Why cant I run?......

Joanna,

Really keep on trying. Today was only my 4th day and I cut my 15 minute mile by a whole 2 minutes <G>. Intervals are working great.

Dani,

That's right you're practically my neighbor. That would be pretty neat to finish in Soldier Field. When did you start doing races? I keep saying with all this running I've been doing that now is the time. I don't know what keeps stopping me. Maybe I'm a big chicken! :) Anyway, good for you!

Nancy and Dallas! :)

Hi Nancy and Dallas! I used to run a little bit here and there starting last year some time, but didn't really start seriously doing it until about Feb. of this year. Some friends asked me if I wanted to train with them for the 8K Shamrock Shuffle and I figured I'd give it a try and then move onto other things. The training schedule didn't look all that bad. It looked doable and was only for 8 weeks. http://www.halhigdon.com/8K/8knovsch.htm

So, I ran the Shamrock Shuffle on April 3rd- www.shamrockshuffle.com -and it was so exhilarating and just an awesome experience. One of my friends loved it too and said we should run in a 5K that was going to be just a couple of weeks later. We loved that too and decided what the heck...let's do the 10 mile Soldier Field one and sign up for the marathon too. We're having so much fun we just decided to keep on going. :)
