Cathlete
I think I am ready to purchase my first Cathe dvd. I am thinking about the Timesaver workout for my first one. I think this will help me get into weights. I have no motivation for weights or core or stretching. So maybe this will help me.

I would like to hear suggestions from others. Thanks a bunch. Jenn

Hi Jenn,
I have trouble getting motivated for weights too. The way I trick myself into lifting is by doing circuit workouts. Cardio & Weights and Circuit Max are favorites because they have more pure cardio interspersed with lifting, but Bootcamp and the High Step workouts are great too. I like these because they sneak the hated (sorry, it's true for me) weightlifting in between some really fun cardio.

If you like circuits and are feeling more ambitious, I highly recommend getting The Terminator DVD. The three workouts on this DVD are compiled (mixed/sampled) from other videos, but it's still totally worth the dough. They're all extra long, and all circuits, each with a different ratio of cardio vs. weights.

Hope that helps! :)

SO FAR my favorites are KPC/L&G b/c they are just awesome workouts and the premixes make it that beautiful icing on the cake. and cardio & weights/IMAX2 b/c it has everything abs, weights, cardio. but that come a close second with Power Hour + dvd. i enjoy Power Hour b/c it has three tough workouts(one with cardio step) that i can do on their own or b/c of chaptering skip around and mix it up. unfortunatly there are no premixes on this one but its well chaptered and does have the mix and match option.

I couldn't say which Cathe workout is my favorite but I will say that Timesavers is my least. :(

It is more expensive, but for everything you need at once CTX is it:9. Cardio includes step, Hi Low, Kickboxing and combinations of them all. There are Circuit and Interval workouts and it also includes every single body part, broken down to one per day. (Or if you want them all just do them all at once!!!)

Otherwise I'd go for Imax2/Cardio+weights, Muscle Endurance/Bootcamp, Power Hour, Gym Styles or KPC/Legs and Glutes.

Good Luck choosing!

Terri

Supersets and Push Pull are short total body weight work with lots of variety, good music, and great premixes for when you are ready for slits or a longer weight section.

Bootcamp
all High Steps
KPC
Kickmax
Cardio Kicks
Leaner Legs
GSL
Rock Bottoms
MIS
Basic Step
so on and so forth. To hard to name just one.

If time is a consideration, then I do think the TimeSaver DVD would be a good bet. I purchased this DVD for my daughter as her introduction to Cathe, and she loves it and works out to it often, and is not accumulating other Cathe DVD's.

The suggestion for CTX is a good one, too, again if Time is a consideration.

Have fun and welcome.:)

An oldie, but a goodie--My current favorite is Step Heat. I think it has to do with the nostalgic feeling I get with the music and the hair scrunchies. Also, some Cathe quotes from it like, "This part's really gonna jam here. I know you're gonna love it." and "Looks hot!" I grew up in the 80's--can you tell?

Another vote for CTX. It is expensive but has a little of everything AND represents a complete rotation. The weight work is very manageable since you do only one part a day (and then one day of the upper body split).

I also have and never use the TimeSaver.

Good luck!
Marie
