I was emailing my Aunt who's a link in a huge prayer chain and it made me think I should post and ask Cathites to do the same. A boy my daughter has gone to school with since the 3rd grade was struck by a car in the crosswalk at the high school. He is comatose and it's touch and go. He could use your prayers! The driver was a little old lady who didn't see him and I am sure she is sad and scared so please say a prayer for her too. Thank you!

Thank you, you guys. I can only imagine what his parents are going through. He's an honor student and an athlete and he suffered a head injury as well as injury to his lungs and kidneys. I pray not only that he survives but that he recovers fully. It's very scary and so sad. But he has youth and vitality on his side and where there's life, there's hope. I let you guys know how he's doing.

Ali reports that, although he has not regained consciousness, he smiles and squeezes hands when someone speaks to him. He's had hundreds of visitors and there are hundreds and hundreds of red hearts with his name written on them all over the school.

That sounds like a positive response! Hoping to hear more good news as time goes on. Boy, we just don't know what a day will bring. One of my students who is a school teacher has a close teacher/friend that was at "6th. Grade Camp" this past week and one of the lil' 6th. grade girls was using a broom to clean up and accidentally backed into the teaher and hit her in her eye. She lost her eye!!! I cannot even imagine what she is going thru or the poor lil' girl! My heart just ached sooo bad when she was telling me the story during class. Give all your loved ones a BIG hug all!

Oh, Debbie, that is so awful. I hate becoming more aware of my blessings because these things happen. I have such great kids and they are growing up well. As per your order, I hugged my Sydney and she hugged me back, hard. Ali and Sam are sleeping but I'll get them tomorrow. I think it's a great sign too, Debbie, and oh, that tomorrow he opens his eyes and comes back. Sweet dreams you all. I am going to bed and I hope to hear good news tomorrow. And thanks again. You guys are wonderful.
