Where did you buy your step?

It looks like all of the Cathe's strength training DVDs use an aerobic step so this will be my next purchase. The step she offers is $89, which seems a bit steep especially when I add it to all of the DVDs I want. Is it worth the price or is there a more afforable step that will work just as well for strength training?

That is a good price!..You can try watching craigslist in your area. I bought mine on amazon. The prices there vary so you may have to check them. Don't forget to check the shipping charges also.

You might also try e-bay, but I think this is pretty much the best price unless you can get a coupon for one of your local sporting good stores!

I bought mine at Modell's; it's the Susan G Komen version and it came with a DVD that included Cathe's Basic Step, Low Impact Step, and Step Fusion workouts. It was about $45. It's not as long as the Original Step but it does the job!

I got mine on eBay with 4 risers for $25. It was used but in fine condition, and has held up for years with no issue. And all of Cathe's risers work just fine with it. It's not a Cathe step. It's the original Reebok health club step, or something close to that name.

I started out with a reebok step, which is shorter than Cathe's. I moved onto a the Susan G version and finally found the original healthclub one (exactly like the one Cathe uses in her DVDs) on Craigslist for 35$. I say go for the full size one you will use it for everything. The longer step gives more you options for using it as a weight bench Also, if you have the high step or decid eto buy it you will already have additional risers. Worth every penny!!

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the feedback. I checked Craigslist and there are not any for sale in my area. I could wait longer BUT I am anxious to get started. It looks like Amazon has the same or similar step with free shipping. Dick's Sporting Goods also looks like they have something similar so I am going to check it out tomorrow. I definitely want one like Cathe uses so it may be safest to order it from her site. I like the larger size because I am tall and will use it for weight lifting as well. Thanks again for the help!!

I ordered mine from here:

I paid a bit lower a while back. This price includes shipping.

Were you planning on getting the Cathe Club Step (the new one with improvements) or the Original Step that's in the Cathe store?

The Cathe Club step comes with LoMax DVD, which makes this price very good if you don't have it already. The other step is the same step and the same price, but doesn't come with the DVD. Add the shipping cost, too.

I got mine at Walmart.com. They shipped it to the store free and I just picked it up there. That way I didn't have to pay for shipping. I paid less than $90 for it. It was worth the investment for me. I also use it as a bench. Just make sure you get the longer one.

I bought my step from Dick's Sporting Goods, the Original Step with Cathe's Basic Step and Cardio and Weights DVD. When I went to register I said to the cashier well I guess this will never go on sale and I really want it, not thinking anything about it just commenting and the sales clerk gave me 20% off. It was $89.99 minus the 20% brought it to $72.00 + tax.

I don't have a Dick's Sporting Goods credit card so I never expected a discount I was just commenting on how I never saw it on sale. That was quite a surprise.

I was in M C Sports in Ann Arbor MI a couple of weeks ago and saw Cathe's high step on sale for $49.99. It had the blue topper with 4 risers and a DVD although I don't remember which one. If I didn't buy mine from Cathe I would definately of purchased it. I did think of buying it just for the extra risers but I already have 10 risers so I didn't need it but the price was so good!!

I got 2 at a yard sale for 5 bucks each.

Wow, you beat me to it. I got mine at a yard sale for 7 bucks. I got a bunch of extra risers at another yard sale for 1 buck! When I bought them, they only had the risers for sale no step, the wife turned to her husband and said "See, I told you someone would buy them!"

I got mine from Cathe's site with a 20% off coupon if I remember correctly.

However, I just bought another one about a month ago at a resale shop for $4. I basically bought it for the extra risers, which I am using a lot!:) So, if you live in a winter wonderland, try the second hand or consignment stores this time of year until you can start hitting the garage sales.

I bought my step from Dick's Sporting Goods, it's the Teal Club Step w/4 risers on sale for 49.99. It had a Cathe VHS tape with it. I don't know which one it's been a while. :)

I got mine at Amazon. It was free shipping and I had a @25 Gift Certificate. It's the gray/black one. I also bought extra risers, from Cathe.com, and the slanted risers!

Amazing the deals you guys got a yard sales!!!

I got mine from Amazon. It was slightly lower priced than it is today. I did get free two day shipping. If you have Prime (or can do the trial), it's the best price with the fastest shipping.

I went to Dick's Sporting Goods today and they have the Original Step (the purple and teal one) with Cathe's Basic Step and Cardio and Weights DVD on sale for $69.99.

I bought mine on ebay. I got 4 risers with it and shipping was included - the total cost was ~ $45. I live in Hawaii so buying it from most places the shipping cost was prohibitive! I would definitely check ebay -this was my first time buying something on ebay and it was a positive experience.
