Good Morning Lovely Ladies. :)

I have a VERY sore knee today. It started hurting after y'day's run and is just KILLING me now. I took ibuprofen and am just PRAYING it kicks in before I have to leave the house. :(

Today's work out plan is upper body and abs. Thank goodness cause I can't do anything else with my knee the way it is!:eek: Not sure which work out I'll choose but I'll figure it out!;)

Let me get this posted for now. I'll BBL with personals!
 
Ok, I'm finally getting a chance to check in. I haven't read any posts since last week so please forgive my lack of personals. Also, I'm not able to do the X at this time because my brother has my dvd's and started another X rotation 2 weeks ago. I am using some of the X+ workouts in my current rotation though. Do you mind if I still check in here?

Wendy, Have you iced your knee? Do you have a foam roller? The knee pain may be due to tight muscles. Praying that your knee feels better.

My workout today is kickbox - yesterday was The Kettlebell way.

Morning all!

This morning was Legs and Back. I've heard a lot of people say they don't like the leg workout in the X, but I have to say I really enjoyed it. Last night I ran a quick 3 miles after work, too. I'm feeling pretty darn tired today. I won't be taking my lunchtime walk today though, as it's raining and will be all day. In fact, it's supposed to be this way until Sunday :mad:

BUT, that might allow me to catch up on personals today :cool:

Hi Ladies,

Yesterday I did HST, caridio & legs only. I added on abs from HSC. It was nice, albeit short workout but it was all I had time for. The kids & I had dentist appts. I have to go back for a filling. Apparently there is some decay around another filling that I got when I was about 17. I"m not looking forward to that.

I'm don't have any energy to workout this morning. I'm going to the butts & guts class if I can get away at lunch and have my last bootcamp class tonight.

I was down 1.4lbs at my weigh in yesterday. That's pretty good for me with my thyroid condition. Our group will be meeting through mid January and that is plenty of time for me to lose this extra weight, if my weightloss keeps anyway!

Laura-Happy Belated Birthday!!!! Love the haircut, so light and flirty!! I'm getting my hair cut on Monday and can't wait.

Wendy-sorry about the knee pain. Hopefully it goes away as quickly as it appeared.

Shirl-my personal trainer has my P90X dvds too. I need to review the X+ dvds and see what I come with. Absolutely you may continue checking in with us. Not all of us are X'ing, but we are all exercising!!

Jen-sorry about the rain putting a damper on things. I'm one who needs more leg work than the x provides. I just add in another leg workout or 2 when needed. Good job finishing that w/o.

Morning Ladies!

Well I had a wonderful birthday!! Boss let me go home early yesterday :eek: .. so I called for a sub for my class .. I went home and surprised DH .. who surprised me . . he went on a shopping spree for me ... 3 new bathing suits - a hoochie mama dress - and THE cutest pair of capri cargo pants w/THE cutest bohemian top!! :eek: He did GOOD!!! We rode the fields and plowed and burned off two of the larger fields to get ready for planting for hunting season!! FUN!!! Then he cooked me a filet mignon, baked potato, and sauteed shrooms .. and we feasted .. just a really good day!! :D

Wendy .. what have you done to your knee? Was it an injury - sharp pain. Or did it come on gradually??? could be fluid under the knee cap ... as many miles as you are running! Remember the RICE formula .. rest - ice - circulation - elevation!! Take it from someone who tore a tendon in her knee .. do NOT push it .. the pain is a signal of something wrong ..

Jen - do you live on the East coast? That low that is over the Carolinas is supposed to move up the East coast and then TS Kyle is moving the same direction at sea .. think the entire upper East coast is predicted to be battered this weekend .. be careful!!

Shirl - welcome back .. think we decided The X-factor group .. X would stand for exercise .. LOL .. b/c a lot of us decided not to do the X .. and some of us are doing the X .. and some of us are mixing the X w/our own stuff (me) .. :) .. so do stay w/us!!

Ok . today will be heavy legs in the gym and a run after work!! I got on the scales and I have actually lost 6 pounds .. :confused: .. guess my cold/flu took a toll on me .. I knew I had lost .. b/c my dang pants are falling off .. wish I could CHOOSE where the weight comes off from .. b/c it would NOT be my lower body .. lol!!!

anywho .. will BBL for more personals . have a great TGIF .. and great sweaty workouts!!;)

Woo Hoo - it is a good day, yes it is ! :D

I had the X Legs & Back on tap too. Didn't remember any of it from the last time I did it, but I enjoyed is since it reminded me of a freestyle type of workout. I had some burning going on there ! ! ! :eek: Not a LL workout but I'm OK with it, at least for now.

OD board reminded me it is CCPP weekend - I just loaded it a couple weeks ago so may give that a try and do Kenpo on Sun, or not, depending on how the weekend goes.

Off to hit the shower and get to work - BBL for personals too !
 
Wendy, take it easy on that knee! Just remember that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Lay off it for a few days and let it get back to 100% so that you don't have any issues when race time rolls around.

Shirl, Of course we're all happy to have you here, X'in it or not! We're kind of a motley crew anyway, with everyone doing something a little different. Seems to be working out so far...sure is making me stick to my workouts, and that's what it's all about!! The more the merrier.

Diana, congrats on the 1.4 lbs! That's awesome! Sorry to hear about hte filling, that is never fun :mad: Hope you made it to your Butts & Guts class, though. That'll keep you from thinking about dentist appointments, I'm sure ;)

Laura, lol...this hoochy mama dress you speak of intrigues me! For what occasion will DH ask you to wear that? :eek: Sounds like you had a great day yesterday. Yes, I'm in Massachusetts, and I don't think I'll be seeing the sun for a while.

Jacque, I thought the same thing you did about the freestyle aspect of Legs and Back this morning. I've been lifting heavy for my legs for so long that this was a really nice change, and I'm eager to see what sort of changes it might bring. I've actually got a healthy level of leg muscle and I'm thinking that maybe this will lean them out and definie them a bit better?

Angie, yeah...gotta admit that Cab is my favorite red of the moment ;) Not that I'd turn away any others.

Okay, I think I'm fairly caught up, just in time for the incredibly busy weekend ahead that'll likely cause me to be MIA again. Tonight is my niece's sixteenth birthday party, tomorrow I have some plans to hang out with some friends, and Sunday I'm going to a Red Sox game. I'm going to need to get back to work on Monday just to catch some rest :p

If I don't get a chance to check in before I leave work for the day, have a great weekend everyone!

Happy Friday all:D

I've been super productive today. My basement is actully looking good again. Just a bit more to go and it will be DONE!:rolleyes:

I ended up doing IMAX2 yesterday and tried to keep the plyo moves more grounded. It really took a lot more leg work to do that but I didn't want the "bounce" to affect my UB. I followed up with Great Body Abs. The darned dog kept pulling my hair while I was doing ab work. She hates it when I'm on the floor but NOT playing with her. *lol* Today will be L&B and ARX. And.....it looks like tomorrow will be PP instead of Kenpo.;)

Hey - just wondering if I could get all of your opinions on supplements. I try not to use them just b/c they are expensive and I have no idea what they are for. I'm starting to read up on them and am going to try BCAA's before and after weight workouts along with a whey protein drink (which I already do) after weights as well. Do any of you use anything else? What about creatine or glutamine?

Jacque - It looks like we both have the same game plan going on.
I don't get the same heafty DOMS in the second week as I seem to get on the first. Hopefully you'll experience the same thing. Do you take any supplements to speed recovery?

Wendy - I feel your pain. I had the same problem with my running this spring. I think I just had runners knee b/c the pain subsided after a few days of rest. After that, I put a foam insert into my shoe and I no longer had the problem. I guess I just needed the extra padding to soften the stress on my knee. Hope your knee feels better soon.

Shirl - The more the merrier! Would love to hear what you are doing on the exercise front.

Jen - I wish I could send some sunshine your way. It is beautiful in Michigan today and is supposed to last thru most of the day tomorrow. I love nice fall days.:)

Diana - Oh how I hate dentist appointments! But, I have already been there and done that with the filling this spring.
Congrats on that 1.4!!! The WW seems to be fitting the bill. Wooohoooo!!

Laura - DH bought you clothes???? Mine would never do that.....thankfully! *lol* He bought me jewelry once that I took back and he won't even buy me that now. It's all good though......he doesn't have very good taste. LOL!!
Sounds like a great day yesterday!! I had a feeling the boss might have something special in mind for you. You are so lucky to have a great boss and DH.;) So does the celebration continue on thru the weekend?

quickie post from me today as I am in the midst of a busy time at work. this morning i did 4DS legs followed by 4DS KB. loved today's workout!!

shirl- i am no longer doing the X either. I am going to start red carpet ready on monday! stay with us!

Well.. having a drama filled FRI ... one of my friends/co-workers just had an emotional meltdown :(.. bless her heart .. she is pittiful .. I sent her home b/c she could not stop crying! My heart goes out to her . . problems w/MIL and a nephew that she has been raising for 3 years .. a complicated mess .. just a terrible situation! I would be a basketcase .. never ceases to amaze me the dark side of some people when greed and jealousy come in and take over!! She is a tough cookie though ... her MIL better watch out for when the tears dry up she is gonna fight back w/a vengeance!!

Ang.. LOL about lil Maggie and the hair .. my big dog Buster tries to sit on me when I am doing floor work .. LITERALLY!! :confused: he thinks I am there to play w/him NOT exercise!! LOL We are having a gorgeous day too .. still cooler temps and LOTS of sunshine .. should be a gorgeous day tommorrow for a long run!!

Jen .. DH has wonderful taste .. but sometimes he likes to buy me froo froo ..what I call "hoochie mama" dresses .. it is a beautiful dress .. little black form fitting spaghetti straps and the bottom kinds layers in tulip like layers (short) .. really pretty ... when we go on vacations he likes to have a "dress up" night .. dinner .. dancing .. etc .. LOL .. and we have a fancy Christmas party to go to every year too .. sssooooo .. guess he likes me to look like a PYT on his arm .. LOL!!! gotta love him!! (think he still thinks I am in my 20's .. LOL)

WOO HOO on the 1.4 pounds ... you know I dont really do diets .. but was reading about this diet called the F-factor .. designed by a nutritionist .. it really is simple logical healthy eating w/concentration on fiber .. but I may purchase the book b/c it looks like something I could follow easily!!

Jacque .. I actually like the X legs and Back w/o too .. I get so much leg work in my class .. that I feel I need the HEAVY weighted lifting in the gym too though ... I have really long legs ... and they are lean but muscular .. but when I loose weight they get to looking too thin to me .. I dont like skinny legs .. lol!!

DeeDee - I cant wait to hear about the RCR w/o .. I heard some talk of it on the OF but interested on how it goes!! do report!! I am excited for you to be our RCR test bunny!!! :D

Ok . . come on 5:00 .. I am sooo ready to go .. cant wait to get home and get my run in .. then kick back w/a movie and some CABS!!! ;) Tommorrow my team plays TN .. GO AUBURN!!! WAAAARRRRR EAGLE!!! we GOTTA win!! our rival (AL) plays GA (#3 in SEC) ... and boy they are talking smack .. I will be REALLY pulling for GA bulldogs .. GO DOGS!!!! :D We play at 2:30 .. so I will try to get online after the game .. gotta get my run and yoga in early tommorrow so I will be front and center for kickoff!! GO AUBURN!! WOOOOO HOOOO!!!:eek:

Wendy - UGH ! about your knee ! :( I have had a little "twinge" but not real pain so am watching it. Is it one of those that ice will help? Glad you have UB and Abs today - hope it works out for your long run this week - though I'd suggest not doing a long one . . . :confused:

Shirl - yes please continue to check in - you are Xercising ya know ! We decided that would work ! :p It's all about the accountability, motivation and most importantly the support for each other ! Looks like you are on a "K" type of "X"ercise plan, KenpoX next? LOL ! Sounds like good workouts to do back to back.

Jen - I was going to start a freestyle type of rotation so I'm liking it. Between the heavy lifting and now doing a little more running and lighter weights I am definitely seeing more "cut" legs than I have had in the past. Haven't really lost any weight so it is all good - still eating (and drinking) the same ! :p Sounds like a totally fun weekend for you - ENJOY ! ! !

Diana - Way to Go on the 1.4 ! ! ! I just love it when a plan works well. Way back just after high school I did the "old fashioned" WW plan and honestly, it taught me much better eating habits that I have carried forward for over 30 years. Good deal ! Hope you had enough "energy" food before lunch so you could get in a sweaty session of B & G and then have some leftover for BC tonight. Do let us know how you totally exhausted yourself today, OK? :eek:

Laura - what a wonderful birthday in so many ways ! How nice ! Lucky you having a DH with good taste in both clothing and good food. That dinner is exactly what we have when we want a nice dinner but I don't want to pay the price. Love love love Costco and their deals on meat. They have bags of the end cuts of Filets for about $4 per lb. less than standard. That is our weekend meal many times. Cool on the weight drop as long as you can only put back on some muscle now, huh? Work that booty and maybe you can hold your pants up a bit better ! LOL ! Sorry about the upheaval at work - TGIF though ! Have a great run and fun at your FB game tomorrow.

Angie - Nice job on the Clean Max - got a little done myself but just not too motivated yet with all the nice summer weather we still have. I like to be outside ! Great workout by using the leggies more - are they sore? I hope my UB mellows a bit next week like yours does. Keeping my fingers crossed ! Sure hope I get the CCPP in tomorrow too - just need to make sure not to lounge around too long . . .:rolleyes: I take multiple supplements, many of those listed in the Fat Flush plan. Not sure how much difference it really makes because I have been doing it for a couple of years, but I rarely get sick and typically feel really good with loads of energy unless I lose a lot of sleep - but that's part of turning 50 and the d#mn hormones !
I also drink a protein shake every morning after working out. Don't like eating lots so have cranberry juice with flaxseed first, workout, then the protein while I am getting ready for work. I use EAS and it has BCAA's - it's time released and I get it at Costco. Good price in comparison to others and I'm not really picky about taste. It isn't bad - I mix with water and drink.

Dee Dee - Hope work slows down a bit for you. Just able to take a short breath here too. Sure drains you in your personal life, huh? Nice workout today. 4DS is a great set.

Got a hockey game tonight - GO HOCKEY ! :D - We play the Ducks tonight after getting crushed the other night - but in checking out the roster I can see why . . . all the newbies were playing - Nabby was out also. See you play the Kings tomorrow - they are another tough team for us.

Probably won't be back tonight - off in a couple hours and heading out for the game once I get home. Enjoy the evening ladies!

No work out today. Decided to make today my rest day instead of tomorrow. I'll have more time to kill tomorrow anyway.

So don't I owe you ladies some personals? Yes I do and I will not be a slacker any longer so here they are!!! :p

Jacque: Enjoy hockey tonight! I hear ya on perhaps not doing my long run this weekend. I'll play it by ear. My knee is definately better then it was last night and this morning and my long run wasn't planned until Sunday anyway. Actually, DH just informed me that he MIGHT have to work on Sunday. If that's the case then the run isn't gonna happen anyway unless I can get my mom to watch my son for several hours while I run. I don't mind the TM but I am NOT running on it for THREE HOURS!:eek: Not to mention, I will not leave my son in the gym daycare that long unless it's because I am working and he is there with me.

Laura: Sorry about the gal at work. Sounds awful. Hope her situation improves. Enjoy your weekend!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Sunny: 4DS KB is an awesome work out. I'm not a fan of 4DS step but KB and BC are great. Love the weight work as well. Hope you had a good day at work today.

Ang: Glad you got the basement in good shape. Hate doin' the work but seeing a room transformed is always a good feeling, ey? :)

Shirley: No, haven't iced my knee. Only took ibuprofen. The pain is not a sharp pain in a small area. It's a dull pain in a large area so it would be hard to ice. LOL It's gotten better today so I'm hoping just a little more time and it'll be okay. I am still going to go in search of new running sneakers though.

Gotta go make some dinner now! Sorry if I missed someone!
