Congrats!! Who's in for NJ RT 2011???

I'm also a RT newb. I have been a huge Cathe fan since '94, so this is a big deal for me. I'm so excited, yet so nervous at the same time!! Can't wait.

    DB needed for STS?

I used 35 and 40lb for one arm rows and a 45lb db for plie squats (alternating hands).

    Still no email confirmation....

My email confirmation was in my spam folder. Don't forget to check there.

    Adjustable weights?

I use the power blocks, which go from 15-50lbs. I did a lot of research before I purchased my adjustable weights. The biggest thing that turned me against the select techs was the fact that so many people had them break just by dropping them or having other weights run into them. I've been...

    P90X/Cathe hybrid???

Has anyone made a hybrid using the strength workouts from P90X and cardio from Cathe? I just finished my first round of P90X and miss Cathe so much! Plus the cardio in P90X...well...stinks :D During phase III I started subbing in Cathe on some of my cardio days and now would like to...

How to get a pill down a cat?

We had to give our two cats ringworm meds for 28 days. We would take a little piece of tuna that comes in a pkg (or can) and squish it around the pill. It would look like a little ball. Our cats would go crazy over it! They actually looked forward to getting their pill every night.

    P90X and STS

I'm just finishing up week 9 of P90X and I do love it; however, I MISS CATHE!! Prior to starting the X, I did a round of Insanity and prior to that I did mostly hardcore Cathe stuff. Cathe got me in the best shape of my life and then I got amazing results with Insanity when it came to muscle...

    Calling all Bookies...........BOOK thread!

I must be cheesy right there with you because those 4 Twilight books are at the top of my all time favorites. I am going to wait awhile and then read them all again! I felt just like you. I wanted to be a part of the book. Be in it. Know the characters in real life, LOL. I read a lot of...

    Recovery Drinks and Protein Bars!

Nuun looks awesome, though it appears to be more of an replenishing drink, maybe? The definition of a recovery drink as I know it is usually 4:1-- carbs:protein and is used after intense exercise to replenish glycogen stores and repair muscles...i think, LOL. Though I'm sure there are many...

    Recovery Drinks and Protein Bars!

So who here drinks recovery drinks and if so, what's your favorite combo if you make your own. I make mine right now with crangrape and vanilla whey protein powder. It tastes awesome! My hubby uses apple juice and his reminds me of an orange julius. Anyone discover any other fabulous combos...

On my way to run my first 5K

I'm excited to hear how it goes. One of the things on my "to do" list is run a 5K. I am so not a runner!!

This is just funny, 80's workouts...

That was hilarious. It's almost like workouts back then were made more for the sex appeal then the actual workout. TFS!

    I loathe leg presses!

I love leg presses and like a previous poster said, started doing them WAY back with the classic Firms. I usually use my 30 lb barbell because it's more comfortable for me to hold. It also depends on the speed for me. The faster I go, the higher my heart rate gets. Maybe you could add more...

STS Shock Cardio vs. Shaun T's Insanity

If all of Cathe's Shock Cardio dvd's were Hiit training, then it would be comparable, otherwise it's a totally diffenent concept. I'm doing Insanity now and will often do Athletic Step or Step Moves after my Insanity workout. I for sure couldn't do one of the 3 HiiT workouts afterwards because...

    Athletic Step or Step Moves?

I already posted, but decided today to do Step Moves after my INSANITY Plyometric cardio circuit. It was really a lot of fun! and I forgot how much the music does ROCK. Still not quite as challenging cardio-wise as AS, but I still busted out a good sweat, or actually kept the sweat flowing...

    Name Hang-ups

I did not want my kids to call my mom mamaw or grandma. No particular reason, really, just not names I preferred. My oldest daughter (her name is Isabella and we call her Bella) started calling my mom Gammy and it has stuck. Cute and endearing :).

i just did imax 3 all the way through!

Love is such a strong word! But it is one of the most intense cardio workouts for me that Cathe has produced. The segment I "LOVE" the most is when she does 50000 plie squats. Seriously, Cathe, kill me now!

    Athletic Step or Step Moves?

Depends on what type of workout you're looking for. I do athletic step on an 8 inch step and it's a thoroughly intense workout. Step Moves is a little more dancey and not nearly as intense even on 8 inches. My heart rate does not get up very high with Step moves, but none the less, it's...

    Checking in

Already posted on your FB page, but I did my Insanity workout, then the upper body portion of Body Max 2. That is one of my all time favorite workouts especially when I do all 1000000 mins...ok maybe more like 100, but none the less, it's a long one!!

ANYBODY THINKING OF ORDERING CHALENE JOHNSON'S TURBO FIRE?

This will probably be one of my next purchases. I'm in the middle of an Insanity hybrid of sorts where I do the workout for the day, but I usually follow it with more cardio from Cathe or some sort of weight training with Cathe. Today it was the upper body portion of Body Max 2. So right now...
