Why don't you like Rhythmic Step?

I've been trying to decide if I want to buy Rhythmic Step so I did a search and it sort of looks like it's a split between those that like this workout and those that don't. I read that the choreography is very difficult and that it's just lacking something, unlike Step Blast, PowerMax and the sort... I like stepping more than weights and I eventually catch onto choreography. Well, I've done Step Blast about 1/2 dozen times and I still have a hard time with combo #3... but I'm getting there!! I think I would enjoy this workout but I do wonder about the "lacking something" business. Anybody care to share their thoughts?

Personally, I really like Rhythmic Step.

I think some folks don't find it to be intense enough cardio-wise, but I find that the cardio intensity sneaks up on you. It's not as intense as an Imax, but I find myself really sweating it up for the last section and RS challenge.

The choreography a little challenging, but not impossible. It's a fun workout.

I love the music on it, though it isn't as intense as some of Cathe's other workouts. But it's a lot of fun- def. in my top 5 favorites!

From comments I've seen, some people don't like that it's more choreographed, but less intense.

I didn't think the choreo was that tough.

Hi,

I am ambivalent about RS. I like the choreography and I think it's a fun, effective steady-state cardio workout. What drives me nuts about it is the music, especially during the Challenge. It's a monotonous, highly repetitive wailing that seems to get on my last nerve. Music tastes are very personal, so you might find you like it a lot (many people do). When I first got this dvd I did RS and the other two workouts (IMAX and MIC) once a week for many months, and I think that's why I got so tired of the music. The choreography is excellent.

RS is also great to use if you only want a solid 30 minute cardio workout. The warm up, combo 1, challenge, c/d and stretch clock in at 30 minutes, almost exactly.

I love this workout. It is definitely steady state cardio. You can't compare it to the Imaxes because those are interval blast videos this is steady state cardio like step blast and step works.

I thought the choreography was easier than step blast.

I like all the music on RS except for the last song during the challenge. It doesn't seem to flow right with that song. Otherwise, I really enjoy the workout. I love the complicated (at least in my book) choreo and the fact that my HR remains steady through the entire workout. I hope she makes another one of these in the future.

I love the music on this one. Though the step portions aren't quite as intense as some of her others, you still get a great workout.

Gosh, who doesn't like RS???? I love this one...it's an old fave! I had it on vhs two years ago, traded it away (why oh why???) and recently reacquired it (welcome home, RS!). I love the music, the choreography, everything. I guess it's something to do with being the first Cathe I ever owned (also got Power Hour at the same time...same story...glad to have that back, too:)). I just did Step Blast for the second time last night, not sure if I'll like it as much as RS, but it's fun, too. But I just love RS:)

I think this is a great workout! I didn't think the choreography was that tough...there is a place in the third combo that some people find tricky, but you'd get it after a few times. This is a really fun workout! :)

If you are thinking of ordering this, please don't. I ordered it back in March and it is still on backorder. I cannot get an answer as to when it is available. I want to try it, but I am really frustrated with the service.

Okay folks I think you convinced me but actually I was thinking of getting it on VHS. The other workouts on the DVD don't interest me.

RS is my favorite all-step workout by Cathe. I love the advanced footwork and I never get bored doing it. I like the choreography better than Step Blast but I like SB on days when I want that extra interval blast. I also like the music better in RS than SB. Stick with it and you'll get the choreography.

I've had this one on DVD for quite a while now and have only done it once!! I don't really know why...I did like the workout...I guess there are others that I love so much I just don't get around to it...guess I need to pull it out and give it another whirl! :)

For me, RS = FUN!!!! It is just a fun, challenging workout. I find both SB and RS equally enjoyable. They both leave me energized.

I'm glad I have RS and do it for variety and I like that I always break a good sweat doing this workout. I don't think of this as tough and often pull this out when I want good cardio but not I feel like I'm gonna die cardio or when I just know I don't have a ton of energy. I'm always amazed at how hard I'm working without realizing it(hope that makes sense).

The music is o.k. but for some reason there are nights when I KNOW I don't want to do RS or I'll put it in and have to take it out and do something else b/c the music will absoloutely drive me batty. RS is definitely a keeper for me but not one I do all the time. So, I guess I'd have to say what I don't like about RS is the music...one of the very reasons so many others love it...go figure!

Just did RS this evening...and it felt like an old friend:) I felt comfortable with it and could go more all out..which means a great cardio workout...even better than usual:)

Now to learn SB as well...but, there is just something about RS that I love it so much! And to think I got rid of my first copy because I was so frustrated with the choreography!!!

Oh and I have the dvd coming...soon!!! Yeah, I'm nuts:):+
