    Intrlocking mats ??

RE: Interlocking mats ?? I use 20 pound weights on two corners, but my mats are on concrete too. I found that just one layer didn't help much. I was replacing my sneakers every 4 months because my feet hurt even though I used the mats. A second layer of mats helped immensely.

For those who do HIIT and Cathe workouts...

Would you consider the bootcamp cardio section in Kickmax to be HIIT? I'm planning a HIIT rotation for two months and aside from running sprints both outside and on my treadmill I'm looking for other ways to get my intervals in. I don't have a functioning bike right now, so I was wondering if...

    Labor Day weekend...

We're taking our boat out w/ friends Saturday and Sunday. Probably cruise Long Island Sound and go clamming one day, cook lobsters on board the next. Monday is our family day at home. We'll be enjoying the last weekend in our pool and eating some awesome barbecue. Sometime during those three...

Anyone Try 20 minutes of Interval Sprints- Results?

My treadmill doesn't go past 8mph, it's an oldie. To make up for it I do my HIIT on an incline. I'm also starting out slow. I need to get into condition for this.

Anyone Try 20 minutes of Interval Sprints- Results?

Timely thread, as I had just read the HIIT thread over at the Yayas and it inspired me to try it. This week I started by doing 6 sprints on my treadmill. I did a 5 min warm up, followed by 7mph sprints for 45 sec each with 3.2mph/1 min strides in between. I ended with a 3 min. cool down. I...

Amy Bento - 1st time and didn't like it, anyone else ?

RE: Amy Bento - 1st time and didn't like it, anyone els... I love Hi/Lo Ex. In fact, it's the only hi/lo workout I like! The premixes are great too. I also love her Bootcamp workout. There's quite a bit of whooping on it, but I've been able to tune it out because the workout itself is kick...

Any ladies here do the P90X, Extreme Home Body Fintess?

RE: Any ladies here do the P90X, Extreme Home Body Fint... Just wanted to add that although I love Cathe, P90X gave me the best results I've ever achieved after following a three month rotation of it. I got amazing muscle definition and strength gains from it, but it's very hardcore and...

Are whole wheat bread and pasta clean foods?

Just makes sure you read the ingredients on the package, esp. when it comes to whole wheat bread. There are so many whole grain breads that label themselves "all natural" but have listed garbage like high fructose corn syrup in the ingredients.

    Leaner Legs?

Leaner Legs is one of the only lower body workout I like. I think the reason being is that it's very thorough and intense for being just 30 min. At least, I think it's only 30 min. in length... If it's longer please don't tell me that because that's how I psych myself out to do it!:P

Catheites w/ kids home for summer

My DD's, who are 7 and 9, are so use to me working out that they'll ask me in advance when I'm going into the basement to exercise. Sometimes they'll join me, other times they're content playing. It's never been an issue, but I must say, with our busy summer schedule I am happy that I...

Thanks for the tips Kathryn! I'll try doing them in the order mentioned above. I am loving these workouts. I only paid $35 for them and I'm getting a lot of bang for the buck!

Question for Kathryn re: Barry's Bootcamp

Kathryn, do you remember the Cuban Press? You place your arms in a scarecrow like position then flip your arms up and do a military press? I was wondering if that might cause some shoulder strain. Also, the shoulder exercise that's similar to a cable machine. It's like a front raise, only...

Question for Kathryn re: Barry's Bootcamp

I usually take note of your sage advice when it comes to exercises that may not be safe to do and as I recall you have this series. Are there any exercises that you would consider unsafe in BBC? None of them seem to give me any trouble, but I don't want to set myself up for an injury either...

    Favorite candle scent...

I love spice scents like clove, cinnamon and pumpkin pie. Also herbal scents like sage. Yankee once made a dill candle that I loved. Florals give me a major headache and sweet cookie scents make me hungry!

    Squeeze - first impression

These type workouts always give me monster DOMS, more so than traditional leg work. Plus, I get better results. The key is to stick with it, which I have a hard time doing because I'm always switching things up. I'm glad someone finally put out an advance version of barre work. I hope she...

What was the breaking point for you?

Losing the last 10 post-pregnancy pounds was tough (I also had two children 14 months apart) but the breaking point for me wasn't just that. It was watching women around me who were starting to gain weight once they hit the mid-30 mark. I didn't want to end up like them because I knew once it...
