Why Are STS'ers So Hungry??

Cathe,

A lot of STS'ers are saying the same thing--we're starving. Ok, not starving, but you get the point. ;) It's been referred to as "Hungry Horrors," and oh, that's the truth.

None of understand why this is. Any advice or knowledge you can drop on us?

And to add to that - Cathe, any good snacking tips for those of us STS-ers trying to eat clean but not starve at the same time??

Hi fellow STS'ers - not Cathe, but I wanted to add my two cents.

I'm eating protein and carbs every couple of hours. Make sure you are eating enough protein - it keeps you filled up (string cheese, egg whites, tuna).

Also, I read the forums and people suggested Tosca Reno's Eating Clean book and I got it from Amazon. Great book!!! Per her supplement recommendations, I add wheat germ and flaxseed (both are ground real fine) to cereals, oatmeals, smoothies, yogurt, breads, stuffings - anything I can. These are good for you and also help you keep filled up (Fiber!!)

Good luck everyone! I just did the STS9 Legs workout yesterday - love those plates!!!:p

I had to laugh when I saw string cheese--it's my favorite snack.

I think that I'm going to up my protein intake. Perhaps I'm not getting enough. Carbs I have down. ;) Carbs are my best friend.

Thanks for your input. It was helpful. :)

I have two cents also.

Although I ma not doing STS I did do P90X 2 yrs ago - from what I've seen STS looks alot tougher! Tony does offer the nutrtion book with his & for my size/weight etc his plan had me upping my calories from 1500 to 1800!!!! YEAH  for a girl who loves to eat!! That in itself is motivation to do STS ;) Of course eating the right things is vital!

Tami,

My calorie intake has increased. I do eat pretty healthy, although every Friday the fiance and I get a pizza for dinner. Friday nights I refuse to spend them in the kitchen and then have to clean up. I like to relax in m pj's and watch Ghost Whisperer.

About P90x, I was thinking of giving this a go after STS. Can I ask your opinion of it?

Tara,

I was chuckling when I read your post because my hubby and 2 kids do exactly same thing, pj's pizza and ghost whisper on Friday... so agree at the end of the week that like my cheat meal....with a glass of wine ;);)

Tara,

I'm sure you can get a lot of opinions on P90X here. As for mine.....if you lived close by I would give you mine. Don't get me wrong it was good but IMO after you've done STS it would be so easy!!! STS just seems so much tougher! I pulled my P90X leg sout the other day & I wa slike "this used to be hard?!?" Not anymore!

My .02 on P90X - I think it's a good concept and a good workout. My complaint was that it was just boring - could only take so much of Tony Horton! I sold my copy on ebay but wish that I had kept the nutrition info - I'm trying to remember what I ate b/c I need to get back to my P90X weight (not sure it had as much to do with WOs as it did with eating...)

Anyway, if you have STS, I'm not sure investing in P90X is worthwhile. I'm guessing STS is a better/improved version! If I hadn't spent the last 6 months spending $$$ building up my Cathe collection, I'd be purchasing STS right about now.

Good luck!
