    55 years old -depressed...

Don't give up, no matter what! The fact that you are walking is great, just keep that up. The suggestion to try the Low Impact series is a good one -- if you were to do just one, I would suggest Turbo Barre. It's so different from the traditional weight training that you said had bulked you up...

    20 Years!

You will have a great time! I went to Glassboro on a RT a couple of years ago and everyone was so fun and friendly -- Cathe most of all! I totally understand when you say it's like a bizarre dream, though. During one of the classes with Cathe she was actually on the other side of my step...

How Often do you get on the scale?

I sold my scale at a yard scale last summer. Hadn't used it in ages.:D Now, I go by how my clothes fit and my waist measurement. I only get weighed at the doctor's office; I have an appointment next week so I'm sure the number will be an interesting bit of news. I try to be extra-good with diet...

Memorable lines said by an instructor

On Turbo Barre, when Cathe talks about going "deeplier." (There have been posts about this before http://cathe.com/forum/f115/turbobarre-has-expanded-my-vocabulary-286394/ ) Funny, but it absolutely makes perfect sense in the moment, even thought it's not really a word -- at least not...

    Whitney housten

This was very sad news indeed but, as others have said, not shocking, unfortunately. I had really been hoping that she could overcome her demons. I hope now that she can rest in peace at last.

I'll be here to answer your questions...

Hi Cathe! The new workouts sound fabulous! But I'm wondering -- are there plans for a Turbo Barre 2 in the future? Thanks!:D

    Traveling & Fitness

Turbo Barre on a download is also a great travel routine (even with no weights for the upper body work, and just using a chair instead of a barre). But seriously, if you're going to backpacking for days on end, I'm guessing the last thing you'll be worrying about is staying fit! :eek...

    Post Super Bowl Workout

Our snacks were pretty healthy (stuffed mushrooms, nacho pie with low-fat cheese, low-fat beef etc), but I think I just had a little too much of everything! So it's Turbo Barre for me today!

    Magic Jack Phone Service

My DH and I just got MagicJack Plus. We were extremely tired of our phone company's exorbitant rates (plus all sorts of added fees and services which seemed to expand every month), not to mention the terrible and rude customer service. As for MagicJack, so far so good. It wasn't too...

    Who's working out this weekend?

I did a 4-mile walk with DH this morning, and will do some yoga before bed tonight (30 minutes of Blissology). Planning to do a 14-mile bike ride on Sunday, and Blissology's weekend practice. Also working around NFL playoff TV schedule! :D

    Ankle Weights with Turbo Barre?

Wow, I cannot even imagine doing Turbo Barre with ankle weights!:eek::eek: When doing TB, I feel the sensation in both my standing leg and "working" leg, but differently. My standing leg burns but in many of the moves, my working leg is on fire even more from the sheer effort of trying...

Turbo Barre - chair or tower

I use a bar-type stool with a back that rises to waist height, and it's just right. I've also used a dining room chair with a slightly higher back and that works fine too.

    New Year's Resolutions?

I'm vowing to watch less television (she writes from her laptop, while sitting in front of the TV watching football!) Well, I'm not really a football fan so I'm only half-watching, so this doesn't really count, right?:p

    Turbo Barre pleasantly surprised

I second the request for Turbo Barre 2!! I have other barre workouts but am really loving Cathe's take on barre, not to mention the results. I've been working TB into my rotations 1-2 times a week and am very happy with it.:D:D

    Your New Year workouts!

Turbo Barre. I'm determined to work it in at least once a week in 2012. I love it, and love the results so far!!!:D:D

Cathe Barbell- like the old Firm one

I love my "old" Firm barbell!!:D It's actually as good as new, the padding is perfect, and I can lift really heavy with it (or at least as heavy as I need!) It's seen me through every lifting fad that's out there. It's one of the best fitness purchases I've ever made!:D:D:D

not able to advance in Turbo Barre

Natasha-- I agree with EllieB. Barre-type routines can be really challenging because they do use different muscles -- accessory muscles as Ellie noted -- smaller muscle groups that are not used nearly as much in "traditional" weight workouts. So yes, it can be very humbling at first!:o...
