Todays workout is:
Shape it Up Lower (SS) + Legs & Glutes…. Wont be overkill as SIU is weightless work and different moves…. Should be a very very good leg day! :eek: Yoga’s on tap for AM (just way too hot in afternoons now)

My entire body is sore:eek: from yesterdays SS upper + Amplify Strength- goodness this change must be good for me…. My body feels like little aliens used me as a punching bag last night! Yowza!

News said that in the sun heat index is 120! No wonder I burned my feet walking to mailbox barefoot yesterday! Also heard that in last 6 weeks we had over 26” of rain! Thank goodness we are dried out for the most part.

My gramma lived in Sacramento and we use to spend summers with her – she’d take us to all sorts of cool places & we’d pan for gold (the old fashioned way) in the rivers! TracieX: No crazy workout for me last night:) only did Bi's & Tri’s did the workout twice, that’s it, I worked em hard. Did you say 120 degrees? I cant even imagine that much heatx( x(

My sister called me last night, perfect timing I had just finished my w/o asking if I wanted too ride with her to NY&C we ended up closing the store as usually. I only brought 3 summer tops and only spented $21 bucks, love them sales. Any who did not get back home till 10pm. Then I helped her look up information on the internet, that she most desperately needed for her job the women didn’t leave my house until 11:30. I was kinda pissed not really but there went my morning workout. After sis left, I couldn’t fall asleep last night to save my freaking life.

Workout this evening since cardio is on tab for today, I could end up doing any concoction, Tracie :p me thinking either a VERY long walk, or L&G (X)? or Scrambled Eggs. I’m going to do 2 of the 3 listed. The weather out side is delightful, meaning after I finish glutes or eggs, outdoors I go for a pleasant walk. Yay!

I still cant get over 120 degrees I would Pass out, really. Even as a child, wayyyyyyy back in 1910 lol:+ I can barely tolerate anything above 85 degrees EEk! ttyl

Rotation: Cathe's July 07
Workout: Wk1/Day 4/45 Min Interval Treadmill Run so I will be doing Cardio Coach #5

My inner thighs have majoy DOMS today. The B&G Leg Blast Premix must work the inner thigh more than P90X does with the Groucho Walk. :D All those walking lunges with the plie and then the mini jumps. OUCH!! }( The next time I do a P90X rotation, this workout will be a good sub for Legs & Back. It wouldn't be hard to incorporate the back workouts into this premix.

Traci, Life after the X has been fun, only because I get to use different workouts. But my weight lifting endurance is different. I am strong though. I still can do push-ups, but everything else is a challenge. Bring it On!!! I ordered Amplify Your Strength and Progressive Strength from Kimberly's site yesterday. Of course I made a mistake on my order, but the best part is I received a personal e-mail from Kimberly herself. I sent back the info she needed, and told her how I really loved her workouts, and please keep making more. She e-mail me back again. Very nice. Felt like I was getting e-mail from a celeb. :7 :7 :7 So everyone now can confirm that I'm a geek :7

Jeanette, Your vacation sounded like a great time. :9 on the Smores. I just love those! Have fun watching The Tour. We start our vacation next week, but will not be going very far away from home. No camping for this girl! :7

Wendy, Traci is right, when I did the BM2 upper body work it was like I had never done biceps with 20lb before. I was at 15lbs and that seemed too much. But this should confuse the muscles really good.

Amy, Very frustrating on the Certification. Up and Down today! Hope you find the middle soon. :)

Sandra, I hope you start feeling better quick. Not fun having to deal with illnesses in the summer.

Teddygirl, You snuck in on me. Sounds like a fun time with your sister. And yes you have to love a sale. Had to smile at the glutes or eggs.

Good morning!

Yes, a Thrilling Thursday it should be. It's not Traci-hot here, but it's hot for us ~ 30C, which is around 100F, I think? This morning I'm taking the kids to a water-spray park, then to the Street Performers Festival. Heat exhaustion should have me completely wilted by 3pm.

I completed Cardio Kicks yesterday, and it wasn't so bad after all. I surprised myself and really threw all I had into those punching drills at the end. Not sure where that energy came from (the cough medicine, maybe?). Then I did 4 rounds of push/pull ups. Last night I did the 11 min Mandala Namaskar I from Shiva's Fluid Power.

This morning was Butts and Guts. Oh, if there was ever a workout that I loved more, I can't think what it is. It just gets me in all the places I want gotten.

TracyX - Yes! I'm in love with Shiva's Fluid Power dvd. I have to force myself to pick a different dvd on occaision, so I don't get too burnt out on this one. I thought Yoga Shakti couldn't be beat, but I was wrong. Count down to vacation!!!! Woohoo!!!!

TraciX - 120?! Oh, I feel so badly for you. That's HOT!!!! How are you keeping cool? I presume you have air conditioning? I hope this germ is gone within 9 days, or even less. I'm not feeling too bad this morning, but I was glad that today's workout didn't involve heavy-duty cardio. Tomorrow's Cardio Fusion ;(

JeanetteX - Great to see you back!!! Your camping vacation sounds like a heavenly trip. Peter and I used to backpack all the time, and even did a 6 day hike for part of our honeymoon. In 1998 we hiked the Chilkoot Trail that starts near Skagway, Alaska and ends in the Yukon Territory, Canada. This was the trail hiked by the people during the goldrush. The amount of history that still lives on this trail is fascinating. I have ambitions to go back and do it again some day. Enjoy the Tour!

WendyX - You're such an amazing mom with your homeschooling that you deserve to slack off a bit during the summer. Although, it doesn't sound like you're doing that! You're still keeping those kids very busy. ME is quite an interesting workout. I really enjoy it, although holding the barbell plate for the leg presses after doing the bicep work is always tough! How'd you like the bicep work, by the way? }( }( }( For someone your height, you *should* be using only 4 or 5 risers for the leg presses.

LaurieXX - Is CC#5 a good 45 min interval run? I have one coming up in week 4 of this rotation, and will use that, since you did. You're adopting a puppy?? I must have missed that. Very sweet!!! I hear they're as much work as a baby, though. I don't envy you the breaking-in training period. I think that puppy is as lucky to have your family adopt her as are Brangelina's kids were to get adopted by them!

Amy - I just heard on the radio that Alberta nurses are the highest paid in Canada. About $45 an hour, as an average. How does that compare to where you are?

Anointed One - As usual your workouts are grueling. Where you get your oomphf, I'll never know. How's the eating going? Are you controlling the weight loss?

Cheryl - How are you today? How many more days 'til the evil SD leaves?

Nicole - Oh man I hate it when I lose a long post. I'm sure it was the best post ever written. How's your son today? Is his headache gone?

I've written all this using only my aging memory. If I've missed someone, I apologize. If I haven't responded to a previous question, nag me again. I've got to go pack up the kids and get us out the door. Some times that takes longer than the actual event that we're heading to.

Traci-X, Don't you just love be a whole new kind of sore? That's a good thing and I hope to be there with you soon:) If I lived somewhere that had a 120 degree heat index, I might die. The AC guys were here approx. 5 minutes after I heard the weather guy say "monsoonal moisture":) Stay cool and workout early!

Tracy, So glad you have cooler weather so you can get outside. It cooled down here for a few days too but it's supposed to heat up again. Have fun on the run and stretching with yoga.

Amy, Get some good sleep. You have been a busy girl lately. Hope the stress of re-certs isn't keeping you up.

Hey, gals - can you believe it's Thursday already?? I'm so glad!!

Our septic tank conversion is just about done. The inspector required us to have the old one emptied out and filled with gravel - not just by-passed - so that meant some extra cost and delay - but DH says he doesn't mind too much because he'll sleep better knowing there's not a tank of poo under our lawn :7 :7 :+
We were truly living on borrowed time, the contractor told us. It was ready to blow. That would have been a disaster!!!

Today will be an award luncheon where the agency will get an acknowledgement. Very excited about that.

Today I did Drill Max - all but final drill because I ran out of time, so 65 min instead of 75. I think the wall squats really got me :)

On to a few personals -

Amy, it was so much fun to talk to you on the phone yesterday afternoon!!! Made my day. Hope you figure out if you're coming or going and finish out a good afternoon. Did you find anything good while you were out shopping??

Traci, enjoy the SIU lower. Very clever of you to make your own SS premixes. I never thought of that.

Jeanette, sounds like a fun workout!

Laurie, enjoy that inner thigh DOMS. An area that it's nice to get worked. Hope you're not to sore to enjoy that CC today.

Teddygirl/Annointed - 2 of three workouts is a major effort, any way you look at it. Good for you! My guess is that Scrambled Eggs will be included as much as you like that particular mix.

Sandra, I just can't get in to Cardio Kicks. In fact I've pretty much decided to sell it. Hurray on B&G for today - know you'll love that one.

Nicole, I'm sure you can sub in some other yoga for YogaX if you want to. If you have trouble deciding, I'm sure Traci could recommend a number of suitable subs :)

Yoga was next…. **Progressive Power Yoga (Blanchard) just 20 minutes… Love as he says "If you aren’t enjoying this then you aren’t practicing yoga…." With that 3 of the people on video changed poses! ME TOO! LOL….. This is such a toughie! More Tony –ish (athletic) but with acceptance of Eoin. I still like Shiva the best for daily use.

Tackling Legs shortly a little later in the day…as I had to get the backyard mowed before the abusive heat settled in.

Well I was triumphant at the DMV after the 5th attempt, but it was a close call. They were going to send me away again, and I told the guy, that someone else on one of the 4 other times I had been there should have caught that particular problem. The woman next to me had been there 3 times. I think it is just a ploy to keep them in business.

Well off to clean a little and then go out for my run.

Cherly and Annointed - I've never done DM in it's entirety, nor scrambled eggs. I guess I have something to look forward to this winter.

I'm counting down the days for you Nicole, graduation is almost here.

Sandra - She does out do herself in the Fluid Power. I is enough different from Shakti that it is a great compiment. I'm glad someone else is enjoying it. I love the Mandala Namaskar 1.

Traci - I hope the bike ride goes good tomorrow. Are you getting up at 3am to beat the heat?

Hi Ladies!:)

Stopping in real quick. It's been a busy day as usual. The girls had art lessons this morning. Just finished previewing MIC. The step portion looks drawn out and boring compared to her other step workouts. As soon as my late lunch digests, I plan on doing MIC (warm-up, Hi-Low and cool-down) and The Bar Method. I may walk on the treadmill this evening since it's hot outside! I need to declutter the living room before I can do any step workouts. I'll wait till eldest son gets home. ;-)

I got the black Nike Funky Cardio pants from Paiva today. They look soooo much better on Cathe than me!!!! They remind me of boy's knickers. All that's missing are knee length argyle socks and a houndstooth cap!!:7 Well, that's how I feel and look in them. I think I might take them back to the store this weekend. I might exchange them for a sports bra or just get my money back.

BBL for personals. Gotta get some more laundry done.

Finished my YogaX then got the house in tip-top shape so DH doesn't accuse me of bein g lazy:) We have been having more $ discussions and they are wearing on me. He says because he works so hard he is entitled to get the things he wants regardless of the cost. He wants to get our 8 & 6 year old motorcycles and I say no way but he says he can do what he wants with his extra money. I know he deserves a lot but there is quite a gap between what we all deserve and what we can afford! I think the boys are too young still for the responsibility of motorcycles. The next door neighbors kids have them so I guess he's trying to keep up with the Jones':) The AC has been put on the back burner because I know it will be used as leverage against me. Just pray I don't roast to death:p

Congrats on yet another successful Yoga X! You are my inspiration. As far as AC- I wouldn’t do without…. AC is a FAMILY cost and one that can make you much happier! Being hot & sweaty all the time takes its toll. As far as DH- JOIN THE CLUB! When DH and I married he was living a lifestyle that just didn’t fit his budget… I had to TEACH him about saving for what you really want and thinking long term. He had never had a savings account… all his investments were losing $$$ & he was doing nothing about it…. Within 5 years I had him almost debt free and in investments/IRAs/CD’s. I know he wasn’t happy all the time (no new boats) but I told him my parents fought for years until divorce about $$$ and I was not planning on living that way. Stick to your guns girl… maybe he can wait 6 months with the $ in the bank… if after 6 months he STILL wants to spend it on bikes then so be it…. {{{{{{nic}}}}}}}

Off to find something to help ease the sore leg muscles!
 
Hey, gang, I think that I've finally settled down....snoozed on the couch most of the morning! I was wide awake and STARVING at 2a so DH and I went out for breakfast. Then grocery shopping.

Anyway, the cooking for the week is finished, no workout and I don't think that I'll get to one today, but I'm not feeling bad about it.

Traci- I was apologizing because I've had to change up my work schedule for the next couple of weeks and I know how that throws you off!;-) I'm working 4 nights this weekend, then taking the 2 day class on Fri/Sat next weekend, then working 2 nights Sun/Mon next weekend. DH also has a couple of diabetic education classes that next week that I'm going to, so for the next 2 weeks, I'm not going to be had home much! I tried to call you yesterday, of course, in the afternoon, I got no answer!;-) I think that you don't pick up the phone after 8a!!!;-) :p :7

TG- I also love sales....I just picked up some super cute pants at Paiva.com that were on clearance.
 
Hello :) quick check in. I just got back from my walk, it was so wonderful :7 perfect, I loved it. Scrambled Eggs was a blast, I absolutely love this workout. I am tired, hot bubble bath is waiting. back later.
 
I ALMOST lost my post. I got an expired page when I tried posting. Thankfully, when I hit the back arrow, my typed post was still there. So, I copied it and logged back in.

I think I'm on the IL. I accidentally dropped the bottom part of my Fluidity Barre on top of my foot when I was putting the barre away. I was sliding the left bottom leg extension back inside the main side legs while holding the top of the barre in an upright position. I had unhooked part of the top bar already, so it was only connected to the side bars and wasn't steady. The top part swung backward and lifted the bottom bar off the ground. When the top part swung back towards my body, the bottom part landed with full force on the top middle of my left foot. It all happened so fast. It was all I could do to safely lay the entire barre on the floor while screaming NASTY words!!!!!x( After screaming and rolling around on the floor for a few minutes, I hobbled over to my bed to scream and cry some more. A bruise formed before my eyes. Once the throbbing slowed down, I scooted down the stairs looking for Phil. (Remind me to have dc sweep the steps!) I wanted to yell at him for not coming to my rescue. He was at Home Depot buying the plywood countertop underlayment I made him redo!!! The man just can't win!;-) Anyhow I don't think I broke anything. I'm too afraid to see if my toes can move in full range of motion or point my foot. Right now, my foot is on top of my computer desk wrapped in ice. It's still throbbing.x( I'll wait to investigate once the throbbing stops.

Well, before I injured myself, I got in a decent workout. I started off with MIC (everything except the step portion), LIC (warm-up and first two combos minus the blasts), and The Bar Method.

Here's my thoughts on MIC:
First, were high impact, full support bras not available back when they filmed MIC????}( How in the world does Cathe shorts not ride up her legs like my shorts???? Also, eldest dd thinks Cathe looked older back then than she does now! I think she knows where in Florida the fountain of youth is!!!!;-)

Now, for my performance:
I suck at high intensity cardio. I am sooo outta shape cardiovascularly!!!! Did I even spell that correctly? The plyo jumps were easy compared to Tony's plyo jumps. I didn't mind the jumping over a pretend soccer ball (deep plyo kicks??). I forget the name. Anyhow, I found those to be a nice break from bouncing.:7 It was the never ending jumping around that got me tired. At least in PlyoX, we got little breaks between each move. I ended up modifying some of the high impact towards the end. It was quite comical to see my modifications. At least, I was moving!!!! MIC is something for me to work up to finishing. It's not a fun workout for me, but it's a nice change of pace from step.

Now, I think LIC is fun fun fun! I would have done more LIC cardio if the toe seam of my sock hadn't rubbed a blister into the side of my right toe by the end of the first cardio combo. Wanting to keep myself off the IL for an annoying blister, I decided to pull out the Fluidity Barre!:7 :( sigh

I'm a mess!

Now onto brighter things.... YOU!:) :) :)

Traci-X: Why does your inital post look so long? I have to scroll back and forth to read each line. It's worth it though!:) You're always doing so many interesting workouts that are unknown to me. I love today's yoga insight. Blanchard sounds like Eoin, "Now move the sides of your mouth towards your eyes. It's called a smile." It never fails to make me smile!!!:) Depending on how I feel this week, I might try Shiva's beginner flow again. Man oh Man! You are right again! Endurance is tough after the X, especially Cathe's!!! Interestingly, the Bar Method was easier. I want to try out Fluidity and see if those are easier now too. I suspect those will be too. If it is, I may invest in a few iballets and Squeeze. I don't think there's much need for divers in the desert. There may be if they need to fix a water reservoir? He won't be a diver until he passes his initial phyiscal, bootcamp, phase 1 physical training and academics, and phase 2's advanced physical tests and academics. I'm not concerned with his passing the academic part. I think he can handle that just fine. It's the physical nature of the job that concerns me. Phase 1's physical test makes the X look EASY!!!! Anyhow, if he passes everything, he'll be joining one of the two diving units in either in Virgina or Hawaii. I'm crossing my fingers for Hawaii!!!!:7 Now, now! Did I talk bad about my body? The capris don't highlight my lower body's best features as well as other pant/capri styles.:( That's why they, the capris, look awful on my fabulous X-bod! :) ;-)

Wendy - Love your review of MIC. I'm laughing.
It's the gal to the right of Cathe in that workout that makes me just about choke. Heavy girl with her hair pulled straight back that looks like she's straight out of the 1960s. That and the two gals in the big hair and the pale mint blue stretch terry cloth shorts in CTX are the most hilarious backgrounds in Cathe.

Now Cathe, in contrast, could look good at any age and in any era of outfit (although the thong up the but leotards really didn't make anyone look good).

I actually really like MIC for a change of pace. (Even with the dorky crew gal and the skating rink music).
