned my T3 set because it...

    Replacing workout shoes

RE: Shoe Lover Checking in I kind of have a line of demotion as well. My newest shoes are used for cardio. Then they get moved down to weights, then to every day use. When there is no more cushioning, even if I use inserts, then I toss them. By the way, what kind of shoes do you wear for...

    I don't want to go!!

I can completely understand what you're going through...not with the OCD, but for the longest time I did the exact same thing for the exact same reason...he would get fired because he couldn't seem to get up and get going on his own. I still have to sometimes because he'll get up, turn his...

    Buy a Dog!!!

Haha! One of our dogs (don't know which...they both are chewers) ate the corner of our dish network remote. It worked for a while, then finally crapped out on us. Recently we had to get a new DVR and so we now have three more remotes. I wonder how long they'll last...
