XGrads & Nancy ~ Friday :-) :-) :-)

Cathlete
Good morning, everyone ~ happy Friday!!!!

Diana :: *lol* about having to explain the boxes. What kind of goodies did you score @ Land’s End?

Wendy :: mmm, yeah, I love all that stuff on the grill, too – esp. when things get a little blackened, which I know is not supposed to be good for you but I love it anyway. This time, though, I stuck with chicken, corn-on-the-cob, and fruit – I didn’t get near the potato salad. Hope you enjoyed the quiet time to yourself last night.

Angie :: I have SS/PP but have not used it much. Not b/c I didn’t like it – just b/c there’s so much to choose from ~ it’s kinda gotten neglected. I can’t even remember what the w/outs are like, to tell you the truth. I’m in an endurance rotation right now, but maybe next month, I will work those back in…I was thinking the *same* thing about Wendy teaching a bootcamp class – she’d be awesome!…Did you ever figure out the picture trail thing?…BTW, I meant to say congrats on the bathing suit success! That can be *such* hell.

Nancy :: in case you don’t check in tomorrow before you leave, enjoy your trip!!!

Well, I opted not to do ME after dinner last night…it was a tiring day at work and I figured the rest day wouldn’t hurt anything. I’ll make it up by Sunday. So, I’m switching up my rotation a bit and will do CM this afternoon.

Also, pick up your CABs ~ I gotta share some good news: I passed my comp exam, so now I have officially earned my Master’s degree!!! :) CHEERS!

All right, gotta get ready for work...have a stress-free Friday (down w/ the asylum!) and great workouts!!
Cathy :)

Good Morning Ladies!

Cathy: Congrats on passing your exam girl! WOO HOO! I knew you would!!! So now that you've earned your masters degree, where do you go from here? It must help you in in your career or you wouldn't have done it, I'm sure.

Angie: I would love to teach a BootCamp class, girl but first I think I should take one so I know what it's all about! LOL Besides...I wouldn't have a clue how to go about starting up something like that and I'd be afraid of failure!x( Thanks for the vote of confidence though! Makes a girl feel all warm and fuzzy inside.:)

Today is GSBS&B+pull-ups, ab work and cardio at the gym.

So I changed my work out schedule to go to the gym with DH and now, ofcourse, he's got an excuse why he may not go tonight. ACK! He's like most of the world when it comes to exercise I'm afraid and the gym membership was HIS idea. He said this is what HE wanted! I didn't push him at all!!! x( Ultimately it's fine cause I'll just go myself and I don't have to worry about bringing Joey but it's just soooo annoying and a waste of $$$ as well....GRRRR.

Okay, I'm done complainin' now!:p

Just got out of the shower and am seeing that we both posted. Oops!...Thanks, Wendy!! :) It does help...it gives me a boost on the pay scale...whether or not it will lead to a PhD eventually, I don't know. In the back of my head, I've always thought I might pursue something like that someday, but for now, I will be working on getting National Board certification first. It's a pretty tough process that can take up to three years and is designed to make you a more effective teacher. I expect it to be challenging...I can see why you'd be frustrated with DH not going to the gym. Maybe he should let his membership lapse when it expires.

~Cathy :)

Cathy,

I envy your dedication to school work! OMG! I basically flunked out of college! LOL And I barely made it through the certification process to become a PT! I guess I just don't wanna anymore! :p

DH's contract at the gym is for a year and it started in January so when the contract is up unless he's all into it by then (which I doubt!) I am going to suggest he cancel it. I may not be a member there by then anyway depending on where I get a job once I am certified.

Hi ladies,

My legs are sure sore from weights and bootcamp yesterday. I have Shoulders and Biceps today at the gym. Yesterday was the last BC class for June and we took our bodyfat measurement again. Although I'm only down 1 lb since the starting BC, I'm down 1% bodyfat. Last nights class was fun. It was game night and we did played a kind of tag game. The really fun part was when the instructor read a book, maybe one of you teachers has heard of it, Alexanders Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad, DAY. In center field, we ran in circle and everytime these words were said we had to do the following:
Terrible=10 squats
Horrible=10 jacks
No Good=10 sit ups
Very Bad=10 pushups
DAY=10 vertical jumps

Cathy-Congratulations on earning your Master's! That is such an accomplishment. I just can't bring myself to go back to school. I rec'd my bachelors an adult, married with children. It was so hard on me and my family, I just don't want to go back there. DH and I were almost divorced over it. I am so proud of you. We always seem to have a short supply of teachers and they are never paid or appreciated nearly enough IMO.

Wendy-I am sure you did not fail out of college-and so what if you did. School is not the end all, be all. You are a great wife, mother, and friend, and you don't get that from school. Congratulations on passing your certification. The bootcamp class is only offered in the summer-June, July and August. The are offered twice a week. There is a 5:30-6:30am, 9-10am, and 7-8pm. Each day is a different workout. I'm asking my instructor to email June's workouts to me. If you like, I can email them to you.

I'll check back later and see what everyone else is up to.

Diana

Hello all and TGIF!:)

Very busy packing this morning and yes, Diana, cleaning so I don't have to come home to a dirty house. I just can't stand to do that when it's already hectic enough unloading the camper and getting ready for the work week on Sunday evening. I haven't got to my w/o yet and DH is supposed to be home in a half hour.x( He'll just have to wait for me. But, since time is short, I think I'll do AllStep since it's just under 50 minutes but will still work up a sweat. We're also taking the bikes, so I should be able to get some cardio in there as well.

Laura - I read your post on the other thread. Would you be freaked out if I said I had sinus problems today?? LOL - nope - I didn't.;)
Fishmax - I hope Cathe doesn't come up with one of these w/o. LOL I like your backup plan for the fishing boat. I'm thinking plan B sounds better than plan A. Maybe you and DH can have some fun this weekend and bury the hatchet.:D
Glad to hear about the beach house. Have a great weekend!

Cathy - Congratulations!!!:) Awesome job! From a parent that has kids in school, I just want to say that I truly appreciate your dedication to being the best teacher you can possibly be. I'm so proud of you.:) I will tip a few CABs in your honor. LOL

Wendy - You already do bootcamp stuff on your own. Just inflict your w/o torture on others and they will pay you for it. Maybe when you get your PT certificate, you could start your own business and hold a couple of classes a week. Doesn't that sound like fun? Now I want to be a PT - ug - so many projects, so little time.:)

Diana - Is there any way you can post your June routine here? If it's too cumbersome to do that, could you email me a copy? I think you BC class sounds so intriguing. Congrats on your BF loss.;-) Do you attribute it to your BC class or the 3 w/o's you do per day?
I hope you get a rest day this weekend and maybe enjoy some CABs? We gotta celebrate Cathy's new degree.:)

Nancy - I'll bet you're busy getting ready to go. Have a wonderful time.

Gotta go and get sweaty - I'll check back Sunday to see what you all have been up to. Until then, have great CAB's and great fun!!:)

Angie

{{{ I foresee many .. many .. many CABS in my future }}}

:7

Hi again all

All Step is history. I love that w/o - the step section is interesting, I need the shoulder work (my weak spot) and the ab routine is good too, and at only 53 minutes, it's a solid w/o. I especially felt it in the abs after all the bicycles in supersets yesterday. Low abs are burning.

I too see many CABS in my future. We must be looking thru the same crystal ball Laura.:) A 2 hour ride with family (including the dog) and then I'm sure I will be super ready for a cold one.

Oh, and Cathy - No, I don't have the picture trail set up yet, but it is on my to-do list. Hopefully next week I will be able to get to it. Thanks for the swimsuit compliment. I'm not 100% confident yet, but hey I'll take 80% or so.

Gotta scoot - have a great weekend all!!

Angie

Hola, ladies! :)

It’s a pretty dreary afternoon here in South Jersey, but I’m grateful for the reduced humidity!

Wendy :: Well, you have a great husband and a beautiful son, which is where I flunked out. *LOL* My view has always been that having a degree or degrees isn’t necessarily an indicator of intelligence or success. I know plenty of people without college degrees who are brilliant and successful and just as many *with* degrees who are completely inept…I hear you on the “I just don’t wanna” aspect. It seems like I’m on the lifetime student plan – I did 4 years of undergrad, then I went back and did 3 years PT to obtain my teaching certification (non-degree) and now grad school. During each stage, I kept thinking, oh man, I can’t take this *crap* anymore. And then I keep going back for more. *lol*

Diana :: congrats on the 1 lb. and 1% loss!! That's awesome!... Thanks for the congrats. I agree, school is not the be-all, end-all…Clever idea to use the children’s book for your training session – too funny! I’ve heard of that particular title, but it is not one I own…What’s the word from Jerod? All OK on that front?

Angie :: thanks! Great job getting in All Step before you go. I hear you on the swimsuit issue! Have a great time camping!

Laura :: I didn’t read the other post since Wendy directed folks to this one (I imagine it is buried deep at this point), but I take it you are BBQing at the asylum. That’s a nice idea on the boss’s part.

Relaxing a bit and then will get to CM. Have a great night!
Cathy :)
