    Relay For Life Confusion...

It's too bad they don't offer both so people can choose what they like. I often think this at airports and malls too, I don't mind all the junk food being sold, each to her own, but would it KILL them to put in ONE place with fresh salads, veggies, veggie burgers, and fresh fruit? I'd love to...

    The Most "Underrated" Cathe Videos?

RE: The Most I also love SS/PP, they seem easier than some of the more hardcore weight workouts but they're fun and interesting and effective.

    Less Cardio, Weight Gain?

Not Cathe, but I gained weight when I did P90x - I was eating very clean but I ate plenty to fuel the workouts - I basically did not change my diet while I did the X. I gained about 2-3 pounds by the second week of the X, which stayed with me the whole 3 months, and as soon as the X was over...

    Fitness vs thiness

ITA with all these posts! Bravo to Cathe and crew for keeping the focus on fitness and strength, and for being such good "common sense" role models.

    Easiest choreography, highest intensity

Not Cathe, but if low impact is a priority for you, I'd vote for Low Max, it's intense and if you're a step type person the choreography is not complex. If once in awhile you can do high impact, IMAX is a great athletic (rather than dancy) type step workout, with easier choreography. The...

FAQ is a VERY good idea! Thanks for posting this.

My review of exercise DVD's rented from Netflix

Thanks for posting this! I get a lot of exercise videos from Netflix, and it's helpful for when I'm organizing my queue. I just did Rob Glick's Amazing Step Styles last night and found that I LOVED it even though I would never described myself as a complex-choreography type of person. It...

do you prefer 6 small meals or.......

    >>so i did six small meals for a long time and recently have >>switched to 3 meals with 2 or 3 small snacks. > >How is that different? >When I eat more meals, they are smaller meals (some would be >considered 'snacks'). To me "5-6 meals" means three larger >feedings and 2-3 smaller ones...

eating in the middle of the night...

Are you taking a new sleep medication? I know one of the medicines that's prescribed for insomnia (can't remember which one) can have this side effect, people report that they get up, eat, walk around, even drive, in the middle of the night, and don't have any memory of it the next day.

    Favorite childhood food?

Licking the beaters after my mom would make chocolate cake, then licking the beaters again after my mom would make the chocolate icing. Everything tastes better licked from a beater! Also, on Sunday night my mom would make chicken and rice and cream gravy, and my ultimate fantasy food is a...

    A question about eggs.

Actually I've read that an egg a day is safe for most people unless they have high cholesterol. And the yolk is very nutritious because it's loaded with lutein and Vitamin A, which helps protect our eyes.

    Left Foot/Right Foot Cueing

No thread on the Soprano's yet?

I really liked the ending - you could interpret it however you wanted. At first I thought the "suspicious characters" were FBI guys, because I saw Tony glance at one of them and sort of smile, and thus I figured the family was safe because of Leotardo's death, and they would go into the witness...

    Beware: weight and scales

Nancy, first of all you are ONE LUCKY WOMAN LOL! How long have you been eating about 3 yogurts or a little ice cream every night? If that's something that has changed in the last year or so, maybe it's all the dairy that's helping you stay so lean despite a healthy calorie count. There are...

Bitten - by Sara Jessica Parker

I love SJP anyhow, she's so down to earth, seems so nice, adores her kid and hubby but not in a bragging sickening way, is always kind. I'd buy her clothes just because her name is on them... The name of the company is a little odd, though. At first I thought it was maybe a play on the...

    Paris Hilton out of jail????

WARNING THIS IS NOT A DEFINITE FACT AND IS PROBABLY JUST A RUMOR. I have no personal knowledge if this might be true and I don't want to start a billion rumors and if it turns out not to be true I apologize in advance :~) But in one of the scandal rags last week (the Enquirer or the Star)...

    Power Hour or MIS???

I like PH better - it's a little easier, the weights are a little lighter, the set is a little cheerier, Cathe is a little funnier. I love it! BUT I have to say I find MIS harder, so if effectiveness is your main goal I guess I would start with that. Or you could alternate both!

    40 minutes of cardio?

I just read an article somewhere (sorry, I cannot remember where) where the author had studied people who did very intense cardio (like marathon runners), and when they got older they were more likely to develop a particular type of heart arrhythmia (atrial fibrillation, which is usually not...

    eat everything in moderation

Actually, though, Nancy, your evening "extended meal" sounds very clean to me, unless there's lots of sugar in the yogurts - AND you eat maybe about 700 or 800 total calories in the evening? That's what plenty of people eat for dinner, but they're not getting the fiber and vitamins from the...

    isculpt ballet?

You'll probably get some great replies here, but I have also seen a lot of discussion about this at the Video Fitness website - I think if you do a search under the general discussion forum for iballet over there you will find a lot of good recommendations. I've been eyeing these workouts too...
