Strong & Sweaty BootCamp: You Can Do Anything for a Minute

Great. So it is NOT core, it is COMPOUND. Thanks for clarification. I prefer compound to isolated core anyway: compound works the core so it's more bang for our buck (and energy expenditure). Good news. Clare

Strong & Sweaty BootCamp: You Can Do Anything for a Minute

So here, you state one of the sections of each cycle will be compound, but on a later posted photo from this shoot, you state that it is core. Core or compound? Clare

Core or compound? A post on your FB page stated compound work, not core. Clare

Fusion fitness dream body workout vs tonique fitness

You might try Suzanne Bowen's Barre workouts, BareAmped, etc. Also, Linda Wooldridge has a lot of DVDs with a lower body focus that is built from high reps with body weight or resistance bands only, no weights. She has a barre/pilates fusion approach. I like her personality a lot. Clare

    Advice on taking a break

I agree with Elsie's response 100%. It is EXACTLY what I would have written, the voice of reason. You cannot live your life enslaved to your workouts. Life is meant to be lived, and to be lived differently. For 3 weeks, life will be different. Embrace it. See what it has to offer. Cathe...

Truly sorry to hear of your loss JeanneMarie. It is good to hear that you are doing well despite loss and sadness. Clare

    Love Handles--Older Women

JeanneMarie: I simply wanted to give a different perspective, as I always do on these forums. The phrases and words in your original text against which I was reacting are the following: 1) "excess body weight/fat" on people using the treadmill 2) "the secret" 3) "used to be a cardio queen"...

    Love Handles--Older Women

Well: Happy to hear that this routine works for JeanneMarie, but it would be sad if people took away from this, especially considering the amount of exercise the original poster already does, that even more hardcore, intense exercise is the answer to creating the body of one's aesthetic...

I'm with Janie and Justine. Good sense here. No need to pound the body to death. Female body needs some fat. Clare

    Info on new workouts coming.......

You don't need to be talked into keeping the order and or being talked out of it. You are doing a good job of justifying reasons to cancel your order right here! You also are not required to support every single thing Cathe does. Pick and choose those projects and products that make sense to...

How is this athletic but not bulky look achieved?

These are the basic lifts for the body. The trcieps and biceps do not necessarily require isolation exercises because the point is to choose lifts that work multiple muscle groups and joints each time. Therefore, the tris and bis assist with each lift and do get worked. Enough? If you are...

How is this athletic but not bulky look achieved?

Interesting article in Cathe's newsletter this week. Summary: explosive moves (either explosive lifting with heavy weights or plyo) builds strength without necessarily increasing muscle size. Other lifting will increase size along with strength. Conclusion of article from today's newsletter...

    Total body weight workouts

At 18 weeks pregnant, I wouldn't be looking to change anything up at all. Stay right where you are and make changes as the pregnancy progresses that enable you to have more energy and get more comfortable. The trend will likely be scaling back and down, not adding nor increasing, apart from...
