    another catfood: Eukanuba

Did your vet prescribe k/d because your cat actually has kidney failure? If so, you should really check with them because your cat may truly need a low-protein kidney diet. You might want to ask for Purina NF, another prescription diet. In my experience, cats seem to prefer it.

found a puppy! what do I do?

Oh, never mind. I'm glad the problem is solved. I'm glad the kids were reunited with their pup! :D

found a puppy! what do I do?

You should keep her! (Ahem--pitties are my favorite). Is she kenneled outside? I would not leave her leashed/loose out there. I would try to find the owner; but it certainly could be an unwanted puppy from an "accidental" litter--I'm in the vet field, and it is all too common. As...

For those of us who are uncoordinated...

Zellybelly, I am also very uncoordinated and do not typically enjoy traditional step workouts. However, "athletic-style" step workouts do not have the learning curve of dancier step workouts and don't require the same amount of coordination. The moves are usually pretty simple (not easy) and...

Those against a modifier in high impact workouts, what's the downside?

I have never been distracted by the low-impact modifier when I've done other workouts that have them. And, I found it helpful to follow along with them after I had an injury where I could only do low-impact work. Prior to that, I had never had to modify, so I found it helpful that they were...

    Disc 17 legs...couldn't finish

I think it's great that you respected your body. We all have days like this. I couldn't finish one of the Meso 1 leg workouts because I was simply exhausted that day, but there would not have been any point in forcing myself to finish, because the risks outweigh the benefits when you're...

STS DISC CHECKI N DISC 15

I would say if the "to failure" set were truly easy, then you may be going too light (like if it took 25 reps to get there). But I would think that anywhere up to 20 or so reps is reasonable. I'm sure the "too failure" sets will vary for us from day to day, as some days we feel really strong...

STS DISC CHECKI N DISC 15

I did disc 16 2 days ago and LOVED it. I really enjoyed my first week of Meso 2--I think I have some new favorite Cathe workouts. I had just the right amount of DOMs--soreness to tell me I had worked hard, but I wasn't incapacitated. The deadlifts KILLED my forearms, and I could...

    Disc 13 and sore traps...

I strongly suspect that you are hunching or tensing your shoulders during the exercises. This could stem from using weights that are too heavy, leading you to tense your shoulders and neck and use momentum from other areas to lift the weights. Try using weights that are a couple of pounds...

    My "5s" are lonely!

You could do some pinky curls with them. That might make them feel better. :D

Are there going to be premixes?

Whoops, I see this question has already been addressed. Never mind!

Any chance of throwing in a core routine or two?

A standing ab routine would be cool, but you will probably be getting a pretty good standing ab workout doing MMA. I use to MMA/Muay Thai and my abs were in great shape, because your abs are involved in stabilization during kicks and punches.

    STS CHECK IN DISC #13

I just did this one today and I barely have the strength to type! I LOVED it. I think I will enjoy Mesos 2 and 3 more than Meso 1 (although they were still excellent workouts). I like the slower pace of the really heavy-weight workouts. Disc 13 was very doable, yet left my muscles very...

Are there going to be premixes?

Of course I just pre-ordered; how can I resist? :) I was wondering if there will be shorter premixes with these workouts; it would be a great timesaver!

    Your dog's favorite workout move

My dog doesn't seem especially interested when I work out, but my 10-month-old kitten loves it. She swats at the barbell and my band, and she tries to "play" with Cathe and crew on the TV. She likes to try to bat at the resistance bands that Cathe uses and goes to the TV screen and touches the...

Cathe why no pushups in Meso 2 & 3?

Uh, yeah, I'm looking forward to not doing them for a while! I doubt you would lose all of your strength and have to revert to modified push-ups. You could always add some if you want!

How important is it to drink water during a strength training workou?

Not Cathe, but yes, taking sips of water will keep your muscles nice and hydrated, which will help ensure adequate blood flow and oxygenation. Aim for about 8 oz. per 10-15 minutes of exercise for proper hydration (indoors, comfortable temperature and humidity). Your fluid needs increase...
