Working on a comeback

Hello, supportive gang! I've written before about how, after I started school full-time last year, I basically quit working out, cold turkey. My physical and mental health definitely suffered for it! Sometimes I've let myself feel discouraged about becoming so deconditioned and gaining some weight (which I really couldn't afford to do). But I'm back at a place where I'm determined to fit exercise into my schedule this school year, even if I have to let some other things (say, the kitchen floor!) slide. So, I just finished Total Body Sculpting, and I have to say I'm so grateful for it right now! I challenged myself with the heaviest weights I could use, and I had a very good sweat-fest! It feels good just to hear Cathe's voice! And I look forward to working my way back to the Pyramids, the Gym Styles (I'm embarrassed to admit I own them and haven't opened them!), and all those other great workouts on my shelf.

Thanks for listening!
Allison

Allison-

You can do it!!! It's great to know you still have the drive to work out. Go slow on your comeback so you don't have a setback, but crack those Gym Styles open just to see what you're working towards!

Allison, I am in the exact same spot as you. For me, it wasn't so much school (but that had to do with it) as much as it was depression. I am making my "comeback plan" too and want Cathe's new set. I am shopping on Collage too and joining aerobics at the campus.

Welcome Back! You are not alone!! :p

Thank you all! Your positive thoughts really do make a difference --and I *will* preview those Gym Styles to get an idea of where I'm heading!

Janice -- I've been thinking about you! I'm glad that we're both ready to take positive steps for our health. I know Kali is right -- a little each day, and we'll get there! AND I hope school is going well for you! It's also a "one day at a time" deal! (I got to see my first birth in OB clinical this week, and that was definitely my best school day ever!!)

Thanks again, everyone, for your support!
Allison

Allison, welcome back and dont be hard on yourself .Wow Did you get to help deliver baby ? I know your probably against this and I could not do it but a friend of mine gave birth twice at home and I got to help it was amazing !!! coolest thing ever .So up lifting !!! You will love the Gym Style workouts .Come here everyday too for support !!

Allison, you've made a wonderful decision for yourself to take control once again and get fit. I have been in that spot before and it seems like a long road back, but stick with it, it is faster than it seems. We're here whenever you need to talk.

Thanks, Mary and Jane!

Yes, being at the birth was really awesome! I got to hold the mom's leg and give her encouragement while she pushed. Mary -- how great that you got to be with your friend for two births! While I was participating in this one, I was thinking that the only thing that would make it better would be if the parents were people I really knew. But it felt like such a privilege to be there for that special moment in their lives.

Take care,
Allison
