    Soy Protein VS Animal Protein?

Strange. Soy products (milk, beans, nuts) make me feel sick and bloated. I've heard about lactose intolerance but is there such a thing as soy intolerance? I can drink skim milk 'til the cows come home (excuse the pun) and have no adverse reaction to it. It does sadden me, however, to hear...

    What is this movement for?

"In what workout does Cathe do the 100?" If I remember it right, it's in Cardio & Weights. Patricia

I think Cathe has ruined me...

I pretty well stick to Cathe for my home workouts. Although, once in a while I do Gin Miller's "Intense Moves" -- love that woman, great voice, "approachable" body-type, upbeat but not too perky. I tried a Mindy tape, but found her too chatty & perky, plus it took up too much workout space...

    I am so devastated!

Dear Cookie: I understand completely how upset you and your husband must be. I lost my sweet and beautiful Birman cat Raffi a couple of years ago to a mysterious disease in the cat world called FIP (Feline Infectious Peridontitus). At least, that's what my vet believed it to be -- there are...

    Shaky legs-keep going?

You think that's bad! My legs shake when I do endurance biceps with a barbell. Like when I do Power Hour - not at the beginning, but at the end when my biceps start to fail. And I mean my legs are "shaking like a chihuahua!". Patricia

The "working out at home" thread has me curious

RE: The Personally, I like both - working out at home and at the gym. There are negatives to both. Working out at home means cramped spaces, bad lighting (I work out before dawn) and bad air quality (i.e. none) in the summer. Working out at the gym means you don't have the privacy you do...

    PUB so flexible!

PUB is also on the top of my list. I think the reason I pull it out most often is its simplicity, and the fact you only use dumbbells. This gives this workout the illusion of speed. (Hate having to re-adjust barbells!) Patricia

Be afraid, be very afraid . . .

Ponchos - Muy Yucko!!! I remember when I was a teenager back in the '70's. Other teens in my town (Lindsay, Canada) wore these hideous Mexican or Mexican-inspired ponchos (brown scratchy wool with deers and buffalo, and other crap on them) as badges for anti-Vietnam war, "all we are saying...

Which strength workouts do you like best?

No fay're! It's like you're asking me to choose my favorite child ( or in my case, my favorite cat)! I love all three series, but the PS Upper Body has a special place in my heart. I go back to it time and time again when I want to split my routines. Matter of fact, I extrapolated shoulders...

    Hey Amy Steppe!

Hi Amy! I read on the "We're filming again" that you're turning 50 in October. Me, too! My birthday's on October 5 (same day as my Mom). When's yours? Patricia

    Pure Strength or Pyramids?

RE: Patricia! Hmmmm! Let me see if I can explain -- I'm kinda brain dead this time of day. Plus my powers of description are fairly abysmal at the best of times and I probably named the exercises wrong. (Enough excuses, Patricia! Just get on with it!) Sit on a bench, chair, stab ball...

    Pure Strength or Pyramids?

"My first noticable vein came with a pyramid roation." If you love veins (I do! I do!), try doing overhand bicep curls with a barbell, followed by upward wrist curls then downward wrist curls (like in the S & H series and Cory Everson's Get Hard Arms and Shoulders(not sure that's the title?)...

Am I the only one who was wiped out by HSTA? Oh My!

RE: Am I the only one who was wiped out by HSTA? Oh My... OK, I feel much better now! I thought it was just me that finds HSTA hard. You know that first cardio -- the one with the front fast foot repeaters? I've had to lower my step to six-inches for that one and I still barely muddle...

    CK Sales Fans (canadian)

I agree! CK Sales is amazing! Wish they carried PO9X, too. I have a hunch that ordering from Beachbody would be very expensive what with all the customs fees. Patricia

    Intensity or Blast series

Hi! Another vote for the Intensity Series! I've got entire Blast Series but only do the Step Blast & Step Jump and Pump. For some reason, the weighted work in this series does not appeal to me -- too "finicky". I guess I just like traditional "gym-style" weight training better. Like Upper...

    For those who use flax

I found a great "coffee" grinder at Zellers department store here in Toronto. It's made by Westinghouse. It's white, has a top loading canister of clear plastic where you pour in your seeds and has a front clear plastic canister to catch the grinds as they come out of the machine. You just...

    surgery in one week!

Hi! I had breast reduction surgery, going from DD to a B, about 12 years ago. Best decision I ever made! I absolutely love to be able to go bra-less when I want to, and to wear things like halter tops without worrying about bra straps, etc. This was, of course, long before I discovered...

    S&H Question

Just a suggestion. You can just buy adjustable dumbbells with collars where you put your regular (barbell) plates on them -- they're fairly cheap and you can get these at most sports, fitness stores. I don't do S&H lower body anymore but to get 45 lbs. I load one DB with 4x10 and 2x2 1/2...

    problems sleeping

This might be a bit simplistic, but have you tried hot milk? It helps me sleep. I also have a fan running (white noise) because it blocks sound and because I like moving air. I aim it at the ceiling above my bed so I can get a "rebounding" breeze, i.e. not a direct, stronger one. (Does that...

    any CKSales preorders arrived?

Mine arrived yesterday (June 8). Since I ordered it June 3, it took less than a week to get to me! Patricia
