The incredible hold exercise has on me!!

Jerry, I am sorry to hear about the loss of your brother. Good for you to realize the importance of exercise in your life. I seem to go through periods of time when I don't exercise and then when I begin again feel so much more energized. Keep up the good work!

    anybody watch monk?

I enjoy watching Monk. It's one of many shows that gets "DVR'd" and watched later. I'm currently several weeks behind, but now I want to get caught up quickly!

    Gotta love snow...

I can't wait for the snow! My family skis and this warm weather has been rough for us - we are ready to begin the ski season.

    real or fake tree?

Real tree. I always like to put it up as soon as we bring it home. When we get it depends on the weekend schedules. We may be waiting until the 18th this year (have a trip planned next weekend that we may have to cancel). Have always had multi-colored lights. Sherry

    Preparing for STS shock cardio

Hi Cathe! Since it sounds like the DVD's will be shipping during December, I was wondering if there are any of your current DVD's that would specifically help people get ready for the new stuff. Thank you for all that you do! You are truly an inspiration.

    Work meetings - food

Do any of you have suggestions for healthy breakfast foods a company could have for its employees at a company meeting? The company I work for wants to provide some healthy alternatives at an upcoming meeting, but the last time they tried this (they served special K bars, nutri-grain bars, and...

    Short, intense workouts

Am I missing something here? This is what STS cardio is (at least I think so).

Anti-Gay Sentiment Surprise. An "Ugh" rant.

Let me start by saying I have not read ALL of the posts on this thread, but wanted to put in my two cents. When I was a teenager (I'm 40 now), the idea of gay people seemed strange to me and made me feel uncomfortable. As I "grew up", I have come to realize that sexual preferences don't...

What's the Weirdest Time You Worked Out?

I've been known to start exercising (on occasion) after 9pm. Sometimes on my husband's golf night, I will put my son to bed and turn on a Cathe DVD. This is not something I do often, but have done it several times! As long as you can get to sleep after exercising, it should be fine!

    vegas/Yosemite/SF trip?

My husband and I did a SF/Yosemite trip 13 years ago. We flew from Rochester, NY to San Francisco, spent 2 nights in SF, then 3 nights at Yosemite, and another 4 nights in SF at a different hotel in a different area of SF than the first two nights. I think we did everything we wanted to do in...

Cathe's DVDs that use least amount of space?

Kick punch crunch is a good option. I have and enjoy 4ds, but bootcamp does take up a lot of space for SOME of the drills (others, not so much). If you don't mind something older, Cross train express isn't too bad for room. Another decent option may be IMAX2 and Cardio & Weights (this comes...

    Home Party Sales

The home party business always sounds great, but is much more difficult than most people originally realize. I sold Home & Garden Party for several years, but never made enough at it to be able to quit my part time job. My sister tried Body Shop at Home and several friends have done candles...

    I hate eating

Nicole, Definitely try to find something easy and healthy to make for yourself. I hate cooking, but love eating. I've got to admit I wish I didn't like eating quite so much. One quick meal I feed my family at times is a roaster chicken - already cooked at the grocery store. You can have...

    High cholesterol

I have been battling high cholesterol since I was in my early 20s (I'm 40 now). I cannot answer the question about coconut, but can tell you what has worked for me. The things that really helped are exercise, oatmeal (I love one of the recipes from the Eat Clean Diet book) and a change in diet...

How do you deal with cancer death?

Wendy, I am sorry to hear you are going through having a parent with cancer. I lost my mom to lung cancer in December 2003. She went into the hospital and 10 days later had died. Our family had no idea she had cancer (I think she may have known something was seriously wrong, but did not...

    Who's your jerk at work?

Mine is a co-worker my boss hired about 2 1/2 years ago. I have been at this company for over 5 years now and this person wouldn't ask ANY questions when she started and acts like she knows everything. Most of the people in my office can't stand her, but my boss doesn't see the negative. I...
