This is my week off from STS and I would like to try some yoga but I don't know where to start. Can anyone recommend a good DVD for me?

Thanks!

I do not see it mentioned too often, however, I love Deb Dobbin's Spirit of Vinyasa Flow. It has one 39 min. and two 70 min. practices. It has a nice pace and puts me in a great mood afterward - just perfect for my rest/yoga days.

Namaste Yoga

I'm planning to record some Namaste Yoga segments from FitTV for my recovery week. They are only 30 minutes long, and usually pretty good.

Its free and just streams onto your computer or use your netflix account, there are a lot of good yoga dvds on there. You can always use Cathe's stretch max its on fit tv. I tivoed all her wo (except the ones I own.) and I use the stretch max after my running.

For the recovery week are you allowed to do intense cardio or only low intensity cardio?

I just tivoed the namasta yoga on Fitv, they are great to do with the sts's. I enjoy it more than the extended stretch on the sts. Its shorter and makes you feel relaxed afterwards. Shiva Rea Fluid Power or Trance Dance works well also.

I also use the namaste yoga from fit TV. I also use some of the Netflix Yoga workouts that you can stream to your TV or computer. I also like Rodney Yee.

Ditto for Namaste! I have seasons 1 and 2 and usually use them as a post workout stretch or i do a few episodes back to back for a longer session.

I also like Ali Macgraw Yoga Mind and Body. It's older but i love the music in it and it's beautifully filmed as well.

I like Ali McGraw Yoga Mind and Body, and right now I'm doing (and loving) Brian Kest's Power Yoga (and sadly, I've developed a crush on him, too - eek). I have Shiva Rea, but haven't done them yet.

I've seen the Namaste Yoga series, but I can't get over the borderline soft-pornish way it's filmed. Remember in the '80s, on cable, those workout girls that were filmed - they were on a white set and the video rotated and it was all very weird. That's how Namaste feels to me. It focus too much on the girls bodies and faces and flipping hair and stuff. Creap factor too high for me.

I dig Bryan. :) You can't really go wrong with Eoin Finn or Shiva Rea either. Once a person discovers they really enjoy yoga, these teachers are great investments.
