Hi Girls.

So I have some nice DOMS from y'day's work out. I figured as much. Heck, I did 120 biceps curls and 88 hammer curls. I DESERVE to some DOMS after that, no? LOL

Today's work out is either an easy 3 mile run outdoors or the EXT. After that I'll take the Centergy class at the gym at 10:30.

I can't believe the race is almost here! Only a few more days folks! *gulp* 18 miles!?!? What was I thinking!? :eek: LOLOL

Salsa class was a no go as I thought it would be. Oh well. The guy was sick. What can I do? No use cryin' over it.

Ang: FYI, Cathy is flying out Friday to Chicago. Her full mary is on Sunday too! I'm so excited (an nervous) for her. I know she'll do well though. :)

Laura: Yeah, Jari is a little nasty to look at. She wasn't too bad in earlier vids but it seems she's getting skinnier and skinnier. She certainly is NOT the picture of fitness and good health if you ask me. It's a good thing I don't judge her vids by what she looks like!:eek: Let's face it though, she DOESN'T work out to her own fitness videos. In addition, you KNOW it has to do alot with her diet as well which most people would likely starve to death trying to survive on. LOL The scariest part? The camera supposedly puts 10 pounds on a person!!!!!:eek::eek::eek:

Jacque: LOL, I don't go to my MIL's or mom's house EVERY night for dinner. I go to each house once a week. I've been going to see MIL once a week for years since DH moved out of his house to make sure we see his family. As for my mom, I really started making sure I visited her weekly once my son was born. I saw her before ofcourse but once Joey was born I made a point of it so that she could see him. Additionally, my house is very small. It's hard for me to entertain so that makes it very hard for me to have THEM at MY house. I do on occassion but I would never want to do a weekly dinner here. I actually can't wait to move so that I can stop being the one who runs to other's houses all of the time.

Shirl: Squeeze intrigues me but it seems quite pricey for what it is so I never purchased it.

Good morning ladies!!

yesterday wound up being an unscheduled rest day as i had to do some traveling for work and afterwards dh did a cooking show (he's got a culinary degree) for a place called best health and we went watched and cheered him on!

ok, i have a confession to make. don't think i will be sticking with RCR. i feel like a total wimp using the "pinkdumbbells". although it kicks my butt in an endurance way i miss my DOMS too much. so i "allowed" dh (hehehe) to talk me into doing a rotation with him again. we did arms on monday (so i actually did 2 workouts monday) and my arms are still dom'sing. i love it! yesterday was supposed to been legs but we both missed our workout so i am doubling up today. i did 3 miles on the TM and later this afternoon i will do legs followed by 30 mins of interval jumproping!

wendy- no worries about that 18 miler girl, you know you are going to kick some butt and take some names...!!

angie- i am LMAO at your wanting to jump thru the tv and slap somebody, lol.

no time for more personals as i've got to get going and get everyone to their destination this morning.

Wendy, I am so happy to hear your knee is feeling better. :) You are going to do awesome with your race!!! You CAN do it!!!!:cool: Squeeze is pricey but worth it for me. I didn't have anything like it in my collection and I like the lower body work. Not too crazy about the upper body exercises.

Jen, Glad the yoga helped with the stress - ahhh. Your rotation idea sounds good. Total body workouts are efficient and effective, IMO.

Jacque, Tight hammies and torqued knee - ouch. Do you have a foam roller? Foam rolling will do wonders for that.

Angie, I love Core Synergistics and so does my 12y/o DS. How big are your pumpkins?!? If you're interested in my Squeeze lower body mish mosh, I'll post it.

Laura, How was your class and how's your knee? I used to have Jari's workouts but sold them. My DD asked if Jari was sick b/c she was so skinny. :eek:

Good morning everyone!

Thought I'd check in quickly to report my workout before runnng back out the door (I just got in, for God's sake) to meetings all day. I chose LIC this morning and I'm so glad I did. That workout felt great. I wanted to get some cardio in, but I also wanted some resistance work, and viola! ... That one fit the bill.

Shirl, I've never been a yoga fan, but lately I feel like I need it. I'm going to try harder to incorporate it. Have fun with Amy Bento.

Dee Dee, that sounds like a fun day yesterday! I love cooking, I love cooking shows, and I'm envious of your DH's culinary degree! You're so lucky! I hear you on the pink dumbells and I don't blame you one bit.

Wendy, I can't wait to hear how your race goes. I know you're going to ROCK it!! Glad to hear your knee is feeling better and that you're taking it easy on it. Now you have me wanting to check out Jari's new ones!

Morning Ladies ..

last night's class was great .. have DOMS in my lats, back, core, shoulders and hamstrings!! :D That class was supposed to have lots of plyo work too .. but since my knee was acting up .. I only did a couple of plyo moves .. therefore more floor .. therefore MORE doms!!!

Wendy ... glad the knee is better .. dont push hard on the 3 miler today ... I am so excited for you .. I will be cheering you on in spirit!! Tell Cathy good luck ... I will be thinking of both of you .. I know you both will rock it .. and leave them in the dust!! :)

DeeDee - your husband has a culinary degree???? :eek: OH MY .. talk about heaven!! and a cooking show ... how exciting .. what did he whip up yesterday??? My DH "thinks" he is a chef .. and I have to say he is a better cook than me .. but far from a chef .. he is pretty good w/meat and veggies though!! :)

Jacque - man Wendy jinxed us huh?? We are falling apart .. LOL ... hope your knee is better .. mine is a bit .. but gonna baby it this week for sure ... my job? Well I work for a large electric company - I am the business office manager's secretary - but mainly I work in collections :confused: .. ya .. fun!!! I do small claims, bankruptcies, repossessions, cut-offs, adjustments and customer service ... so I am pretty much stressed sometimes!!:confused:

Jen... meetings all day??? YUCK ... just got out of one ... maybe that will be all 4 today at least!!

Shirl .. all the talk of the sqeeze w/o makes me curious .. may have to check that out too!!

Ang .. hope all is well w/you today ...:) .. what's on tap for today's w/o??

Today is my official rest day .. it is raining .. so I may not even be able to get my doggie run in today .. but w/the knee acting up it might as well be the best thing!! OK .. it has taken me an hour to get this typed .. :confused: .. better get back to work .. ugh!!!

Hey Chics!

I had a great work out this morning! 20 minutes of intense intervals on the EXT followed by 10 mins of steady state and then Centergy class. I passed on the run as I didn't want to take the chance of aggravating the knee so close to the race. I did get a twinge once in class but it subsided quickly, thank goodness. :)

Sunny: So ya gave up on RCR? I'm not surprised. You are a heavy lifter at heart. ;) Check your PM's BTW!

Laura: As you can see I passed on the 3 miler. I'm very proud of myself for showing self-restraint! LOL Sounds like you had another kick-ass class last night. If I am ever in your area I want to take a class with you! ;) Hey girl, don't be shy. The Cheetahs don't bite. Go on over to the thread and wish Cathy good luck if you get a chance! :)

Jen: Sorry about the all day meetings. Meetings are the worst. I've never been subjected to a full day of them. I can only imagine....UGH! :rolleyes: So do you own any of Jari's stuff?

Shirl: Enjoy your Amy work out today. Perhaps one day if I can find Squeeze for a deal I'll pick it up. Right now I have way more work outs then I know what to do with anyway!:D

Okay, that catches me up. Now I have to decide if I want to take a nap or do housework! :eek: What a decision to hafta make, right? :p

Hey ladies !

Pop in at break time to say that I did my Shoulders & Arms this AM. I really like that workout !

Knee is fine today - just one of those weird little quickie pop type pains that you don't want to push. I always wait to see how it feels the next day and it is good to go. Will be ready for YogaX tomorrow !:D

BBL at lunch - off to set up for flu shots ! :eek:
 
Jacque: Oooh fun flu shot time! LOL Are you getting one?? I've never gotten one! I don't get sick often *knock on wood* so I never bothered. Before I quit smoking I used to get very sick for about a week at the same time every winter. I'd go to the dr each time for meds and was NEVER told that I had the flu so why get a flu shot if you never get the flu anyway right? I guess if I ever actually DO get the flu I'll be runnin' to get the shot the following year!:p
 
afternoon Ladies ..

OH MY what a freaking day!!!!

DH surprised me and made reservation in Biloxi .. tommorrow and FRI .. so I will be "playing" the rest of the week .. boss let me off .. WOO HOO ...

and my football team .. OMG .. they just announced they FIRED our offensive co-ordinator!! :eek::eek::confused::) ... he was new and our offense is HORRIBLE .. everyone wanted his head .. and looks like they got it .. he IS OUTTA HERE!!! errrrr .. so now what happens .. LOL .. OH PLEASE let our head coach pull something out his hiney and get our guys together - we CAN NOT loose another game!!! Come on Auburn Tigers!!! WAAAAARRRRR EAGLE!!! Get your act together!!

OK .. gonna be biting the fingernails now .. we play Arkansas this weekend .. we lost to them last year when we WERE GOOD .. :confused: ... yikes!

OK ..so girlies .. I am being bad w/DH .. gonna be getting NO exercise except for pulling the slot handle and punching buttons .. will be eating in excess ... (will find those 6# I lost I bet) ... so you girlies are gonna have to take my slack ... I will be back SAT to check in w/you gals .. and since the knee will be getting EXTRA rest .. I should be ready to attack Sean .. eeerrrrr .. I mean CC8 or CC7 ... :D when I get back!!

You know, of course, I am thoroughly jealous. I don't have parents left, my bro and family are in Idaho, two kids out of the city and even though I adore all my in-laws, we don't get together with them often AND THEY LIVE IN TOWN ! Being with family is my ultimate favorite thing to do - so glad you take the time not to miss out on what could be taken away at the drop of a hat.

I keep thinking your run is 10/18 but it is 18 miles on 12. Yep, just around the corner - are you getting nervous or do you get fired up?

And there you go with that "Tater" word again just as I am ready to eat everything I can possibly find in my house !:eek: LOL!

I've been getting the flu shots for years - and even when I do and DH or the kids would be really sick, I would have a day of being very nauseated but never got sick. I'm not sure if it was the shots, but to try to keep me in bed for more than a day is pure h3!! so might as well go for it. I did do shoulders this AM and my arm was sore within a couple of hours after the shot - iced it and it is a little better. As long as I'm not down for the count for a week like those getting the flu these past few years, I can handle the soreness. Kinda reminds me of DOMS - yep, a "sick" thought (pun intended! :p)


Dee Dee - LOL at giving up RCR. Thinking this checkin could be: Those that don't keep to a rotation ? ? ? Or to be less crass: Day to Day checkin. We could shorten to Dee Dee check in or D.D. checkin ! OK - done with the goofiness !:rolleyes: I tell you I am hoping that the second set of P90X DVD's is better for me. Even though I love the workouts, I like variety and I am just not feeling it. I shall stick with at least the first four weeks though. From there I may join the others and throw in some "X" here and there. How fun to be doing workouts with DH. Mine is a couch potato - other than playing roller hockey once a week. He does occasionally do physical work on the job if his crew needs the help (He's an underground construction manager and mostly drives around, checks plans and meets with the inspectors.)

Oh yes - forgot to JUMP FOR JOY that it is HUMP DAY ! ! !:p

Shirl - Hope you had fun with Amy - haven't done much other than Cathe, the Firm and P90X. Trying to wait it out for STS. Guess I am glad there are 41 DVD's - may just keep me interested?:eek: I don't have a foam roller yet, but have been eyeing them each time I hit Target (thankfully it is not that often!).

Jen - Busy seems to be "the word" these days. Good that everyone is popping in here and there AND still getting in their workouts ! Yea ! LIC is a great one - think all this variety really makes me miss Cathe. :( Hope your days get less busy soon.

Laura - Cool on the workout from last night, especially the DOMS ! Good you rested your knee - mine was just one of those weird things that is gone the next day (thankfully). Now the sore back, that is another story !:mad: Aha, I see how you could be so busy - and Collections at a time like our economy is in, a big YUCK to that. In fact, that and Sales would be the only two positions I would never take in our company. Anything else, bring it on. Kudos to you for putting up with all that. Hope your rest day was nice and that the rain didn't make too much "wet doggie smell" around the house.

So how COOL of DH - stop thinking you will add weight - just run around the casino while the slots are waiting to settle !:eek: Don't fret over the FB team changes just yet - wait to see how it pans out. I mean, with you cheering them on, what could go wrong?

Ummmm, yup....BUSY is the word!:confused: Cam has a science test tomorrow so we were cramming like crazy tonight. I know that's not the way to do it, but I thought his test was Friday, until he informed me differently at 8:30 that it is tomorrow.:eek::mad: So, instead of just previewing tonight and hitting it hard tomorrow, it was all of it tonight. But, on the bright side, I think he had a pretty good grasp on most of it already. I guess we'll see.....

I got kenpoX done today. It is nice not to have to tack on ARX to the workouts.:) Tomorrow is StretchX. I'm not sure if I've ever done that before. I probably won't do it tomorrow either.:p Maybe I'll get yogaX out of the way tomorrow and leave Saturday open for something more fun.:cool:

Wendy - I know you'll do great on the race. You ARE ready!! I'm sending good knee vibes your way /\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Thanks for the heads up on Cathy's race. I knew it was this weekend, but I didn't know exactly when she was heading out. I'll have to peek in the Cheetah thread....I'll bet she's super excited.

DeeDee - I don't like getting away from heavy weights for long either. I just don't feel like I'm doing it right if I don't do heavy weights at least twice per week.
I'd love to get DH to workout with me. You are lucky!

Shirl - Oh yes, please post the LB Squeeze mish mosh. Did she ever make another vid?? I thought there was some talk about that.
The pumpkins were BIG. The second one was a bit smaller though after I found out how much work it was to get it to the car from the field. LOL!

Jen - I haven't done LIC in ages. Hmmmmm....maybe Saturday???:D
