Adjusting Weights on 1 rep max

Even after I did many of the 1 rep max tests, I found myself (after viewing the 1st DVD) adjusting many numbers on the workout card (I either rounded up the weight or increased the weight). Now I notice the weight is only valid on that card for the calandar day I adjusted. If I just print a...

    My STS Preview Review!!!!

Heather, I loved your review and please don't ever change your writing style. I don't know you personally, but I knew your comments about the Gym Styles were totally tongue-in-cheek. Heck, after all those push-ups I'm not going to say I didn't, at times, think about using them as frisbees...

Are Pilates Good for Plantar Facitis

My husband has the same problem. He practices certain foot stretching exercises we found in an article highlighting the condition (it was a few years back) in the Dallas Morning News. He also wears Z-Coil sneakers: http://www.zcoil.com/products_faq.html The sneakers are odd looking and run...

    Fitnessfreak's January Rotation for January 12, 2009

Geez. Debbie the weights you use are amazing! (I can't imagine doing a chest press with 30 lb dumbbells...my hands hurt just thinking about it). It's no wonder you look incredible. Were you always able to lift somewhat heavy or did it take a lot of time to be able to work up to those weights...

    Fitnessfreak's January Rotation for January 8, 2009

I did SB today....wow, I'm just glad it's one of the easier cardios. Oh boy, I sure am sore today. That's such a good thing. ;) Ouch......

    Fitnessfreak's January Rotation for January 7, 2009

I'm glad I read this thread....it motivates me to do what I need to do today to stay in shape. I took a planned day off yesterday off because I stayed up really late the night before (my DH bought Celine Dion concert tickets....incredible seats...geez, what an awesome guy!). I've got to...

"Fitnessfreak's January Rotation for Dec. 29"

I just want to post that I'm enjoying the new challenges of this new rotation. I'm a bit ahead of everyone because I have to take other days off this week due to travel demands. I feel good that I will have some slack later this week. Anyway... I enjoy reading everyone's posts....they...

funniest thing I have EVER seen...

I love both of the videos. They are simply adorable. The dogwork video reminds me of my sweet Katie, a mixed breed shepherd. She does the same bunny hop romp only through water. I would imagine if we lived in a snowy climate she would do the same through the snow.

    Fitnessfreak's December Rotation for 12/23

I notice as I get older I'm less likely to try new things....I seem to revert back to my favorite cardio routines and have a tendency not to want shake things up. I have all these Cathe DVDs that I don't use to the fullest because I'm not real fond of change. Needless to say, Debbie, this...

    Fitnessfreak's December Rotation for 12/19

Thanks Patti, I do have Cardio Kicks, I will definitely give it a try. I will be doing this rotation again next month so I will make those changes...I really do want to get better and I know that will only happen with practice. Robin

    Fitnessfreak's December Rotation for 12/19

Wow...I usually don't do kickboxing for cardio so this "Cardio Power" premix was a real challenge for me. I did really well with the kicking and bootcamp portions, but failed miserably when it came to punching. I simply couldn't think fast enough to get my punches out as fast as Cathe. I hope I...

    I Read cardio is overrated.....

I actually do cardio three times a week to help keep my brain fit. I do believe cardio helps keep alzheimers at bay. This is just one of so many articles I have read on the topic: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/114953.php Robin

    Proposition 8 the musical

Thanks for sharing this Jennie. It's real shame it didn't come out 6 weeks ago. Maybe it could have swayed a few votes....along with the movie "MILk." Milk also came out a bit late. Incidently, Sean Penn was absolutely believable as the gay activist who became one of our first openly gay elected...

    Fitnessfreak's December Rotation for 12/4

I didn't have a chance to check in yesterday, but I did do the workout. :) I also did the workout today (less the calves because I accidently did them yesterday following my shoulder work...lol). I really like the combination of 4 Day Split legs with the Leg & Glute floorwork. This exercise...

    Fitnessfreak's December Rotation for 12/2

I was so happy to see Step Blast in the rotation. It's one of my all time favorites only because it's just so much fun! Today I did it with only one riser (getting back into the swing of hard workouts) so my heart rate didn't really peak. Oh well...that's okay. I know I will work harder next...

    Fitnessfreak's December Rotation for 12/1

I also joined in on this rotation, but lowered the weights in some of the exercises (only because I've been a little bit of a slacker lately). I didn't want to be in too much pain tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the rotation. :) Thanks Debbie! Robin

    Not judging, just curious

How is it that one group of people can feel comfortable stripping another group of people of their basic human rights? The love between two people of the same sex should be treated no less than the love between a heterosexual couple. Who is to say that a marriage has to between a man and a...

I think my pomeranian had a seizure

My heart goes out to you......I do know that heart ache when you watch your beloved pet seize. I have a mixed breed dog, Katie who even after being on Phenobarbital has a few cluster seizures every few months. During the seizures, she becomes totally disorientated, paddles her little feet...

Any Professional / Semi or Ameture Photographers in HERE??

RE: Any Professional / Semi or Ameture Photographers in... I am strictly an amateur. I use a Canon G9 as my point and shoot and a Nikon D200 (my husband uses a Nikon D300) for regular shots (the lenses are really the most expensive part of the hobby!). I would suggest the Canon G9 (great...
