I was last to post personals last night so this'll be short n sweet. Today's work out plan is a run and possibly the rest of (and the last of before starting the X!) the CTX upper body weights.

today's workout was one from alwyn's orginal book NROL. Fat loss III day one workout (talk about getting beat up) followed by a 20 min icycle. the alwyn workout i did today is so tough yet i just love it sooooooooooo much. i know, i'm a sickie..hehehe

wendy- i completely understand why you stop doing the BB coaching thing. simply too much, wow!

okay, off to the kids ready and get to work today.

Good morning ladies!!

Ahhhh, the boss is out of the office for most of the day today, so that grants me some typing freedom ;) I always intend on getting back here after my initial morning post, but that doesn't always happen. Darn work always gets in the way!

I didn't workout this morning. I was just too darn sleep deprived, so I decided to sleep in a bit (6:00, woo hoo. Better than 4:30 though!) Everyone around me seems to be sick this week: both kids, mom, ex husband....I figured I better make sure I get in the sleep before I'm next.

I never got a chance to introduce myself to everyone yesterday. I'm a 37 year old mom of two, DS is 13, DD is 10, and we live in Massachusetts. Currently not married ;). I do have a man I'm very serious about though, (and he's pretty serious about me, too :D) I work as a paralegal for the Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Trustee for the Western District of Massachusetts. And I think that's that...

Oh, I'm a cat person, too :p

Diana, did you get Lowmax in yesterday? I like that one.

Angie, I'm with you on the YogaX. So NOT crazy about yoga, period. But then after it's done I feel great and wonder why I don't do it more often!!

Laura, hope you're finally feeling better and able to get in the workout you want to do today. Being sick is awful! You have some warm weather in 'Bama right now, huh? Fall has hit here with a vengeance today! It's was about 50 degrees when I got up this morning and isn't supposed to go above 60 today. I love this weather! And yeah, I'm a recent kettlebell convert (thanks to Wendy). Resistance was futile! Believe me, I tried.

Dee Dee, I bought NROL months ago planning to do one of its rotations, but it has stayed on the shelf. You're making me curious again! I think I'll wait to look at it though, at least until the X rotation is over. I'm planning on starting the X on Sunday or Monday. How about you?

Wendy, enjoy your run today! This is definitely the perfect weather to do it in! How far do you plan on today? I think I'll take your advice to scrap Kenpo X and sub something else in. It's likely I'll be using my treadmill for a lot of the cardio. I'm not so sure about Cardio X, either. But I haven't looked at any of these workouts in a long time, so maybe my opinion will be different when I go back.

Morning Ladies ..

ooohhhhhh .. I am ssoooooooo happy a group of women w/exercise ADD .. that completely describes me .. the ONLY rotation I have ever done (although not followed to the T) was the X .... teaching class and limited times I find myself changing constantly .. not to mention I get bored REAL quick .. that is the reason I liked the X .. it is totally different than your average w/o .... maybe our name should be "X-factor/exercise ADD" group .. although as testy as some of the ladies on the board have been we would probably offend someone w/using the terminology "ADD" ... :confused: .. remember when one of Cathe's people said her workout was like a workout on crack (or something like that) .. and the board got so bent out of shape about it! Ridiculous! ITA that the OF is just full of hostility and people think it is their way or the highway .. "cant we all just get along" .. ;) LOL!!!

I am feeling LOTS better today .. and think I am going to hit the gym at lunch for a heavy leg workout ... then a run w/my doggies this afternoon!!:D my body is screaming for me to MOVE IT!!!

Jen .. paralegal in Chpt 13 Bankruptcy .. YOWZA .. I worked on one here yesterday .. kudos for you to handle all the wording in those documents (we not only serve our customers electricity but also merchandise) .. and I get the pleasure of working all the Bankruptcies!! :confused: .. Oh ..our temps .. these temps are NICE for us... the summer months usually linger around the high upper 90's .. so when we feel the 80's get here .. it feels like fall .. LOL!!! Gotta love the South!! :D

Dee Dee - I see you love the fitness torture too .. yup we have found the right group of girls here for sure .. LOL!!! One of my students named one of my classes "the class from H###" .. LOL ... any evil exercise torture you wanna share .. by all means do!! :p

Ang ... hey ... IA w/the hostility on the boards .. gotta wonder where it all comes from .. as you know I stopped posting there a while ago .. I do every now and again .. ONLY to subjects that dont involve any kind of emotional PC BS in them ..LOL! When are you gonna post those Maggie pics???

Di . . when was the last BC class ?? what evil torture did your instructor come up w/now?? LOL

OK .. better run .. TGIF!!! WOO HOO .. finally Friday!! We are having a get together SAt. .. to watch Auburn play LSU (did I mention I am a huge football WAR EAGLE fan) ... have a sneaking suspicion DH is planning on a surprise birthday celebration for me .. VBF and Aunt are acting very strangely!!!! Whatever we will have a blast .. at least this time it wont turn into a HURRICANE party .. LOL!!!

OH I forgot to mention to my new friends .. I am married to a wonderful man for 22 years ... no kids .. although I have a VERY spoiled nephew and VERY spoiled dogs that get anything they want!!!

Couldn't get to my computer the past couple of days and now I see I have quite a bit of "homework" for either tonight or this weekend with all the changes ! :p

Meeting Wed and at other locations yesterday and today is not leaving me much time for catch up.

Did Legs and Glutes Wed, Lo Max yesterday and today have a headache so will attempt PUB after work.

BB when I can catch up and take time to introduce myself to the members of Cabs & Abs. By the way . . . great idea Wendy ! and like the name Dee Dee! :D

Wendy - Jen - heard from Lori at all? Was hoping to "rope" her into "X" again too !;)

Hi Everyone! I'm sorry but I don't have time for personals today.

A little bit about me - 40 y/o mom to 3 children 12 y/o ds, 10 y/o ds & 8 y/o dd. I'm a personal trainer and I homeschool my 3 children. I too have exercise ADD and am looking forward to checking in with all of you. I've done 1 P90X rotation, however, I subbed the cardio for something of my choice. I did a 6 week rotation of P90X+. I LOVE kettlebell training and plan on getting certified. I just need to save some money... $2000. :eek:

I plan on starting my modified X & X+ rotation next week. I'll post my rotation some time this weekend.

jen- i've had the book for a long time now and just got around to doing some of the workouts in them. i will definitely resume after da' X:p i am starting on 9/29.

poochy- oh yes, i am sure we will have lots to talk about. i like the name of your class and wish i could attend:p people ususally complain they leave my classes and sessions hobbling. i know what you mean about the o/d section which is why i stay away from the most part. seems like it's not allowed to have your own opinion:eek:.

shirl- i would love to get kettlebell certified however right now the ends don't justify the means. i am not a zumba person but just found out there zumba instructors getting $50- $100 to teach. hmmmm, might have to start liking zumba, lol.

jacque- sure hope that headache clears. can't stand when my head hurts.

my X-rotation will also be modified!

i am meeting up with a couple of ladies after work and going for a 3 mile powerwwalk.

Good Afternoon Girls.

Well everyone is giving a short synopsis of themselves and eventhough I'm the "common denominator" from both threads I think I'll do it too as I'm having fun reading them. :)

I'm a 36 yr old mother of 1. My DS is almost 3.5 yrs old. I am pretty much a SAHM although I do work about 12 hours a week in my gym's babysitting room. I certified in personal training with the AFPA last summer but never got a job as I am not sure it's something I want to do after all....maybe one day but not now atleast. I have been teetering on the brink of *really* wanting to have another baby after a long time of insisting DS would be an only. LOL My long term fitness goal is to run a full marathon. I hope to meet that goal at the end of March 2009 with the Ocean Drive Marathon that takes place in Cape May, NJ. Obviously if previously stated baby is to become a reality, the plan is to wait until AFTER the marathon!;)

So I got an offer to work tmrw night with a friend of mine. He picked up a bartending job in a catering hall on an as-needed basis and he is working a wedding tmrw night. The other bartender that was supposed to work with him can not do it so the owner of the hall asked him to bring someone in for the night. I am no bartender but was told if I can open a beer and a bottle of wine I can do the job so I agreed. It's good money for a one night gig and will allow my friend and I to catch up. We don't hang or talk as much as we used to so it should be fun. The catch? Ofcourse I started getting a cold in the middle of the night last night so I've felt like dog doo much of the day. I cancelled my work out plans and am taking airborne. I am not going to survive a long/late night doing something brand new to me (I'll be very nervous!) if I feel crappy. :( I hope I feel better. I really want to do this!

Along with feeling like poop, I am eating all kinds of garbage. As soon as I came home from work I started shoveling the junk and haven't stopped!:eek: I knew it was coming though. When I get sick I crave "comfort food" and that translates into any junk food I can find! LOL

BBL so long as I don't feel worse!

I just got home and thought I'd post before the boys get home. Gma is going to come pick them up to spend the night.:D Oh joy, alone time!! That'll give me plenty of time to do L&B and ARX.

Dee Dee - I also have NROLFW sitting on the shelf. I've had it for a few months now but haven't read thru it yet. I also have BFL sitting there too and have just not opened it. I need to look thru both of them.

Jen - I feel great after yogaX, not b'c of the way my body feels, but just b'c it's over!:confused: *lol* I do have DOMS the next day in my rear and shoulders from it, at least when I first start doing it again. I probably won't do it again for a few weeks and instead sub a CC workout or something.
I think the extra sleep was a wise choice considering there's a bug going around. Laura and I have both just gone thru the yucks.....best to steer clear!

Larua - Wooohooo! Feeling better for the weekend.:)

My mom was telling me that the place where I boarded Mags just had an incident with another dog. She said a woman that goes to Curves with her boarded her dog there and she went to pick him up and she found him dead along side the road.:( Can you imagine that??? I would freak out! Apparently the gate was not latched shut completely and he got out and got hit on the road just before they got there. I still can't comprehend how that happened - you'd think that the kennel would be fenced all the way around with only openings into the building.

Jacque - PUB gets my arms a shakin' every single time! I always have to do the ab section first too, b/c my arms just can't support myself after the weight work. *lol* Hope the HA is better.

Shirl - ?2K? Yikes! That's some serious cha ching! Sounds like it would be an awesome class though.
mmmmmmm - did someone say apples?? Do you can them?

Wendy - Hope your last CTX w/o is a goodie. So the X starts on Monday for you?
Hope you get some georgous weather for the weekend. Can't complain here....sunny, breezy and in the 70's.:D

:eek::eek::eek::confused::confused::confused: OH MY GOODNESS ARE YOU SERIOUS??? surely that comes w/the entire assortment of kettbells too for that price?? MY GOODNESS ... why in the world would certification be that much???

OK .. ((shaking head )) I think I fainted just doing the numbers for the certification plus the equiptment ... (( slapping myself into consciousness )) .. YOWZA!!! Well that is one certification I won't be obtaining .. LOL!!! :eek: I will have to try it thru the DVD experience .. LOL!!! :)

Ang .. What an AWFUL experience .. OMG... I can not imagine going to pick up your animal and seeing it run over ... that is HORRIBLE. If I did ever board mine ... the one I would use is inside kennells .. I am lucky though .. my babies stay inside a fenced in yard . . and my aunt or mother usually checks on them and feeds up. Even then I still worry b/c they are so big and worry they might "escape and overpower" them .. but my aunt handles them just fine!!

Wendy ... cool bartending .. booo you dont feel good!! I bartend for our company functions sometimes .. pretty fun .. if people order from you more than once they sometimes expect you to remember what they ordered .. and my memory is uummmmm .. let's just say short term memory is kinda like my exercise ADD .. lol!!

I hope Ang and I didn't pass the bug around to our new friends!! :eek: .. hope all of you manage to fight it off and walk away a-ok!!
 
Hi ladies,

I guess an introduction would be good. I'm a 40 something mom to 3 boys (20, 18, 12) and grandma to twin baby girls! DH and I just celebrated our 20 yr anniversay. I work full time for a global manufacturing company in the IT department. I was moved from development, to customer support (which is not my cup of tea). Other than Cathe, I work out at my local rec ctrs, one near my house and one near my work. I take an outdoor bootcamp class at a local football field 2 nights per week during the summer.

No workout for me today. I was super tired and slept in instead of working out. DH had the day off so I watched the news and visited with him. Probably talked more in the hour this morning than all week. I was too busy at lunch that I couldn't get away from my desk.

My Bootcamp instructor just borrowed p90x from me. I do have the X+ workouts so I'll have to use those instead. I'm sure they will be just as tough. I keep hoping that STS will be released soon.
It's so nice meeting more catheites!

Wendy-Nice job finishing up CTX. I hope you feel better and have fun bartending. I've never done that before, but can open a bottle and a can if that counts!

Angie-OMG, I hope the kennel has serious consequences for what's happened. I know how you loathe yoga X but at least you've done it now. You're not alone;)

Laura-My last bootcamp class is next Thursday. We've had to start class 15 min earlier and only go for 45 minutes because it is getting dark.

Dee Dee-I have the NROL book to but have only done a couple of workouts from it. Your the certified instructor right??? What kind of classes do you teach?

Jen-wow, you get up at 4:30. You'll notice that Angie and I are not morning people. I actually work from 9-6 which gives me time in the morning for my workout. It works out great for me. I would not be a very nice person at 4:30. Glad you got to sleep in a bit today.

Jacque-Hope your headache subsided and you able to get in PUB. I love that workout. The biceps are trembling after that one. I also do the abs first in that w/o.

Shirl-I'm looking forward to seeing your modified X, X+ rotation. You must have great patience if you can homeschool your kids. I think that is awesome. Your a personal trainer too! Wow!!

I hope I didn't forget anyone. Sorry in advance if I did.
