BBL for personals.

Lea

See what happens when I sleep 8 full hours? LEA gets up before me!!!!! :+ Good morning to you my dear and Tracy!

Yes Rehab went well - today my arm/neck/shoulder feel sore like it was "worked" but less bad pain...}( I think we're on the right track gals!

PT said I can lift upper body at 50% my normal weight load so I am going to do a full body today.(no kickboxing for 30 days).I go back on Monday for more and have 8 stretches to do 3x a day on in-between days.
I didnt take any of those nasty meds til right before bed and then to 1/4 of a pill to help with sleep- awaoke 8 hours later bright eyes bushy tailed and back to feeling like my old self!:7 For those who suffer depression I have such empathy now- that black whole for 72 hours was more than I could handle. No amount of wishing can bring you out of it. Scary stuff.

Shall return with personals.... :+

*Workout * ~ Power Hour + additional legs & core of some sort
feels so good to actually want to workout! Took those pills until almost 1:30 yesterday afternoon to clear my system so I had two rest days..

[i ]Hope XCountry went well last night! I bet its perfect running weather for you right now. Fresh cuts/color always lift my spirits. I am getting mine done the day before we head to CA in a couple of weeks… going to get a different look I think as it hasn’t been changed in years. Will probably stay long but go back to bangs for a bit and go darker for winter months LOL on Dh losing weight… reminds me of that commercial – “He stopped drinking sodas& lost 12#s I haven’t eatyen bread in 2 years & have lost 1!” ~GREAT WEEKEND TO YOU!!! [font/ book antiqua]

[i ]NICOLE - X [font/ book tahoma]
[i ]GREAT WALK! LOL on your “rule” You little competitive Xer you! ~I watched biggest loser a few times but didn’t like all the hype- I like to watch show 1 & the results show tho… reminds me of why I do what I do. I did cry last season when Kim said on the results show that she used to think of herself “As JUST a trainer” and she shall never again think of it that way. “ I was just finishing my AFPA testing so it was very impactful for me. LOL[font/ book antiqua]

[i ]JEANETTE - X [font/ book tahoma]
[i ] That’s so nice to hear that DH is happy in new position and you are as well… I agree- thee comes a time in life when you feel you’ve paid your dues and all you have given should allow for a few years of smooth rides. ~ ^5 on the golf outing! See? You knew you’d find your groove! HOORAY!!!~ Pt did a strength test and I was at 50% on my dominant side (injured) compared to non-dominant.. [i ]TEDDYGIRL [font/ book tahoma]
[i ] Well look at yet another side of our TG showing{TG}}}} Doesn’t surprise me at all girl- you have a good soul. I am so sad to hear about Ted’s illness but also know that as Cheryl said none of us knows what life has in store for us. What a wonderful love you must have. I have had 2 great loves that just never equaled lifetime commitment but there is never a doubt that those weren’t blewssings of the greatest loves available. I think this society tends to be way too focused on traditional forms of commitment- I have experience the spiritual ones so I have never been hung up on the traditions. The only reason DH and I married is because it was important to him – for me it matters not one bit. All my love & hugs as you fully embrace the time you all have. [font/ book antiqua]

Just an article I read on Karen Sessions Site about Building/Burning Fat etc... Feel free to by-pass this post if no interset..

Make a Committed Decision to Build Muscle
How to Make Your Program WORK
One of the biggest bodybuilding errors I see female bodybuilders make is the failure to make a committed decision. Many female bodybuilders struggle each week between trying to gain muscle and trying to lose body fat.

You need to choose one or the other. Do you want to build muscle or do you want to lose fat? Decide this first before you do anything else. I will tell you flat out that you won’t make any progress either way until you make a decision and stick with it. Once you make your decision, stop swaying back and forth each week changing your primary goal. Being wishy-washy gets NOTHING accomplished.

Note: Some ladies can indeed build muscle and lose fat at the same time. Usually beginners can experience this since most beginners don’t possess a large amount of muscle mass to begin with. This type of progress is temporary and when you notice it hits a plateau you need to readjust your goals and decision.

Also, those who have dieted off muscle mass from an extreme low-caloric diet or post contest diet and training can put muscle back on fairly quickly. With this scenario, the body fat can either maintain or fluctuate, and in some cases the body fat can temporarily increase until the metabolism stabilizes.

Your can build muscle and lost fat to a certain extent if your body needs to balance out. If after 4-6 weeks of trying to build muscle and lose fat simultaneously you don’t see any progress with either, you need to go ahead and make a muscle-building or fat-loss decision.

Building Muscle

Let’s say you have made the decision to build muscle. You will need to feed your body enough calories from proteins, carbohydrates, and even essential fats to receive the necessary nutrients to put on lean muscle weight. Your nutrients should come from whole and unprocessed food sources as much as possible.

While putting on lean muscle weight, there’s a 99.9% chance you will experience a general weight increase on the scale. If you check your body fat you may even see that it goes up a little. This is normal. You don’t have to fatten up, but you do need to put on a little extra weight to support building lean muscle tissue growth.

Rather than checking your weight and body fat every blessed day during your growth phase, watch the mirror instead. Examine your training journal progress. Do you visually see some muscle gain in the mirror? Can you tell that you added some good quality weight (in the form of muscle)? In your training journal, do you see your lifts going up each week? Are you increasing either sets or repetitions each training session?

These are the things you need to be looking for when your primary objective is muscle gain. If you constantly watch the scale and the calipers, I can guarantee that you will lose muscle due to your constant monitoring and stressing over meaningless numbers.

The numbers that count during your muscle-building phase are the numbers in the gym, the amount of weight you push or pull, the number of repetitions, and the amount of rest between sets. Keep your primary focus here when building muscle.

Generally, it can take any where from 4 to 8 months to see some noticeable muscle gains. Keep in mind this is not set in stone. Those new to lifting weights can put on muscle mass very quickly. The more advanced lady will put muscle on a little slower.

Whichever case, don’t put all your focus into the little weekly progress reports. Give yourself time, work hard and smart, and step back every few months and look at the overall picture.

Compare your beginning stats to your 4 or 8 month stats. Take your before measurements and compare them with your 4 or 8 month measurements. Take some before photos and compare them with your 4 or 8 month pictures.

Stop making muscle building a rocket science project and start eating right and lifting weights utilizing maximum intensity.

Fat Loss

On the flip side, if your primary objective is fat loss, then you need to concentrate more on your diet and progressive cardio as well as high intensity weight training. You will still need to feed your body the right macronutrients, but more focus needs to go on how you implement carbohydrates. Generally, carb-cycling is an effective fat-loss method, allowing you to drop body fat and keep most of your lean muscle mass.

Of course, during a fat-loss phase you will experience some loss of lean muscle tissue. To keep muscle loss to a minimum, your diet is of most importance. It is highly recommended that you lose fat s-l-o-w-l-y. If you lose weight too quickly, even if you put on muscle at the same time, you run the risk of destroying your metabolism, and when you return to “normal” eating you will regain all the weight you just lost, plus more.

While checking stats every couple of weeks is an effective measure to ensure fat loss, it can lead to a number obsession, and I see this all the time with my clients. Rather than focusing solely on your weekly or bi-monthly stats, use them as a guide, not detriment. The mirror can give you far more detailed results on how effectively you are losing fat than stressing over numbers all the time.

Fat loss is not difficult, if you don’t make it difficult. The biggest mistakes I see the ladies making when it comes to fat loss are:

1. Teetering between muscle gain and fat loss
2. Justifying cheating
3. Jumping from one fat-loss program to the next
4. Not giving any fat-loss program enough time to prove itself

Fat loss is not a one-shot approach and it’s not going to happen overnight. You have to feed your body what it requires to get the fat-loss job done, and give it time. Chances are you are not going to see dramatic fat-loss results over the course of a couple of weeks. You have to look at the entire picture.

Usually, you can have some prominent fat loss in 8-10 weeks, if you stick with your formatted program. After 8-10 weeks on a fat-loss program, step back and examine your overall progress. The big picture tells you more than the little weekly broadcasts.

Again, putting all your attention into your little weekly numbers can just set you up for failure. Your weekly numbers can hold some importance, but far too many people see it as a death sentence. Weekly stats are a resourceful guide tool and that’s what they should be used for.

Your ending fat-loss goal should be the big picture; the finished product. Your body will naturally fluctuate in weight and body fat percentage each week. However, what matters most is your final destination and how you get there.

Conclusion

It doesn’t matter if your primary goal is muscle gain or fat loss. For you to be successful with either, you have to know where you are going and you have to have a dedicated and committed plan. You need to be able to visualize your final outcome, and understand that you won’t get to your destination in just one day or in a week.

Don’t try to look like a model year around; it's not going to happen. To have that muscular and tight look you are looking for will take time building a foundation and sculpting.

The most important thing to remember is, don’t give up after a week or two if you don’t see the changes you expect. You must give a muscle-gain or fat-loss goal time. Nothing worth having comes easy, so put forth your best effort!

Best of luck to you!

Fitfully Yours,
Karen Sessions NCSA-CPT

Hello again. Yes, I woke up really early this morning, about 3:30. Oh well, at least yoga X is done. And I loved it. Kids were asleep, no one to bother me.

Traci X - I am so glad that you are feeling better. Yay. And yay that you are staying home. Guess I have to read your book that you posted when I have some time. LOL.

Debra X - ((HUGS)) I hope that your tummy feels better. Have a great yoga session today.

Hi to Sandra, Amy, Swifty, Anointed, Nicole, Laurie, Jeannette, Cheryl and anyone else I missed.

TGIF

Good morning,

I am feeling good this morning:7 like to take a guess:7 long nights, but good ones. I finished B&G leg blast, no floor work, ran out of time. Then I rushed to GS school, afterwards we hit the playground for some fun.

Tracie: You sound so happy and I’m happy to things are working out for you, who need injuries we’ve got too much to do, right;-) However, if you are still feeling pain, do you think that you should give it another week before lifting again, just me .02cents?

Teddy, came home last night, I was asleep, he woke me up with kisses saying I got something plan for you tomorrow. Me thinking pedicure, foot rub, bath and XXXXXXXXX I told him that’s going to all happen after my workout tonight, he said no problem we got the whole night and weekend. Did I also mention Teddy Ted is a cook, that man always want to cook for his me? and I like it. I’m so happy that we are back together, we belong together it has been established in heaven, that we spend our life together, it was love at first sight for the both of us, we are leaving the pass in the pass it’s onward and forward:)

Any way, hopped on me TM this morning, I tried so hard to get an hour in, but I would have been late for work today. Therefore, I cut my run short to get my ab in. Today, should be a normal day, work wise, and I can chat more YAY…I should return

Good morning,
Today was Slim Series Mix It Up. I enjoyed this workout today. It uses the band a bit and has a little cardio mixed in. A couple of exercises I modified for my elbow, but most stuff I can do. Have some shopping to do after work today.

Tracy, thanks for starting the post this morning. Hoping your day goes well and that you have a great weekend planned. Is DS done racing mtn. bike this year? Does he have goals for next year?

Lea, hi, love your meez! Nice to see you this morning! What a great feeling to have YogaX done already. I'm not sure I ever did the full thing while I was doing the X.

Traci, really enjoyed the article you posted. Makes good sense to me. Glad you are feeling better and on the right track. Please, please, please don't jump into weight lifting too soon. Would a few more rest days help you out?

Debra, LOL re: me scaring the golf lady off. I don't think so. Think we have about 10 more sessions to go. I'm having a good time. I've always liked riding bikes with others, riding horses in a group and think golfing with others will be a lot of fun too. Guess I enjoy my social recreation activities. Hope your stomach gets better soon. You don't want to be queasy with your friend visiting. Have fun with Eoin.

Anointed, sounds like some steamy nights for you! You sound so happy! What does he have in store for you today? What's he cooking up? A man that loves to cook. Hang onto that one for sure. My DH loves to cook too, but mostly in the winter. If he was home, he'd cook every day for sure, unlike his wife. I only like to cook when we are camping. Maybe that's why we go so much.

Hi to everyone else,

Jeanette

B&G "Floorwork and Abs"

Thought I'd pop in before waking the boys to see what you all were up to. I am doing my workout this morning then running errands the rest of the day. I hope to get back for personals in a bit:)

Traci-X, So glad you are out of that deep dark hole! I was worried for you. Don't ever touch that stuff again! That's an order;) On your way to recovery for that darned arm:)

Talk to you all later,

Nicole

Good Friday to all xer's!

Completed my wo. Yesterday I analyzed my body situation. Soaked in the tub, reapplied the dressings to my knee and elbow and rubbed the huge bruise on my but/thigh region. Yuk!x( Really, I feel great (better than I look). I will not attempt doubles until next week. Just stick with week 6 as planned. I must be strong, because I should be hurtin' a heck more than I do.:p }(

Tracyx, wow! Take it easy on the meds girl! How do you feel about doing PT instructed stretches 3x a day? I simply hate taking orders from a Phys Therapist. :-( Sending healing (((((((((((())))))))))))your way today:)

I'm at work, I've got to go. Boo hoo, so wanted to stay and chat.:-( Real quick---

Debra have a good time with BFF. :)

Wendy enjoy your late morning sleep ins!;-)

Amy how was breakfast with DH?:7

TG goodness, whoo hoo on the evening partay! Love a man who can cook!;-)

Morning Xers,

Rotation: LGI8
Workout: Week4/Day2&3/BBC Butt & Legs & BBC Arms & Abs (both weights only) / Cardio Coach #2

As you can see I didn't have a chance to do my workout yesterday, so today I will just do the lower body and Arms. These are very short workouts so will not be a problem. :) Besides that it is Friday, so the girls only need me for Taxi Mom tonight. :D

Oldest DD had a great race yesterday. She ran Varsity and came in 26th with an unofficial time of around 16:50. It was hard to tell exactly what time she came in. She will find out today. Her coaches where giving her ^5's. :D

Jeanette, I could send you the article that explains the rotation. I have it in a word doc. Just e-mail me at [email protected] and I can send it to you. I think DH lost some of his weight from the beer drinking also. Probably less stress too.

Traci, Soooo glad you are feeling better. Great article you posted. The advice in this one is dead on for me. :) The weather at the meet was a little scarry at one point. We had some rain/thunder/lightening so they had to delay the race for a half hour.

Cheryl, Congrats to you daughter Nadia.

Amy, Sounds like the co-ed gym is a great place to be. I like the fact that it wasn't crowded. Had to smile at the fact that the guys knew what you where doing after you started your deadlifts with impressive weights. :)

Anointed, Sounds like you are going to have a great weekend. :D I have to find my camera, charge the camera, take some pictures, then I will post. :) DH and I are terrible with our camera. :) We always think of the thing after we realize that something would have made a great picture. I need to remember where we put the dang thing, so we can get some pictures of DD and her running. :)

Wendy, I just love reading your posts. It always at some point makes me LOL. BBC is like P90X on crack. The cardio portions of these workouts are intense, and I don't know how the "floor people" can keep up. They have the step set at 12" and I get winded with just 8 or 10". But the workouts are short, so it works out great.

Tracy, Glad you are still calm in the storm. :)

Debra, Your BFF will be visiting you today. Did you get you housework done? That is something that I really need to work on this weekend. The kitchen floor really needs to be cleaned. x(

Have to get going, boss keeps asking me questions!

Laurie

Lea: why are you NOT sleeping young lady? Good job on your workout Yoga is the only workout I can see anyone doing, any time of the day, I bet it was very relaxing for you, Nice job;)

Debra: Do me a favor, please don’t mention hair AGAIN you should see mines, it is a complete mess. I'm trying to decide what to do with it, needing to change my look, I been wearing my hair short hm...about 12 plus years. But, get this I'm thinking about getting me some Dreadlocks:D been wanting them for years, on my our back from VA I decided it was time. Enjoy your day

Jeanette: glad you enjoyed your workout, doesn’t it feel so dam good when your workout goes so smoothly. Yes, I am very happy, thank you.

Did Cathe make announcement about releasing new workouts yet? I'm going to order after everyone gets there, and she begin dealing with us regular folks. Holla backx(

Back to catch up a bit before I start vacuuming and mopping. Got my hair trimmed...Looks fine...I won't know until I do it myself...although, I usually don't do much except put it in a ponytail!

Teddygirl...I am so happy for you and Ted...You sound great today! You know, before you posted your pic...I just figured you would have a huge Afro...maybe dreads are the way to go!!

Laurie...Have fun taxiing the kiddos around this evening. Give Cami a big hug from Polly...I know she would love to come and play with her. You must love seeing your DD excel at Xcountry!

Nicole....Waving as you fly by!

Swifty...Have some nice time alone today. Glad you are healing quickly...Just think how bad you would feel if you weren't as fit as you are!

Jeanette...Glad you are enjoying golf so much...Sounds like you had a nice workout this morning too. Shopping in Reno this weekend?? What are you looking for? Have fun on your bike ride on Sunday.

Lea...You crazy woman! You must need a nap! No, wait, that is me!

Okay...gotta go move some clothes around the laundry room...and finish getting ready for BFF and friend. I should be able to get to yoga this afternoon after I get DD from school since my BFF won't be here until around 7 tonight.

kisses to all!

Week 1/ Day 5/ L&G/ Round 2

Good Morning Ladies,

Woke up at 5. Thought about logging on the computer and playing. Turned over and went back to sleep!:7 Finally get up and found a mouse caught in the glue trap in the dining room. EWWWWWW!!!! However, it looks really cute... dead! I'm in a dilemma. Can't walk past the mouse to go heat up my coffee or go buy any. Phil won't get home for another 8 hours. Must get one of the children to remove it for me!!!! I'm keeping Baby away from the dining room too. Don't want her bringing me any presents.

Lea-X: I love HST! Glad you are able to still push play!!!

Tracy-X: I am so happy for you! Sleep and feeling back to you old self!!!! I can't imagine how painful this past week has been for you! HUGS!!!!!! How often do you see the PT? Is it 3x a week? Are you excited to be able to give your legs a break? ROF about the bread and 1 pound weight loss!!!

Gotta go and put on my big girl panties! I bribed Waves to heat up my coffee. I told her the mouse was dead. She comes running back into the living room screaming, "It's moving!" LOLOLOL

Wendy

Will come back with personals this afternoon as DH & boys are taking out the new boat this wekend... so cute- I walked into our closet and his weekend bag is all packed & zipped sitting by door... Guess he's excited today! LOL

Did Power Hour all upper... PT said ok to use 50% of old weights to start- NO WAY JOSE! I used nothing but 3,5, 7#s and STILL had to alternate arms for most.... One thing that i did notice tho was how mentally I have changed... Normally I'd be cursing myself for being so weak but I was in utter awe of how strong and lean I looked in the mirror.... I found myself just really tuning into my body like I THOUGHT I use to do but it was totally different today... It was pretty surreal. Didnt use BB at all as my gut said not yet...

I think I'll do my lower (standing & floor) * abs later after DH leaves....

Back for personals later- happy to see that so far today no new IL parties! :*

Debra: Huge Afro:eek: I did way back in the 70’s my hair is so damaged, wearing a curly itty bitty fro now, like my pic  not sure what else to call it. I'm not sure how Dreadlocks would look on me, not really my style; I may even look cute with them, Heeyyy:)

Teddy say NO, it wouldn’t look right, but he don’t like them, I been checking out a few ladies they look good, they definitely make a statement. It’s all about how you maintain them, I'd probably go weekly for washing and grooming, who knows. I guess you never know a thang till you try it:) :)

Mean while back at the range (((((((((((((Tracie)))))))))))))))

See, this is why I say wait a week or maybe two get full recovery back in RC you lifting now will only prolong the healing process, me .02cents. Nice attempt;-) ;-) My day is going to be long just got back from doctor, Oh I’m going to make doctor appt to get my calf checked out, am still feeling something:eek:  Ted, said I need to do deep stretching.

Hi Gang!

I'm here!! But not for long! I have to rush to get DD ready for a swim.

Today I finished up the first week of Cathe's June '03 rotation (SH plus cardio all week). I incorporated Sat and Sun's workouts into the week, as we're off to Jasper early tomorrow morning, and will be coming back late Sunday. We're going hiking while the pretty coloured leaves are still on the trees.

I made 3 cakes this week, which is the main reason I haven't have much time to chat. If you're curious, they're loaded on my picturetrail. There's Ladybug, cupcakes, and a white basket-woven cake with flowers.

I hope you're all doing well!!
SandraX

Good Afternoon,

Didn't get much accomplished today. Had eldest dd remove the mouse for me. We both thought it was soooooo cute. But, it had to GO! She put it in a trash bag and took it to the outside trash. She's so brave!!!!!

I made appointment for dd to get her shots and malaria meds before we go. I have to call the insurance company and find an approved in network travel center to get my shots since my general practitioner doesn't do all the immunization shots.

Anyhow, now it's time for personals. I taking a break from homeschooling!

Traci-X: Aren't you glad you know your body well enough to know what weights to chose for upper body work. I bet your PT was impressed with your strength!!! I do love my life. I think I would be bored and cranky if it were steadier and calmer!:7 The kids and Baby do keep me young and laughing! If you read my novel post to Amy, you'd see that KWIM = Know what I mean. LOL Usually I'm asking y'all to decipher w/o abbreviations!!! Thanks for the article, I'll digest it more fully this evening. WTG with the new outlook!!!! That's so wonderful to have that attitude! You are so NOT weak! This ain't no competition! When you're bringing it on, you are at your personal best! Hey, I should probably start taking my own advice!!!!!!!!!

Debra-X: You brave soul! You're tummy pains are probably nerves for having to try out a new stylist. Best wishes!!!!!!!!! Glad I was WRONG again! WTG for pushing play!!!!

TG: You sound so happy and contented now that you and TB are back together! And he cooks too!!! :+ Oh! I love dreadlocks! Thought about seeing if mine would stay in them. But, I'm too lazy to go through the process to find out if it would.

Jeanette-X: LOL on not getting injured during the X, but with a wimpy game. I don't know if Tiger would call it a wimpy game.;) Good job with the self alignment adjustment!!! SEEEEEE!!!! New golf clubs aren't cheap!!!! But, if it'll help with your elbow and swing then it must be worth it! Yes, I think a priest qualifies as an equivalent to a gay guy! Our family friend is like a father to Phil and me. I jokingly call him: my non-gay gay guy! LOL Hugs to your dh for working so hard! How long does he plan on working before he takes retirement?

Nicole-X: Have fun running around! Better you than me!:p ;)

Amy-X: Thanks for pointing out where in Round 2 you're at. I'm such a airhead when it comes to keeping track of where I am!!!! WTG for continuing as planned! You are one strong woman!!!! Did you do doubles during round 1? Have you noticed any difference with results this round compared to your last round?

Laurie-XX: Glad I can get a laugh outta you! I'm glad I didn't buy BBC. I really don't desire P90X on crack! I guess if I want a shorter workout, I could do halfies.

Hi to Tracy, Lea, Sandra, Cheryl, and Carol! Hope y'all are have a blessed day!

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy
