    How to classify spinning workouts?

That depends on the spinning workout. I'd say Cathe are intervals, but I just did a Spinning DVD this weekend that is a pure steady-state, endurance ride.

    Its good for your bones

Ever golfed 18 holes? You will be sore the next day! Excellent workout. I think it's a sport for perfectionists though. I've only been a few times, but could totally see enjoying it a lot!

    Turbo bar

I love this one. I go to this one frequently when I'm feeling tired. I try to fake out my brain, because I figure "hey, I get to be barefoot, and no jumping around or lifting weights or anything "hard" ". Then, by the time I'm done, I'm sweating, my legs are burnt out, my heart is pounding...

    super tight hamstrings?

YOGA - it will stretch the hamstrings, your hip flexors, your buttocks (not just your butt, but the portions that sweep out around your hip) - pigeon pose is great for that, your quads, etc. It will do wonders for you. Another great DVD to start with is the new core conditioning and stretch...

How do you stop your child from picking at scabs?

How old is the kid? For younger kids, I think it's just something they do. I occassionally still do it and I'm 47!!

Not everyone is 5'2" - or physics matters.

Obviously!! It's an example of physics! The assumption was equal fitness levels. Bye bye!!

Not everyone is 5'2" - or physics matters.

No offense taken. I did use the phrase "wee bit." My point is probably best illuminated when looking at gymnasts. There is a reason the elite in ghat sport (including the men) are all tiny little people. A body of 5'6" or more is huge and simply can't do what a body of 4'8" can do. And...

Not everyone is 5'2" - or physics matters.

I never said to keep the pace low. Just not Speedy Gonzalez fast. The science you are looking for is called Physics. If you google physics and fitness you will find tons of information. Things that apply include gravity, levers, mass v velocity, etc.

Not everyone is 5'2" - or physics matters.

Oh, yes, I forgot about tubing/band involved moves. For the seated stuff I just don't cross the band/tube, but for the overhead stuff I simply can't do it. I use dumbbells instead. I too have long limbs, so that tube is not getting up there at its current length. Nanbo - you are too funny!

Not everyone is 5'2" - or physics matters.

Cathe - just one thought/consideration for the new workouts. I LOVE, LOVE Xtrain and LIS, but I noticed on several workouts, you move rather quickly through some of the moves. I know I can do the moves but really struggle to keep your pace. Then I realized -- I'm 5'8". It is not physically...

    Cathe, 1" risers possibly?

The step is 4" and with one riser it is 6". I don't think one inch would make that big of a difference.

    Deva Vitamins

So, I know there are at least some people out here who take Deva vitamins. What do you think of them? Which items should I consider using? Are there other veg/vegan brands I should consider. I've been taking GNC vitamins for decades, but it occured to me they all have gelatin, which as a...

    Music for new workouts

I loved the music in Xtrain! The only song I really (really) disliked is the techno warmup on Ride. That electronic percussion is awful. I'm also not a Rihanna fan - anything super high pitched is like nails on a chalkboard. I loved the Van Halen, Journey, Furs, Depeche Mode, and other 70s...

    Innerthigs

Ditto on the Spinning. It's high intensity, low impact cardio and homes right in on those legs. (need to do some this weekend myself!)
