Planned Workouts
~ Cardio X (I'm the only one that actually loves this one I think:7 )
~ Add Ons: CTX Kickwith weighted gloves + PY4H Quickie

DH just got up & its his 46th Birthday so I want to go see him... Shall return in a bit!

Ok- On the Dick Clark talk.... Here's my .02cents.... As I watched him still struggle my first reaction was like all of yours..RETIRE...then I started thinking about how we so dislike seeing people with anything thats not "normal" in our society... I wonder if Dick & his family are just so grateful he's alive and has a clear mind.... His speech is impaired but other than that he seems like the "old Dick Clark". I wonder if I'd have the courage to actually live a full life if that happened to me... or would I become a recluse?.... Kirk Douglas affects me the same way- I turn away because of MY uneasiness but that mans still living life to its fullest & I think it takes a lot of courage. I dont think I have the spirit to "put myself out there" if I became deformed, disabled, impaired... I would hope that I could ignore the fact that everyones staring & showing pity and get some usefullness out of life but I dont know. So my self talk on NYE became: "Way to Go Dick! May I have your strength of spirit & courage in my life. " just my thoughts......

WHERES LAURIE?????????

CAROL
What a GOOD Xer- repeating a week when not "required"! You will surely get the results you desire with your dedication!! My first round was P105X! This one starting to look about the same... Its all good! Wendy was a P125X I think & look at her little self:7
It feel good to get the house clean I'm sure- DH was going to take down the tree but I told him I had just cleaned & didnt want to have to do it again so its Xmas Tree til next week!:7 WOOHOO on the Mason Twists! Those are toughies for sure but I gotta say that they really bring out your core obliques like nothing else. You can add a weighted ball or DB, sit on a bosu or balance dish to make them progressively more challenging}( I do them all the time ARX or not! I cant get rid of lower pooch but LOVE my obliques!!~ On shoes... I feel like Tracy does... Rykas arent a good fit for me feet & dont seem to last... I am NOT a cardio queen and still find them wearing out way too quickly. I've tried all style and my right foot just aches & gets sore (pinky issues) - I love Asics & New Balance & Avias for my foot. I use Avias to run, Asics to play tennis & Ryka, New Balance for indoor work. Shoes are so important to workouts but so darn challenging to find!

SANDRA
Hope you had a blast at your dinner party! what did you serve my dear?

TRACY
OUCH on your ride! You actually went 20 miles???? I'm impressed! I cant imagine being so cold & trying to function! Havent heard you talk about your elliptical much.... I thought that was going to be your winter w/o partner. ~ I used the X Recovery Drinks RD 1 Phase 1.... They are awesome in taste but waaayyyy to high in sugar content for this addict. I ended up giving Amy my entire case. The sugar brought on cravings. I think you can pull up the nutritional breakdown on the BB site - I think LF Chocolate Milk and/or a green smoothie with protein powder accomplishes the same thing. ~ Thanks for beaming with me! :7

KIM
Congrats on Day 1 under your belt!!! I think Week 1 & Week 12 were mentally my hardest! ENJOY every minute!!! :7 So sorry about the interruptions... yet ANOTHER reason I dont have children- although the dogs do love getting under foot but 1 cookie takes care of that real quick!;-)

DEBRA
OF COURSE we know you love DD silly!:p I dont think you can possibly be the best you without a few mommy breaks thru the years! How do women do it with no resources to help? I cant imagine 18 years of no down time except hen they're at school ..... Fingers crossed that XDH lawyer doesnt go making matters worse to increase billing time! ~ Love the new Meez!!!! You are so creative! Huggers to DD... She's just a precious angel isnt she? :*

NICOLE
Well I am THRILLED to see you are ready to detox with me!!!! I avoided pie & bread at MIL's yesterday so I feel better this morning... I am waiting til end of week to see what actual REAL damage is on the scale... My skinny jeans no longer fit in the legs & hips so I think after a month of stress eating & virtulally no hard w/o's I have real fat & inches to lose. FRUSTRATINGx( I hope all yours is just bloat! Have a great day- your schedule sounds busy!:*

JEANETTE
  on your laptop! Thats just not right at all? Is there Lemon Law on computers???? :+ on the Indians helping you!!!! That kills me every time I hear about one of those call centers! :+ ~ Do you have to drive in bad snowstorms? Is your position at prison considered "essential personnel"? ROF on your pockets contents! Thats why were friends! :*

ALL caught up!!!

Lea, Swifty, TeddyGirl, Laurie, Wendy, Amy, Cheryl:::: Hope you are all well today and taking on January with a vengence!!!!

TRACY::::
Forgot to tell you.... I started NROL-Wm last night... Got thru first part up to nutrition & skimmed nutrition...

My first thought.... If the "rules" are the same for men why did he need another book? I think that may be answered in the actual exercise section tho.... I didnt like AT ALL that he "called out" the the womens version of BFL & the safety point made about locking elbows on shoulder presses... It just seemed to me that he was bitter towards this woman...maybe he wanted HER to co-author this new book & didnt...afterall it was a safety issue and although I agree with him that its not the worst thing to do (straighten your arm) its also not something that would hinder all results..If you want to "call out" a specific person theres alot of charlatains out there to pick on....just seemed like a cheap shot for a professional.

~ His nutrition section appears to be really good "basics" but he does poo-poo the idea that artificial sugars are bad in any way... he advocates drinking tons of diet drinks etc.... Makes me leery of his & his nutritional experts "expertise". ~ I really liked his NROL - men so I'm not sure why this one is rubbing me the wrong way... m sure theres value in the exercise program so I'll continue reading.... What are you seeing so far? Am I being too sensitive to his writing style & missing some important points?

Hi all,

I was running way behind this morning and I'm already at work, so I have to keep this really short.

On people with disabilities: I think Traci hit it exactly right. The first time I pushed a kid in a wheel chair at the mall was an eye opening experience. If you can just see the looks/stares/ etc. Most people are not comfortable with different, and honestly, the people with disabilities did not choose to be that way. The struggles they face, in many ways, are enormous. JMO.

On the book; I have some comments, but I have no time to talk. I'll post on that later. I'm almost finished.

Today is legs, kenpox and short yoga.

Happy Wednesday to all,

Tracy

Classic/ Week 7/ Day 3/ Back & Biceps; ARX (+4DS HIS cardio)

Good morning,

I'm feeeeeling GSLegs today, in my lower back mostly. Stiff stiff. AF arrived last night, too, right on schedule. Hence, the lower back situation. I need a nice, looong cardio warm up today, and then I'll have to take BB and ARX one exercise at a time. BB recruits the core in most of its moves, for stability. I'm looking forward to my recovery week.

Traci.....The dinner went really well, thank you for asking. The people are very close friends of ours, so we don't stand on formality anymore. Dinner was honey-garlic shake 'n bake chicken legs/back (dark meat; my favourite :), homemade honey corn bread, roasted baby potatoes, mixed peas & corn. And because the kids requested it, I took DD's leftover cake that had nothing on it, and spread Nutella over top. This, strangely, was the hit of the day. Go figure. It was casual and a good visit. They just came back from spending Christmas in San Diego. They had a really good time and want to go back next year. You made interesting comments about NROL for women. I'll keep reading your and Tracy's comments to decide whether it's a book worth buying. Last night one of our friends said I should go into personal training. I laughed and said I've got big plans for 2008! Happy birthday to Wendell!!!

Tracy....Good day to you! Are you back to work today? DH is going back, after over a week at home. I'm going to miss having adult company. Over the past few days he's gotten a huge chunk of finishing done in our basement stairwell, too. I wish he had a few more days so he could complete the job. Oh well. I checked out the April '06 rotation, and THAT is the one I will probably be doing after the X. It looks right up my alley. I will supplement the upper body work, possibly by adding a push/pull session of pull/push ups once or twice a week. When it comes time for that, I'll probably be asking you guys for suggestions. I agree completely with your and Traci's comments about people who appear outside the "normal." I have the same opinion about women who nurse children past their first year. It makes others very uncomfortable because it's not something we're used to seeing. It's very common in other parts of the world, and supposed to be really healthy for the children and the mother. The World Health Organization recommends nursing for at least 2 years.

Weight lifting question: when doing tricep extensions, which part of the tricep is being targeted - near the elbow, or near the shoulder?

I need to get the workout started. I'll come back later and finish up with yesterday's chats.

Have a great day! I look forward to seeing all the familiar faces back in action today!
Sandra

TRACY::
So sorry I forgot to wish you a happy fisrt day back to school! Are the kids there as well? Our schools start back tomorrow or Monday depending on the district HAVE A HAPPY - GO BY FAST kinda day!

SANDRA:::
A good resource for your tricep question...different versions & angles of extensions actually target various heads-
http://www.body-fitness-guide.com/Triceps-exercises-workouts.htm
~~So NICE your dinner was! Gosh if thats a last minute casual deal then I REALLY wanna come be your guest! A feast for sure!!! Now how on earth do you get Nutella to spread? I thought its consistency was like Almond Butter- Rock hard! LOL You will be the only PT in Canada that is a professional cake decorator! Is that how you'll get clients? Fatten them up first??? _ Hope that back works itself out today.

Good morning Traci, Tracy and Sandra. I am still not fealing 100 percent yet, so if I happen to do anything, it will be yoga with Eion. I can't wait to get back to Tony though. Today, I am going back to doing my raw eating. I kind of slipped over the holidays and I am paying for it big time. So it will be fun detoxing.

Traci - Happy birthday to Wendell. You are such a good wife. I can't wait to buckle down and read those books. Oh the things that I can learn. And thank you for the info on your dream. I do believe a hook up is a must this year.

Tracy - Wow, school all ready? They don't give you a break do they? DS doesn't start until Monday. Then we are going to be really busy. I signed my youngest DS up for all of these park classes. He needs to be occupied at all time because he has so much energy. It wears everyone out.

Sandra - Your dinner sounds great. Nutella on the cake? Sounds like a hit. I remeber have Nutella crepes in Paris and it was so yummy. When are you starting your cake business again???

I will try to catch up on the rest of you lovely gals later. But, I am taking a drive to Santa Monica with the kids today to a co op market(things are suppose to be cheaper), so that may take a majority of the day. Who knows.

We have a new gal joining us right? Welcome!! It is really fun here.
And hi to everyone else that I missed.

Lea

Wendy: Hello glad you are back home safe & sound.

Kim: Welcome :)

Good morning,

Round 2, Phase 2 Lean Rotation, Week 5, Day 1 - CST & AbX

I'm actually looking forward to AbX as I didn't get it in at all last week. Next year, maybe I'll plan it so that Christmas week is my recovery week. Just didn't work out with company here. CST was good, though I did lots of the pushups on my knees. I did increase most of the reps. I think my triceps are my strongest part (in comparison to my other parts).

Got an email from my Mom this morning that she and Grandma came home from the hospital last evening, after dark. No medication was prescribed at all for the fluid. Docs want to check her in a few weeks to see if the fluid around her heart has lessened. They feel she is in great health for her age. 4 days in the hospital cardiac unit to find that out. Glad she has Medicare and a supplement. I can't imagine paying the bill if you don't have insurance.

Traci, tell Wendell Happy Birthday. 46 years young! Why, he's a spring chicken. He's 10 years younger than my DH. What do you have planned for him? Nice thoughts on Dick Clark. I didn't see the show, but I think, more power to him. I love it when people can thumb their noses at what others think. Not essential personnel at the prison for sure, thank goodness and yes, I have to drive to work, but it only takes about 10 minutes to get there. Makes it nice. I'm sure hoping this laptop is not a lemon. We'll see what happens with the keyboard fix. I'll be talking to them this afternoon on some more particulars.

Tracy, always hard going back to work after some nice time off. I think DH was looking forward to going back. He hasn't exactly been working his butt off here at home, but did do some work on our pickup yesterday. He tries to help with some stuff so I don't complain too much.

Sandra, sorry about the lower back stiffness. I need to look at my calendar at work. I think TTOM is any day now too. The dinner sounds really good. What happened to the bananas on the cake? I thought Nutella was pretty stiff stuff too. Maybe if you melt it in the microwave?

Lea, have a nice time at the co-op today.

Latrese, way to go on the Doubles!! Go girl! Hope your holidays were nice.

Have a hair appointment after work today, then Ab Ripper X for sure.

Jeanette

Good Morning Ladies,

Basic Step was fun! Okay, a bit on the boring side. I can't believe I did that workout for an entire month. I really am a CA!!! :7 Never got around to yoga. Too tired from staying up past my bedtime of 3 in the afternoon.:p

I have no idea what I'll do today. I've been up since 3:40 AM. I forced myself to stay up till 9:00 last night. I wonder if this is my new sleep cycle for keeps? I tried going back to bed. That didn't happen. Instead, I cleaned and did laundry. Seems as though I am needed around here!x( After living with the bare necessities, I feel the urge to purge everything and organize whatever I keep. Too bad it isn't garage sale season. Look out Goodwill here I come with all my junk!!!!

In between cleaning, I started typing a post for my blog. I'll let you know when I get around to posting. Hopefully later today or tomorrow morning.

A friend is coming over today for lunch at the local Thai restaurant. Later, I've gotta return a "Happy You're Home" gift to Fredericks of Hollywood. Too big in the waist. I knew it before I even tried it on. You'd think dh would know my waist size by heart by now. sigh.

Until then, if anyone has any suggestions on what I should do before starting another round of the X, I'm listening. I'm thinking of starting in a week or two. (Like how I keep pushing it further away from the present.:+)

Sorry for the selfish post. Gotta get a shower before my friend arrives. BBL for personals.

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy

Morning Xers,

Happy New Year to All
Round 3/Phase 2/Week 5/Day 3&4
Workout: Back & Biceps/ARX/30 Min Run & Yoga (don't know what yet)

Have to do a little catch up because I was busy doing family obligations most of the time I was off. And I enjoyed sleeping.

I have found out that when you only have one computer in the house you don't get your DD's computer games and a webkins. :) Hope you all had wonderful holidays. I'm still wanting to be home, had a great time with the girls. We where playing board games, really got into the new LIFE game that the oldest got. Instead of paper money you use a credit card.

New Years Eve we had friends over and I make pork tenderloin. It seemed as if I was cooking the whole time I was off work. DD's requested their favorites Chicken and Wild Rice Soup from oldest. Youngest requested Lasanga. No clean eating from this girl for most of the time off. :D

See you all are talking about Dick Clark. I see him and Kirk Douglas as inspiration. My FIL had a stroke 15 years ago, and quit doing his therapy because it HURT!! Well to this day he isn't able to talk well to non existant, has a hand that can't open, basically his whole right side is useless. And these two mens stroke were worse than my FIL's. So I actually like seeing them on TV. Hope they inspire more stroke victums into helping themselves.

Traci, Tell DH Happy Birthday! Your DH is younger than mine. ;-) I have some catching up to do, but what book are you all talking about? Need to know what NROL is :D

Lea, I will join the club on the not eating so well during the holidays. Unlike you I will not be going raw though. :7 But I know it is good for you, so detox away!

Tracy, Back at work and busy. Me too!!! I want to be home!

Sandra, For a last minute meal it looks really tasty. :D We had a table full, so no last minute for me. I have a friend that works for Readers Digest and he gave me a whole box of cooking mags. I was pouring over those yesterday, while playing games with the DD's and cooking. :D

TG, Scrambled Eggs 2 is enough of a workout! :D You are having the double trouble like I am I see.

Jeanette, I had the same problem working out, it seemed that everyone came to visit us. I even went to Chicago with my GF. We had a flat tire on the way down, in the middle of a snow storm. :D Two very nice young men stopped and helped. My GF said it was because I was showing my butt while bending over to figure out where the jack was suppose to go under the car. :7 :7

Wendy, Glad you are back safe.

Welcome Kim! You will have a blast with all these Xers.

Have to get going, so much to do so little time. :D :D

Laurie

Laurie: Thank you for bringing that type O too my attention. I only did Scrambled Eggs one time, OMG I would NEVER/EVER think of repeating that workout, not in the same day

Okay I finished Day 2 of the program just completed Pylo. Man, that is a hard workout, my abs are feeling yesterday's ab workout. I have to run and take kids to eye doctors so will be back later for a longer post/personals. But just wanted to ask if you all use recovery drinks and if you do after just the weight workouts or for all of them?? Kim

BB and ARX are done for the 3rd time in phase 2! Woohoo! I am very ready for a break from CST and BB. The way they recruit the same muscle groups for the entire workout really layers on the intensity and fatigue. I'm feeling my entire upper body from today's workout, and my lower body from yesterday's. I just want a nap! My back cooperated today, but I didn't push it, either. It's been a mental and physical strain to stick with the rotation this past 10 days, with my bedtime and wake time being all over the place and being busy with all the holiday activities. I look forward to everything settling down again so I can get back to my routine.

Tracy....I've never tried the P90X recovery drink. I'm impressed DS is doing the X with you! That's fun!! I actually watched the opening of Biggest Loser last night. I've never seen it before. I understand that this is a competition to lose lots of weight in a short period of time, but when I saw the first challenge they made them do (run up the mountain and back), I thought they've made all of those people HATE exercising, and the second they finish the show, they'll never workout again. Maybe they'll prove me wrong.

Debra....I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that XDH's lawyer visit doesn't turn your world upside down. The friendliest divorces seem to go haywire once the lawyers get involved. Thank heavens for CB and all the thoughtful things he does for you. Ahhh, I see why you asked me about new workouts. Yes, Traci/y recommended I try something different, which is why I let myself be convinced to give a few Amy Bento's a try. But don't think for a minute that I'll be trying anything and everything that comes my way LOL! I get flustered just contemplating such a thing! :)

Nicole....Okay, what healthy food did you buy today that you're most looking forward to eating? Is DS done with braces for good now? I'll bet he's thrilled to be starting 2008 without braces!! Enjoy those Dreya rolls!

Jeanette....Oh Crap, I hate it when an exciting new purchase proves to be a lemon. 3 hours on the phone to India, trying to fix a problem? That would drive me insane. LMAO about the contents of your pockets being a microcosm of your life! I'm pleased someone else likes the idea of Shake 'n Bake :) I love the stuff. Haven't had it in a veeeery long time, but it tickled my fancy last week when I was grocery shopping, for some reason. The meal was tasty. DH thought P90X was okay. He's all into the idea of working on his flexibility - I think it's because he doesn't think he'll be working so hard LOL! You're a better woman than I to stay pleasant to your company for that long. We've managed to convince two of our friends to buy Wii's, as well as iMacs! It's fun stuff, for sure. The mashed bananas and berries went on the top only of DD's cake, and she's such a funny duck that she insisted we only eat the top layer of the cake first. So, we had an impeccibly naked bottom layer of caking still begging to be eaten. I'm glad Grandma's home again, and hoping she continues to improve. On The Biggest Loser last night, one of the men said he was ineligible to receive health coverage because he was 150lbs overweight. He tearfully stated that if he couldn't get health insurance, he'd failed as a husband and a father. This is an astounding thing for a Canadian to hear. A person's life and self-worth should not be forced to centre around a health insurance policy!!!

Traci....I don't mind CardioX, not a bit. I've done it for the past 2 Thursdays. Thank you for the link to the triceps page. I bookmarked the whole site; it looks really informative. I sincerely would love to have you and Wendell as guests. Just let me know when you plan to arrive, and I'll have the guest room made up, the table set, and clean towels in the bathroom. Which workouts would you like to do? I'll line them up in order, and have the equipment ready. Then you can correct my form in everything as we go :) I don't know about US Nutella, but Canadian Nutella spreads really well. We don't keep ours in fridge, would that explain it? My natural almond butter, which I do keep in the fridge, also spreads easily. The oil is monounsaturated, which means it won't harden when chilled. Added transfats or saturated fat is usually what makes a spread go hard. Is is possible that your Nutella and Almond Butter have added transfats to them? LOL about the cake/trainer dichotomy! You're right; I'll need to keep one side of the business hidden from the other! There goes my idea of advertising on both sides of my business card!

Lea....The cake business is on hold because I was getting tired of eating cake!! The problem with making cakes is I need lots of practice, and then had to do something with the product. You know, I should scout out the Wilton wholesaler that is rumoured to be in town, and see if I can buy some styrofoam cake shapes, like what people use for fake wedding cakes. I can practice on those, and not have to worry about eating the cake. Lea, you're a genius!! Thank you!! Good luck on getting back to the raw eating. The holidays are a tough time for everyone, but if you can't relax every so often, what is the purpose of living?

Teddygirl....Wow, you're still going!! Why, you might actually get that X beside your name!!

Laurie....It's nice to see you post!! You sound like you're having a great visit with the family. That's very funny about the flat tire. Are the RD cooking mags filled with healthy meals, or "traditional" cooking? That would be a fun box to go through, no doubt! Tell us if you find anything really different.

Wendy....I had to laugh in surprise that you're going to a Thai restaurant today! You didn't get enough of that over the past month? Enjoy your visit.

Kim....No, I don't use the drinks and supplements. I just have a lots of complex carbs and healthy protein after my workouts (aka breakfast), and a glass of Happy Planet Extreme Green Smoothie before the workout. Seems to work for me. Good job on PlyoX!!!

Have a great day!
Sandra

Fly by report... all workouts completed...
Started with PY4H Quickie- into CTX Kick w/ gloves (YOWZA on those arm drills w/ gloves!) took a short break and then whipped out Cardio X.... I'm fried and feeling the 2 days of intensive work EVERYWHERE!

Off to get details situated for Birthday Party dinner tonight.... XXOO

Good Afternoon Xers!

I'm back on track today, and I've even already shed 1.6 lbs of water weight :-O This morning's cardio was IM2 Blast Mania premix. It was fun and just tough enough. It was challenging after all the jumping around yesterday with Plyo, my legs were TIRED! I think I'll stick to lower impact stuff on Wednesdays and put the higher impact stuff on Mondays and Fridays. This afternoon I'll be hitting ARX and Back & Biceps. The fun never stops, lol. We're also back into homschooling full throttle again, which the kids are thrilled about (not!). They're doing ok with it, though. It's always tough coming back from a break. That's about it from here. Just back to the grind.

Traci-X -- What kind of NB do you use for indoor work? I'm interested in trying out all kinds of shoes. I like Rykas, but I agree with you about the life span. Happy Birthday to your DH!!

Laurie -- I hear ya on computer time! lol. We have multiple computers, but no wireless network (yet!), so only one that's online. You'd think being married to a geek would've solved that problem, but he's a lazy geek ;-)

Wendy -- Sorry to hear you're still fighting jet lag :( What a pain, but hey, you can your workouts in earlier now!! :D lol. I'd ease back into workouts, doing easier/circuit type workouts. When I'm coming off a break, I like to workout 3 days on/1 day off rather than 6 on/1 off. Just my two cents. I hope you had a fun lunch with your friend. DH must've really missed you to shop at Frederick's ;-)

Kim -- ^5 for your first 2 days BRINGING IT!! My first week was TOUGH! The first 2 days were the hardest, and then it started gradually getting easier. I have my own "recovery drink" that's very scientific, lol. It's just a cup of milk (I use 1%) and a scoop of chocolate protein powder. I use it after my main workout every day. If I didn't use protein powder liberally, I'd drown in meat and egg whites trying to get in enough protein, lol.

Hi to everyone else! I hope you all have a great day!!

Carol

Just flying by to say that I am having a tough day with XDH...It's been pretty emotional and rough for DD and me. No workout for me today. I should be back on track tomorrow....hopefully. I hope everyone is having a great day. Just not in the mood to chat right now. I will just be glad when he is back in Russia.

Traci...Please tell Wendell "Happy Birthday" from the gals in NC!

Tracie: Do Tell Hubby, TG said Happy Birthday:) how nice:) You guys have a great day. As for me, I'm tired, me going home and take bubble bath and going straight too bed. I had lots to do today at work, night...night everyone~

Debra ((HUGS)) I'm so sorry to hear that things aren't going well with XDH. Extra ((HUGS)) for your dd. Poor thing.

Traci Hope you enjoy Dh's birthday celebration tonight. What are you doing? WTG on avoiding the treats yesterday and lifting heavier than Cathe:7 Sounds like you're really on track after the holidays. What does SSE stand for?

Laurie- I had to laugh at the Webkins. DD7 got lots of them as well as the epets and Ty Girls for Christmas. I'm not used to sharing the computer so much. I took two weeks of holidays over Christmas and actually though it might be too long at home with the kids usually when I take so many days off it's to go away but I have really been enjoying the time off. I go back to work and the kids back to school on the 7th.

Wendy What does CA stand for? I hope you get back into a normal sleep cycle soon, I would not function well I really need my sleep.

Nicole- Ds must be so excited to get his braces off. I definitely remember the day I got my off when I was 17. Does he have to wear a retainer now.

Tracy- That's so neat that your ds work out with you. DH has started the program with me I'll see if he completes it. ;) I enjoyed watching the Biggest Loser last night I love watching the fitness part but do hate the game part of it all. There are some Canadian weightloss shows where they follow people trying to lose weight over 6 months but there is no game show piece. The shows come from Alberta where Sandra lives. Do you ever watch those shows Sandra? (X-weighted or Taking it Off) I was also bothered by the health insurance comment as Sandra mentioned just so hard for us Canadians to understand.

Jeanette- Glad to hear that your grandma got to go home. Does she live close to you?

Sandra- ds got a Wii for Christmas and we sure had fun playing it. Christmas Day we had both Grandmas bowling and playing baseball. DS played it so much the first three days he had it that he's tired of it now. Your dd seems to enjoy being in the kitchen. DS is in Grade 5 and one of his homework assignments for Christmas was to read 10 different things (magazine, comics, catalogue, recipe book, etc) So I had him look through the cook books to pick out a chicken recipe and he's going to try making it for supper tonight. I also wrote out the instructions on how to make coffee and he made the cup (and served it) that I enjoying right now.

Carol- I'm super impressed on those Mason Twist. I could hardly do any of those. DH had no problems with those but other exercises he couldn't do and I could. I always find that interesting how some people can do certain exercises and not others.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. Kim
