Your favorite fruit of the moment

Yum :9 . Thanks for the ideas everyone. I am going to go to the grocery store tonight and see what I can find.

I'm totally into berries right now. I've been making fruit salads with strawberries, blueberries, rasberries, and blackberries. I mix a little fresh lemon juice, a drop or 2 of local honey, and some chopped fresh mint, then I pour it over the berries and yumm-o!

Strawberries and mangos, dried cherries and apricots, and bananas.

This time of year the supermarket puts me in a rut for fruit too.

Bananas are easy to pick.
Apples are expensive and no matter how I try, some of them are bruised by the time I get them home.
Peaches, plums, and apricots look good but are often mealy.
Oranges are good, but I'm so lazy I bring one in and it sits in my desk for days because I never get around to peeling it.

So I end up getting the same red grapes, bananas, and small bag of apples every week. Kind of boring after doing it all winter...

Some of the frozen fruit isn't bad, especially for making smoothies.

I can't believe I forgot papayas. I think they're called Caribbean Gold or Red or something, the big ones. Really ripe (hard to find them like that) with a lime squeezed over it. Heaven!

Wow…this post is making my hungry! I love gala apples sliced with a thin layer of fresh almond butter on them. I have been buying mangoes and bananas and cutting them up, putting them in the freezer and using them in my recovery smoothies. I also buy mixed frozen berries for this too. I love strawberries, peaches and nectarines too, but they aren’t really available just yet…the good fresh ones anyway. I did buy some strawberries fresh the other day and made a strawberry banana recovery smoothie…yum! :9

If I get into a fruit rut, I usually make up some little containers of mixed fruit cups and take them in my lunch for a snack. I don’t know, maybe it tricks me into thinking I am having something new and exotic! Lol…
