Good morning,
Rest day for me. Slept in until 7am. Probably won't be able to get to sleep tonight, but oh well. I did KickMax yesterday morning, and despite my intention to skip the LCDs, I found myself doing them along with her. My right hip was feeling stiff and I thought it might help open up the joint. In all, it was a really good workout.
Traci - well, I was sorry to see you post this morning. I love your chatter, but you are supposed to be living the high life this weekend, and not playing around with us. I'm sorry Sandy is having such difficulty managing these days. It must be extremely hard for you to see her in pain and discomfort. Did you at least get a chance to play in the new boat for a bit?
Amy - I missed the drama about DH getting a concussion!!
I wish him a good recovery.
Debra - Oh, that Squeeze workout! I think I'm reluctant to do it these days because I'm focusing on muscle building. I'm under the impression it's more for muscle endurance. Is that right? Have a great time with BFF today! Have you introduced the new boy toy to your DD, or is it too soon? Are you doing the haunted trail today? Yes, we definitely do hallowe'en here! DD#1 is going to be a witch this year, and DD#2, if I can coerce her into the costume, will be a caterpillar. I think DD#1 might be at an age to enjoy the Wizard of Oz, so perhaps we'll rent it some time soon. This is DH's 2nd time through P90. He did the whole 90 days last winter, and saw some improvement. This year I challenged him to P90X when he gets through P90. So far, he's on the fence about that.
Tracy - do you run in cold weather, or will you hang up your sneakers for the season? Yes, a weekend with no plans is very unusual for us. Of course, it took me about 10 minutes yesterday morning to make some! We ended up going shopping in the morning, and DD invited a friend over for the afternoon. Today we're all going swimming at the Y, then to a friend's house for dinner. There. Weekend complete. WoOz might very well be an American thing. I also have not seen Gone With the Wind, or Mary Poppins. I only recently saw the Sound of Music for the first time, when an American friend decided it was unconscionable that my children be raised without watching Julie Andrews. So, she sent it as a baby shower gift.
Laurie - wasn't it your DD who was getting confirmed, ah, this weekend? Is that right? I didn't realize you were practicing Catholics. Congratulations to her!
Carol - I hope your visit with your mom went better than you anticipate.
SwiftAmy - You're so close to finishing Round 2!!!! I'm extremely impressed by you. I don't recall any whining or grumping about being bored, etc. You and Laurie have my utmost respect. I don't think I could bear to do another 13 weeks of those same workouts. I went to the Wilton.com website last night and decided to make the Yummy Mummy cookies. Very simple, yet kind of fun. And DD can take all of them on the bus, versus me having to drive her to school with containers full of cupcakes. I'm going to give caramel apples a try some time, they're delicious!!
Nicole - Only one more day and maybe you can start working out again. Is your back still sore at all? In years gone by we've had smoke from forest fires blanket the city for days, and I can relate to the smokiness/breathing troubles. I hope you get some clean, fresh air really soon. A good hard rain would help with that, wouldn't it? My babe in diapers is starting to sit on the potty regularly. I'm hoping she'll be out of diapers, for the most part, by the spring. We'll see.
Teddygirl - Hello there! I hope your time with the sis and GD went well yesterday.
I'm off to get us ready for the pool. Have a great day!
Sandra
