Why no DOMS?

I never get sore. I'm lifting heavier than I ever have, but still haven't. I just started doing some of the barre workouts and they absolutely slay me while I'm doing them, so I'll think "Boy I'm going to be sore tomorrow"... next day- nothing.

Maybe I'm wrong but a part of me feels like I would like to feel where I worked out the day before. Like proof or something.

Anybody else missing the DOMS?
 
I get ancy when there is no soreness. I've been trying to improve my biceps lately and that is the only place there is no soreness!!! It's killing me! I keep wondering if I worked them hard enough (sure seemed like it) or what?
 
I just wonder if there is a reason. Is it a body type or something?

I am definitely seeing workout results- I JUST WANT MY PAIN!!!

This is my exact situation. I did 2 hours of sts yesterday, (upper body) lifted to failure. No doms today. I did 1 1/2 hours of barre and mat w/o on Sunday (lower body)with no doms, but I was dying while doing it. Glad to know I'm not the only one. Linda:)

I'm the same way with certain body parts. For instance I can't seem to get DOMS in my quads or my back. My quads can be absolutely frying and like you I think wow, I'm going to be sore tomorrow and nothing. I HATE not having DOMS! I used to get DOMS in my quads, but I've hardly ever had it in my back except from MMA fusion. The first time I did that workout I had DOMS in my entire back, but now as I do the workout and my body is getting used to it, that's fading away. With the quads though I've been changing my workout every week or two and still nothing. It just doesn't feel like a good workout without DOMS!
 
I rarely get doms unless I do something really unusual. Your body just processes the lactic acid more efficiently. That's a good thing!! It shows you're well hydrated, you probably stretch effectively and get good sleep. You're functioning well. Congrats!!
 
Maybe that's it NY25. Because I am the s-t-r-e-t-c-h QUEEN!!! Seriously... I stretch for about an hour after every workout.

If it's a good thing then I guess I'm happy!
 
i have read that DOMS occur more with the eccentric (negative) contraction of the muscle, if that helps at all. I had mild doms with meso 1. I just got the push/ pull tower for the last week of the Meso, and boy! I definitely have DOMS in my back now!
 
pain after sts

It's weird, I was doing well with STS, and finished about 1 1/2 wks ago. Well, last week I started to do hi impact cardio and was too sore (like after a flu) so I did low impact w/ yoga - It's the 2nd week in (planning on starting sts all over again next week) and this week I feel like I am one big ache. I tried 4ds cardio and weights, on Monday, did ok - and Tues couldn't do weights at all, and it was hard to do cardio...I don't know what to do, can only really do yoga and some cardio. don't have flu symptoms or anything - could it be delayed soreness??? Like those cardio moves you don't feel until you stop??? I hope I'm ok by next wk. I woke up today all swollen - joints, inner side of elbows, ankles and knees. Didn't eat too much salt or anything like that...diet's been cleaner. So I don't know what's going on - I just hope to get back to normal soon. - Autumn

Autumn I think you have a bug or something. Thats a bit. . .odd. Maybe some of the more experienced Cathletes can chime in here.

back to op You can have my doms. I'm one big piece of dom right now. Ouchie. I can't even lift my fiddle to my chin.:p
