Good Morning Girls.

Today's work out plan is a lower body work out and MAYBE a short, slow outdoor run.

Jacque: LMBO at your Tater comment. I thought it was cute. I love taters too so you are not alone my dear! YUM! :) A Poochy roadtrip sounds good to me btw. ;)

Laura: Sounds like you had a good time at those ballgames girl. It's okay. You're entitled. You do double work outs when you teach. You are an animal!:D Sounds like a good run with the dogs.

Ang: Glad you had a productive work day. It's nice to get the desk cleaned off once in a while. Oh I already have the new running kicks. I was wearing them when I ran last!:eek: Good job on the X work outs! You are rockin' them as usual. :cool:

jacque- i will post a workout when i get a chance. if you go to her website www.valeriewaters.com she has a couple of workouts that are very similiar to RCR. i know one is called action hero workout.

angie- stay on cloud nine girl. you deserve it!! good job with the X.

wendy- how is that knee feeling today? it's time i got some new running kicks also. last time i ran i felt my shins starting to bother me. have you started sending out any resumes yet?

count me in for a roadtrip. would love to make that happen!

today i am doing a 90 min cycle class...get ready to sweat:eek:

Hi! Sorry I've been mia - I've been a little under the weather. So, no workouts for me - boo. Today I plan on doing a kettlebell workout, probably the kettlebell way and maybe some cardio.

Laura, I want to take one of your classes. A poochy roadtrip sounds like it'd be a blast!

Dee Dee, 90 minute cycle class - You go girl! Maybe I will join you for the RCR. Do you really like it alot? Are you tweaking it at all?

Wendy, How is your knee? I hope it's feeling better. Don't over do it - k.

Boy, it sure can get ugly over there - ouch.

Wendy - I thought maybe the new sneaks would help the knee. Poo that it didn't.:( If it keeps up, maybe consider seeing a doc?

Do you have any recommendations for a home bike? If I remember correctly, aren't you the spinerval fan? I would like to add another cardio option into my mix and a bike might fit the bill. I have a cheap one now that I don't use b/c it's not very comfortable to ride and I can't control the resistence very well.....it was a walmart special.:( I know you get what you pay for in exercise equipment and am considering a better bike.

Shirl - It's good to hear from you. Hope the yucks are heading on the way out and you get feeling better soon.
Ya, the OF is brutal lately.:rolleyes: Some people just take these boards wayyyyyy to seriously. I think hostility is just easier for some folks who might be frustrated and have no where else to vent. It's kinda sad really.
STOP the kettleball talk!:eek::p;) Those Cathe kettleballs look very tempting. It looks like they can be used as medicine balls or KB's I think. I might have to take a closer look at those. Oh my poor bank account.

Laura - Wha?? A Laura RT?? I was exhausted following the Cathe RT, but I can only imagine what I would be feeling like after the "Laura" RT. Sweat all day and party all night!:eek: OMG - I would need a week just to recover....ummm.....I'm in! LOL!
Oh, BTW, I heard that Larua is a tropical storm but is not expected to make landfall. Whew!

Feels like fall ...

Morning Ladies ..

it was 50 degrees this morning!!:eek: feels WONDERFUL .. I love it when the air gets crisp and you can breath so much easier!! :D

Wendy .. hope the knee is better dont overdo .. if it is fluid under the knee cap .. it will feel tight .. feel puffy but wont look puffy .. the only way I can describe it is feeling uncomfortable .. like my knee cap is being pushed on .. :confused: .. a strain would be more towards pain than being uncomfortable .. it would be VERY tender to walk on ... there is always good ole overuse tendonitis too .. tender/sore/inflammed feeling. If it is fluid or a strain .. take it easy .. ice it and pop some ibuprofen for the imflammation. Hope today finds it better .. but dont overdo it!!! {{ shaking finger at Miss Wendy}}

Ang .. LOL about Maggie .. it is hillarious when they go on thier "puppy runs" ..Buster and Toots still do that .. sometimes after a bath .. soooooo funny!!:p ... DH and the feilds .. he is getting them ready for deer season .. he will plant brown top and clover .. the deer love it. Have to tell you a funny .. on the run .. the strays jumped some animal and took off into the woods .. well .. I continued w/the big babies and went on home .. managed to post on the computer (shock) .. and went outside to make sure the other 2 came back .. well only one was there (the new puppy Jake) .. I got scared b/c the other one is up in age .. but finally DH came home .. I looked out he had Sally (the other one) riding w/him on his lap .. on the tractor!:eek: OMG .. TOO FUNNY!!! She went back and watched him finish plowing ... that dog is HIS baby!! LOL

DeeDee .. I am gonna check out that website .. been wondering what all RCR is about too .. thanks!

Shirl ..welcome back .. hate you have been under the weather!! I know what you mean about the OF .. GEEZE .. those women have some issues .. they dont know how to talk about somethng w/people w/varying opinions .. some of them think that everyone in the universe should feel the way THEY do .. no other option. I dont get it ... I welcome a different opinion if offered politely and not shoved in my face .. I mean you just might learn something or experience something differently .. from a different perspective than your life has allowed you .. you know!! We need to pass out some prozac to the OF!!! LOL

Jacque .. what's on tap for today .. think we are back to shoulders and arms today for us ..

Tonight's class is going to be plyo work + lower body high reps work + core/planks + a power yoga cooldown! Hope the GUYS show up ... they will be surprised I think!! They actually want all cardio (which is a shocker) .. but it would be hard NEVER doing the step to walk into my class ... they would not get anything out of it .. but w/PLYO work .. you get your intensity training - cardio - and muscle burning all in one whack!! :)

OK .. have a great one .. first of the month .. and I am not on the window (knock on wood) .. wonder if PIA will do her usual thing and lay out tommorrow ??? hhhmmmmmmm .. it will be a first all year if she doesn't !!! LOL ... BBL to see what everyone is up to!!:D
 
Just a quickie since I am so late and don't have time for personals until lunch !

Got up a wee bit late - definitely will never have 90 min to do a YogaX workout in the AM, so today ended up doing half. I was sweatin' up a storm but have too many old age issues and have to modify alot. Felt pretty strong though - I'll see if I can get the umpf to finish this afternoon.

So Angie - you do it and I will ! ! ! :eek: Enough of a challenge?

TTYL . . . need to read end of last night's thread and reread today's and will see ya at lunch (only two hours - gotta get a move on.)
 
Just reporting in ... Shoulders and arms are done! WOO HOO .. upped my weight a wee bit .. but then had to drop it back down! Hoping my arms will hold up the body during the power yoga cool down tonight .. :confused: ..

It has been a crazy day here .. customers are WILD ... is it a full moon?? YIKES ... ok .. gotta jet .. will try to touch base later ... ;)
 
Hey girlies!!

Thanks to everyone for making me feel okay about my rest day yesterday. I don't know what's going on with me this week, but I'm exhausted! I think I'm in need to some R&R, or I'm fighting a bug or something, because my whole body aches and I feel like I'm walking through mud all day. This morning I got up early to to Cardio X and I could barely finish that! And that's an easy workout! You'd think after doing Alwyn workouts for so long that my body would handle the X, but I think it's kicking my butt! That's good, right? But I've got to find some energy to keep going with it. I'll be doing Legs and Back tomorrow, and I'll get in Yoga X over the weekend, but that's it. The rest of the weekend is going to be all about getting some real sleep...you know the kind, the mornings when the alarm doesn't go off at 4:30? Yeah....a couple of those might do the trick ;)

About to get out of here for the day, but will try to check in later. If not, I'll BB in the a.m.

Wendy - hope your UB workout went well, but hoping more that if you did a slow run your crazy knee cooperated today !

Dee Dee - don't bother posting a w/o of I can check it out online. Thanks for the link ! WOW - a 90 minute cycle workout ! Do you listen to tunes, watch TV, is it a class?

Shirl - sorry to hear your health wasn't cooperating - hope you have the energy for a good KB workout today. I saw a few of those threads too -kinda weird, but seems like it goes in cycles - had the same thing happen on another site too.

Laura – way to get a move on and get home in order to take the “pups” out for a run before dark. When I read that I hadn’t realized how early it is getting dark these days until I looked outside last night. LOL at not remembering the Cab count ! Somehow you seem a day behind me - I did S & A yesterday. Please to tell if the GUYS showed up and how they did !

Angie – sounds like a few of us have those “monthly duties” at work ! I like it when it ends on a Friday because then I don’t have to accrue any labor ! Haven’t done much in the way of AbX – did Core Synergy and then with the sore abs (this AM it was the other side that was “talking” to me while doing YogaX). Started it last week but with a sore baack (yeppers – definitely feeling my age these days) the pike-type of moves while sitting on the behind stress my back. Just gave it up last week, but think that I’ll try later this week and modify if need be. LOL at Maggie running around the table ! Puppies can be so fun, and so frustrating too ! Did ya get into the Yoga today?

Jen - I am feeling tired too - think the "X" is just a hard rotation. Next week should be better for me. Usually two weeks of heavy type lifting and then I'm back to my standard energy level. Hope you get a good sleep in tonite !

Will pop back in later to see if anyone is still around ! :D
 
Hi X babes:)

Does anyone else feel tired after YogaX? I could just fall asleep during the corpse phase.:p Yup - that's my favorite move......had lots of practice with that one so my form is perfect.:confused:

I didn't get much done on my list today. I was too busy wasting time on the darned computer. Oh well, I did make some chili today which tasted sooooo good on such a wet and dreary day.

Laura - The terrrr after a bath is so fun to watch. She just runs and runs and runs.:eek:
Ah, so DH is a deer hunter? Does he disappear in mid-November for a week to hunting camp? Mine does. Usually he doesn't come home with a deer though. He feels guilty taking deer at his uncle's hunting camp, but loves to go there and party with them. Go figure.....
Don't go scaring those boys away tonight now.:D

Jacque - YogaX for you too eh? I hear you on some of those moves. The boat and half boat are moves I dread.
Definitely looking forward to L&B and ARX tomorrow. Well, maybe not looking forward to ARX.:p

Oh how I LOVE my no alarm days!!! Now, if only I could remember to turn off the phone.:confused: I swear some people are so inconsiderate when calling on the weekends. My family doesn't dare.....but DH sells firewood and those people call whenever they feel like it. It seems like especially the old men call at 6 am on the weekends.:mad: They figure they are up so everyone else is too. Problem is.....DH is an early riser and is hardly ever home in the mornings on the weekends. He gets up and goes to breakfast and then goes to the shop and piddles around with his tractors or snowmobiles or whatever toy he is using at the time.:rolleyes: So the phone rings and rings until the answering machine finally picks up. Ug! By then I'm usually awake.....grrrrrrr
I sure do hope you get feeling better after you catch up on the sleep this weekend. Hang in there!!

Looks like Miss Angie won't be the last to post tonight. That's a first!:p LOL

So today I did B&G Standing Glute and Ab timesaver premix but I left out the ab part since I did them y'day. My legs were screamin' for mommy the entire time!:eek: I took 2 ibuprofen after my work out (insurance for the knee!) and then after dinner, since DH had to go bowling and I didn't feel like sitting in the house with DS all night, I ran over to the gym. Never got to run outside this afternoon so I did 15 mins on the TM and then 15 min on the EXT. I ran slow but still felt something in my knee. :mad: It wasn't bad and when I stopped and moved over to the EXT I was immediately fine. I am icing it now though just incase. I would have run for the full 30 min work out if my knee wasn't acting funny but oh well. It's the back of my knee and when it's acting up it also affects my calf. If I bend my leg to do, for example, hamstring curls or to get into child's pose it hurts my calf?? I feel an enormous pressure/pain in the upper portion of my calf. Any ideas girls? I'm at a loss. :confused: I've had knee issues in the past that eventually worked themselves out but I've got a freakin' 18 mile race to run in a week! I need this pain to go away NOW!!!!:eek:

Okay, enough ranting!

Ang: I haven't done Yoga X in a long time. I haven't done it IN FULL in even longer :p but I do recall not wanting to get up at the end of it. :) You are not alone in that. It's a great thing to do at night before bed. When I was doing the full X rotation, most of the time I did my yoga in the evenings after DS went to bed while DH was bowling. It was perfect. My 18 miler is on Sunday the 12th! A WEEK AWAY!!!!!:eek: Now I am considering running a full marathon in Philly on Nov 23rd too. I must be outta my gourd! LOL

Jen: Yeah you sound like you need some rest. Don't make yourself sick (literally) over getting your work outs done. Start taking Airborne too that way if there is a bug lingering perhaps it won't fester too much.

Laura: Power Yoga after Shoulders and Arms!?! Are you NUTS girl!? Uh, don't answer that. I think we all know the answer to that question, now don't we girls? ;):D If you read the beginning of my post you saw the description of my knee issue. Any thoughts?

Jacque: So did you finish up Yoga X tonight?

Shirl: So what kb work out did you choose? I'm itchin' to get back to them. Soon enough...:)

Sunny: Nope, no resumes going out here. I'm working my little p/t babysitting job at the gym and am actually fine with it for now. I'd eventually like to pick up something that pays a bit more and gives me a couple more hours a week but I really don't think I want a "real" job quite yet. Besides, I've recently gotten the itch for #2 *ahem* so now REALLY wouldn't be the time to start a new job if that's going to happen. ;) You are the very person I've told this to outside of my mom and my husband! I guess I was waiting to see if I changed my mind before I started telling people. LOL

Hey! Where's Di been??? I hope she's alright!

Just a quick checkin to say I finally did The Kettkebell Way and it felt great. I'll catch up with everyone tomorrow. I have a client at 500 am tomorrow; so I have to get to bed.
