    Canadians, still waiting for Xtrain/Calendars?

The approximate numbers were Duty $16, $13 HST and $13 Handling. They didn't open my box either ... I would have been much more comfortable if they had, and had based the charges on the actual product! Wish I knew what "handling" was - right now I am pretty sure it involves 10 minutes...

    This blew my mind!

My BMI also puts me in the "overweight" category. My doctor mentioned that to me a couple of years ago, as she read a BMI chart, tracing her finger across it. Then she said, kind of absently, "Why would it say that? Do you really weigh that much? Did I read the number wrong?" I said, no...

    Canadians, still waiting for Xtrain/Calendars?

Well, the good news is ... I got my XTrain today! Yeahhhhh!!!! The bad news is the duty. $41.75!! That stinks! I am not sure if this figured into the calculation, but the description on the sticker from Cathe's team said the contents were "merchandise" and Canada Customs in all their...

    Canadians, still waiting for Xtrain/Calendars?

Hi Mishel - I think that whether you pay duty or not, is completely random. When parcels come into the country, there aren't enough staff to examine every parcel so they look at some percentage of them, and if duty hasn't already been paid, it's charged. If they don't happen to select your...

    Canadians, still waiting for Xtrain/Calendars?

Still no XTrain for me in Toronto, as of Jan. 14! Maybe there will be a notice waiting for me when I get home. Fingers crossed! Glad you got yours, pouncer! And no duty is especially nice. :) Stebby

Does anyone have a remedy for stiff neck?

This is a little bit weird, but it may help to stretch other areas too, not just your back and neck. I sometimes get a stiff neck and I find that stretching my other tight areas - hip flexors (runner's lunges and crescent pose), piriformis (pigeon stretch) and shoulders (clasp hands behind back...

    Canadians, still waiting for Xtrain/Calendars?

My calendar came on Jan. 7 (no duty) but X-Train isn't here yet. I expect there will be duty on it. It seems that the longer it takes, the more likely there's a duty charge, probably because the delay is due to someone at Canada Customs calculating the duty! :D Stebby

    Hot Dog Philosophy

They don't last that long. I've had them go bad on me more than once! They get slimy and they start to stink. I agree that the recommended week is about as long as you would want to keep an open pack in the fridge. We actually have a Tupperware-style container that is meant for freezing...

I need help with steel cut oats!

If you are cooking them for 30 minutes on medium-low you may need to double the water. That's what I do and they turn out perfect for me. I don't understand why the instructions always call for so little water (usually 2 parts water to 1 part oats ... I use 4 parts water). I've tried...

    Canadians, still waiting for Xtrain/Calendars?

Toronto - nothing yet. I was considering getting the downloads but glad I didn't ... my iPod conked out last week and so did one of the hard disks on the computer! I am getting psyched listening to everyone's descriptions of the calendar and the workouts though. Hoping to get them by...

I haven't received mine yet. (I usually don't receive it until mid-January - hoping for sooner this year.) Stebby

What is your last workout for 2012?

Went skiing today! It was beautiful. Bright sun, blue sky, weather right around the freezing mark. Stebby

    Lifting heavy and "bulk"

Another heavy lifter here (for more than 30 years). I am convinced, looking at my relatives who don't weight train, that weight lifting has kept my hips & thighs slimmer, and my posture better, than they would have been otherwise. I think I also would have been 20-25 lbs lighter in scale...

    Cathe Calendar arrived in Canada

Wow! Amazing! I don't think I've ever received mine before mid-January - maybe this year I won't have to record two weeks' worth of workouts somewhere else. Here's hoping. Stebby

Slow & Heavy Chest & Back WOW!

Yes, this is a great series. Thanks for reminding me! I think I'll pull it out and do these workouts as my weight workouts from now to the end of the year. I have time to do each one twice. :) That should help me defend against seasonal weight gain! Stebby

    When did PlayDoh become....

Why do they even want your birthdate? What happens if you don't let them have any of your personal data? I get asked for my phone number or my postal code all the time but I never give it - haven't had any hassle over this. Stebby

big fat (not weight) loss question

Hi - you mentioned that you are working arms, legs and butt in addition to abs and cardio, but you didn't give any detail. Are you doing any weight training? I find this is critical for me to get my body fat down. You should cover legs, butt, chest, back, shoulders, biceps and triceps. You...

Nutrition - What do/should you be eat/eating before bed?

Only if I'm hungry, I have an ounce of almonds before bed. If I'm not hungry, nothing. Stebby
