    Questions for runners (long)

Hi, I am starting a running program. This is the history...I've started out with the first week run 2 minutes, walk 4 and progressing from there. The problem is, the book I got schedules running 5 times per week. I can only run 2, possibly 3 times per week. I also can not schedule my runs...

    Drop weight training, cardio only?

Thank you for your response - the weather is cooler now so I am going to have to get out and run! (Treadmill is not an option :(, way to much money for one I could run on!) Tami

    Drop weight training, cardio only?

Thank you for your input - I didn't think cardio only was a good idea and it seems none of you do either :). I can't run - I have two small children and the only time I could do it is while they are sleeping and I obviously can't leave them alone. DH leaves for work when it is dark and comes...

    Drop weight training, cardio only?

I have a muscular physique but have an extra 10 lbs to blast off. I was going to try dropping weight training for a month and focus on cardio 5 days per week (1 intense step (Cathe), 2 interval (IMax and Intense Moves), 1 kickbox (Cardio Kicks), 1 steady state low-impact (FIRM CSM or modified...

    Interval Max is Evil!

I just did it for the first time this week. I took out all arm movements and just concentrated on the legs. I did 7 intervals and then had to FF to the end. I simply couldn't do any more. But I did 7 of them!!! I had to do some modifying but I did it - I can't wait to do it again to see if...

    Suggestion for Intensity series....

Speaking of the camaraderie, the other day I was wishing Rhonda and Cedie had microphones. I'd really like to hear what they are saying in the background. Others of course, don't feel this way but I can hear Cathe talking to the background exercisers and would like to hear their replies. No...

    Several questions about endurance (long)

LAST EDITED ON Aug-26-02 AT 03:15PM (Est)[p]Cathe or anyone else that can help me... I don't know if this is unusual or not but I did Slow and Heavy and could lift almost as heavy as Cathe. I did CTX and Power Hour and have to use very light or no weights. On LL I used 8 lb dumbbells at first...

    Step beginner straight to CTX?

My very first step tape was Kathy Smith's and I didn't like it. My second was Cathe's Wedding video and I did just fine after about 3 tries. I did Mega Step Blast twice and caught on fairly quickly and also did Step and Intervals and caught on no problem. Then I did the hi-lo in Power Circuit...

    What order for CTX videos?

Thank you! All Step is my least favorite too and I was thinking of adding the shoulder work from that one on to another and your rotation is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again! Tami

    Cardio? New Workouts

I on the other hand was hoping for a total body weight workout like Power Hour (looks like we might get a circuit style instead) and another Cardio Kicks but I betcha those will be in the next round of videos she makes. I'm just thankful she is making new videos and not about to start...

    What order for CTX videos?

I'm planning on doing a CTX rotation which I have never done. I know that you are not supposed to do Power Circuit and Leaner Legs back to back but in what order is it best to do them? 4 of them contain ab workouts and I don't want to overtrain. I also am planning on only doing 5 vid's per...

    General "Intensity Series" suggestion, please

I also would like to see the males again. I also liked the women in the PS series in the back row. They were really fit and a bit older than me - very motivating and encouraging to watch. I really enjoy watching the background exercisers. As long as this is a general suggestion thread I...

    Suggestions? - Boot Camp Circuit

I like the idea of a 60 minute tape but with a longer stretch at the end - not necessarily 15 minutes but I think this tape is going to make me cry so I'm going to need a nice long relaxing stretch. I also really like the drills in CK so if you could include drills that would be great. Thanks!

    Suggestions? - Cardio and Weights

I vote for both upper and lower so I can use it as a total body day. On the other hand, just upper would be great too...Oh, I don't care! I'll buy it any way you make it!

    Suggestions? - Upper Body Split

I'd like it to be 60 minutes too. If you are going to work the entire upper body plus abs and core work, 60 minutes seems reasonable. Just put the abs at the end. That way those who want a 45 minute workout can skip the abs. I have no thoughts about the pyramid since I am not familiar with...

    Suggestions ?- Imax 2

RE: Love it as is!!! Personally, once I get to the blasts I'm not looking at the screen so I don't care if you add the graph or not. My only request is to have background exercisers showing low-impact/lower intensity modifications. Loud music is a must!:)Thanks!

    Suggestions? - Muscle Endurance

I'll be the first to vote for another Power Hour rather than circuit. (Ducking behind my moniter, here :)) I don't like doing compound exercises because my form suffers. I much prefer working one body part at a time.

    Suggestions? - Lower Bosy Split

I agree with a lot of the posts. Please go slower than PS - the step-ups were a little too fast to go as heavy as I wanted and I really like to concentrate on my form. Also, I LOVE step-ups, deadlifts (good-mornings?) and hover squats for standing work and any floorwork. If you have abs in...

Do I have post partum depression?

Please see your doctor - you do not have to go through this! I went for my yearly (after baby number 2) and told my doctor about my experience with PPD and he was so upset that I never called and told him what I was going through. He told me if I had just called he could have prescribed me...

    Weight loss question

Well, my son does not have to watch his iron but is very restricted in the dairy area - no cheese, yogurt, sour cream etc and is only allowed to have a certain amount of milk because these are very high in potassium. He may not eat bananas, potatoes, tomatoes or oranges (or orange juice)...
