Your favorite fruit of the moment

Hello everyone. Wow, I am in a total fruit rut. I have had 2 clementines per day at lunch since I think December. I am getting kind of sick of them (gee, why?) and don't know what to replace it with. What fruits are in season right now? What is your favorite fruit? Please help me out of my rut!!!

TIA,

Karin

Karin-

I recently discovered the Can-a-dew melon at my local produce market. YUM!!!! Cross between a cantaloupe and a honeydew, and small like a softball. :9

I'm in a total melon rut, and I swear I've never had a clementine (what do they taste like?). I've had some pears, which were good, and a few good apples and some great blackberries. I think right now it's hit or miss for all the super great tasting fruits. I've also had some yummy watermelon! Oooh and a pineapple last weekend that was delish from Costa Rica or someplace.

LOL, I'm not sure I've helped you in the slightest! Sorry!

Clinton Kelly. :)

Seriously, berries are just coming into season (at least here in the northeast). They're my favorites b/c they're really low carb, esp. strawberries. And whipped cream is zero carb, so they make a tasty little dessert.

I love mango, berries, pineapples and watermelon. Have to go easy on the watermelon or I'll be running to the bathroom too often.

Apples, bananas and oranges are great staples to mix up with the really yummy fruit so you won't get sick of any of it. Truthfully, I love bananas and can only go so long without an apple before I feel deprived.

That said, strawberries are in season down here, and I can eat my weight in them. I can't wait for peaches and nectarines, and I have 5 blueberry bushes in my yard that are positively loaded down with fruit (not ripe yet, so I have a month or so to wait). Cantaloupe is delicious! I grew a melon once called a Jenny Lind - oh my was that something else! I've never seen them in the stores though.

Right now I've been enjoying Mango's, pineapple, kiwi's (thanks to Costco:))and your basic granny smith apples and oranges.

I love fresh blueberries, but they are so expensive here that I usually buy them frozen for a fraction of the price, but I eat them almost everyday.

I eat a bowl of fruit each day. I usually have cantaloupe, strawberries and grapes. Most days I eat an orange with lunch. Today I only had a banana and strawberries.

Strawberries!! I mix them in with my oatmeal. High in antioxidents, high thermic affect...love them!

When I am craving sugar, I eat grapes.

My favorite are bananas. I HAVE to have one every morning in my oatmeal. I make special trips to the store just to get them if I'm out.

In addition to that though I've been eating grapes, apples, blueberries (I put frozen blueberries in my yogurt... yummy) and kiwi.

Asian Pear! I love them cut up and thrown into a salad with a balsamic vinegar dressing, and some sea salt. The sweet/salty combo is absolutely addicting. Also love them just plain. They are incredibly juicy, and just plain delicious!

Right now red bananas and mangos. I'll live on watermelon this summer.

Hey, if you have an asian market near you, I'll sometimes go buy a case of Thai baby coconuts. I'll drink one of them every day for a week. They're so delicious you'd think it's sinful but it's not!

I love persimmons, but you have to wait until they're soft, soft, soft before they're ripe. Just like eating a little pot of jam.

When I went to Thailand, I think my favorite part was the fruit. I lived on the stuff!

i'm a banana junkie, too. i love them with everything - in oatmeal, mixed with yogurt, etc. on a ww english muffin with a little peanut butter is my indulgent sunday breakfast.

Another asian pear lover here!! I have an asian market near me, I guess I have to go check out the produce! The newspaper last week had a large article about pineapple in it....how to pick it out, cut it, etc.....made me really want one. Got one last week and the thing was gone in two days....and ah...I am the only one who likes 'em in my house........YUM

APPLES, APPLES and more APPLES!!!

I love apples but sometimes switch to peaches or pears when they're in season.

My Favorites are Strawberries, Raspberries, and Breburn apples. Or Honey Crisp Apples in the fall. But Laura is right berries are coming into season now, and they are really tasty and good for you. I would go with berries.
