    Bosch Mixer for bread making

I own both the vitamix (for grinding grains) and a universal Bosch. The Bosch is wonderful for making breads but doesn't work as well for cookies and cakes (flour sticks to the sides in smaller recipes). That's not to say it isn't doable....(My bet is the new compact might be better for that.)...

I'm Back From the Arnold Expo

OMG...a picture of my two favorite fitness stars -- it doesn't get better than this. I'm awestruck.

I just LOVE finding good books

Not at all ;) If I remember correctly, "The Hunger Game" trilogy is also designated as young adult and it was totally engaging. Heck, I recently read the "Chronicles of Narnia" for the first time and loved that too! My only regret was that I didn't read it earlier. Oh yes...I will read most...

I just LOVE finding good books

Oh my...loved "The Hunger Games" and "Room." They are fantastic page-turners. I admit, I'm a book addict. I really love page-turners. Yep, Amazon totally has my number. ;) My iPad happens to be one one of my best buddies. Hmm....I haven't read "Please Ignore"...(thanks Runnin Teach I will...

I haven't had a chance to do the workout yet. Thanks for the wonderful reviews. I can't wait to do it!

Some of my favorite things.....(just for fun)

    1. IPad (absolutely #1), my Kindle is rarely used 2. Microfiber hair drying towels (I bought quite a few) and I thought I was the only one who loves those fabulous things. 2. DVR 3. Vitamix (although I don't use it very much in the winter) 4. IPhone 5. Nikon D200 (lovely hand-me-down...

    Relatives Who Smoke

My MIL smokes like a chimney. She smokes outdoors at her own home and mine at all times. We as an extended family "laid down the law" many years ago and she has followed it without issue ever since. Every family gathering is now a smoke free pleasure. Honestly, we weren't polite. We didn't...

Which nut is the least fattening?

Oh my......I would have absolutely loved having the real version of roasted chestnuts in France or London! I make my own version of roasted chestnuts in the oven every year -- it's a wonderful delicious Christmas tradition. I just make a cross on the top of the chestnut, place them in a shallow...

Jenn, I love it! It certainly brings a holiday smile to my face.

    Nook vs Kindle

It's only a matter of time before lending will occur on the Kindle so I wouldn't necessarily make that a major issue. There are other articles about future library loaning capabilities on the Kindle...

    Nook vs Kindle

I decided to buy my dad the new Kindle instead of the Nook for Christmas. (I checked them both out.) Because my dad's a camper I felt the Kindle was the better choice -- the battery life on the Nook doesn't compare to the battery life on the Kindle (very important if you are a camper). I do hope...

Cardio before or after weight training

I have to agree with Clare. Yesterday, I had planned on doing a full body weight session but because I was so sore from a new grueling yoga class I decided at last minute to do an easy fun cardio session instead. I just couldn't imagine myself struggling with any weights because my shoulders...

    STS Total Body/High Reps

I did High Reps two days ago (from the downloads) and absolutely loved it (I love those gliding discs). Today I only had time to do the STS total Body Timesaver from the DVD and was even more amazed at how thorough it was in such a short period of time. (I can't comment on the music because I...

    New Downloads

I'm a little disappointed - the workout blender doesn't work yet for the Intensity DVD so I couldn't make a blend with the barre work yet. From the new DVDs, I was only able to download Lower Body Blast Leg Drills to the workout blender. I guess it has a bug. Bummer. On a happier note....I...

    New Downloads

I did High Reps yesterday and absolutely loved it. It's faster moving and more challenging than Power Hour. Although the music is fine, I do hope I have the voice only option on the new DVDs....I often opt to watch TV while I work out. (I know I'm bad ;)). Today I plan on trying the workout...

Which Cathe dvd got you cut the most?

I do have the STS series and got good results but I found I got the better results in less time from doing full body workouts so I would have to say Power Hour and Muscle Max. I believe getting the best results really depends on your body type and finding out what works for you. On another...

    Loving my new Ipad

I love my iPad (resistance is futile). Without fail, I bring it everywhere I go (I even brought it on the Houston road trip). If you are looking for a wonderful bag to carry it in, Waterfield designs has some beautiful ones. My personal lightweight favorite is the Vertigo (it's fairly roomy...
