    Our dog died yesterday

Oh, I am so sorry. My yellow lab is really like a child to me, soI can only imagine how difficult the last day has been for you and your family. We'll be thinking of you, and of sweet Sandy. -Kate

    The Worry Wart Thread

I struggle with anxiety as well. Cardio helps some, making lists helps some, talking with my husband or other close friends (putting a perspective on things) helps some, but I don't think it will every go away completely. I've noticed that pushing past the urge to procrastinate has also helped...

How long have you been working out w/Cathe?

1998 for me. PowerMax was the first. Finding Cathe tuned me in to all of what's out there in at-home fitness, and changed my life forever. :7 -Kate PS I still love PowerMax!

    RE: San Diego info???

Hi Karen, I lived in San Diego for six years, and like the other posters said, it's a wonderful city with tons of things to do and see. If you give a few more details on where exactly you'll be staying (in the city proper, up north in La Jolla or Del Mar, etc.), and what you guys like to do...

what cathe dvd is your favorite?

Hi Jenn, I have trouble getting motivated for weights too. The way I trick myself into lifting is by doing circuit workouts. Cardio & Weights and Circuit Max are favorites because they have more pure cardio interspersed with lifting, but Bootcamp and the High Step workouts are great too. I...

Wow! You look awesome, and I officially hate you. ;-) (Loved the highlights picture too!) -Kate :7

    Some Unfortunate News!

Cathe, I'm sorry to hear about your setback. :-( Thanks so much for the prompt update, and take your time healing. Workout DVDs are not nearly as important as your longterm health, and I really think that most of your customers understand that. Best wishes for a speedy recovery! :* -Kate

    Augusten Burroughs

I just read Magical Thinking too! Unfortunately, I hadn't read Running with Scissors before reading Magical, so I'm reading them in the "wrong" order. Very interesting and well written!

    The Announcement - FINALLY!

Cathe & SNM, I'm so excited about your new venture and your continued passion for advanced workouts. BODYMAX2 (yay!) and drillmax sound especially incredible. I can't wait! -Kate

I need your suggestions on gym rules!

Champion makes a "long bra top" (really a close-fitting tank top that's made of stretchy wicking fabric) that I like a lot. I know that Title IX and Road Runner Sports both sell them. I totally hear you about working out in big T-shirts; I hate that too! -Kate:-)

    vertical intensity step

It's not a dumb question at all - "vertical" describes having the short end of your step point toward the television (or instructor) instead of the long end. (So, you basically are rotating your step 90 degrees). Now that I'm thinking of it, maybe vertical isn't the best word to describe this...

    Running shoes for flat feet

Here's another vote for the Asics Gel Evolution. I've tried the Koji and Foundation (both also Asics), but was still getting a lot of arch pain and blisters. The Evolution is the first shoe I've tried in literally years that doesn't tear my feet to shreds. I really do think that everyone's...

    A 60-minute step workout

YES, PLEASE!! Something a little less dancy and a teensy bit more cardiovascularly challenging than Rhythmic Step (like StepWorks or StepBlast) would be parfait! I know you've already done a lot of pure step workouts, but I think a lot of people would love something fresh & super challenging...

    ? on the terminator dvd

There are no premixes on this DVD because all of the workouts themselves are premixes. They pull segments from other workouts in the series. (hard segments!!) ;-) -Kate

    ? on the terminator dvd

Hi Christine, The terminator DVD has three workouts on it. All are extra long (around 70-75 minutes) and extra tough. The Gauntlet is a more strength-based circuit workout, the Viper is a more cardio-based circuit workout, and Imax Xtreme is just cardio. I use it a lot and think it's totally...

    Premixes & 2 workouts per DVD....Please!

I completely agree with all of these sentiments. I miss the awesome premixes, music louder, and multiple workouts on one DVD! -Kate

    Imax4 and Terminator 2

The Terminator is my ABSOLUTE favorite, and I would just bust my buttons to have another compilation DVD with workouts of a similar nature (1 more weight based circuit, 1 more cardio based circuit, and 1 super intense cardio :9) and intensity }(. I like Hardcore Extreme, but not as much as my...

    vertical intensity step

Love both of your ideas! The vertical step would bring some nice variety, and a steady state rhythmic-but-not-too-rhythmic ;-) step workout with some leg drills at the end (or even incorporated into a circuit section a la Bodymax) would be fab. -Kate

    MIC 2

Ooh, that's good! You're an evil genius and I think I'll be trying that one soon. }( BTW Cathe, if you did see fit to make another MIC, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. -Kate

Do any of you have one of these SUVs

Hi Rhonda! I have a 2001 Rav4, and I totally love it. It takes us up to the snow, but has decent enough gas mileage to handle my long commute. It's easy to get the dog into and out of it, and it's fun to drive. I don't know about the other small SUVs, but my Rav is definitely not large...
